Chapter 265: The Requiem Route Gets Rejected
Damian finally released a long breath of relief.
Knowing how Violetta’s alternate fate ended had completely erased any remaining idea of simply letting events follow that path.
There was absolutely no fucking way.
If things continued exactly like the system movie, Violetta would eventually burn away her own life just to drag Nolan and half the damn region into the grave with her.
More importantly, Selvara would also become involved in everything leading up to that disaster.
Damian rubbed his forehead.
"Yeah... no thanks. I’m not even going to fucking try that route."
Although the King Grade pipa spirit was currently still inside his storage ring, Damian already knew the weapon was practically destined for Violetta, so sooner or later, it would end up in her hands.
He had originally thought simply gifting her the King Grade pipa would solve everything.
The system movie had just proven otherwise.
The pipa would undoubtedly make Violetta far stronger. It might even allow her to seriously threaten Nolan.
However, that alone still wasn’t enough for her to defeat him properly.
If everything followed the same path, Violetta would lose the battle, get pushed to the edge of death, and eventually activate that suicidal [Forbidden Art - Crimson Requiem of Ten Thousand Sins].
Damian’s expression became thoughtful. "That’s not enough."
He rubbed his chin. "I need to make her strong enough to beat that bastard without fucking killing herself."
His thoughts quickly shifted toward the system.
Violetta’s current favorability toward him had already reached the maximum level of 100.
More importantly... Damian had already crossed that final intimate boundary with her.
In other words, the system’s [Intimate Sacrifice Reward] function should now work on Violetta as well.
Damian’s eyes immediately sharpened. "System."
The interface flickered faintly. That tiny reaction was already enough.
Damian slowly leaned forward. "So she qualifies."
A dangerous excitement gradually appeared on his face.
His gaze moved toward the storage ring containing the King Grade pipa. "Hehehe..."
A terrible idea had entered his head. "I wonder what kind of reward Violetta would get if I sacrificed the King Grade pipa itself."
Even Damian understood how fucking insane that sounded.
The sacrifice reward had always produced something superior to the item being sacrificed.
If he offered a King Grade weapon as the base... What the hell would come back?
Damian’s eyes became brighter as his imagination started running wild. "Could Violetta directly obtain Supreme King Grade treasure?"
Damain could think that because Violetta currently has a 400x multiplier, there’s a high possibility that the reward will push the True King Grade directly into the Supreme King Grade.
And that was what made him so excited, but another question suddenly entered his mind. "Wait a minute..."
Damian glanced toward his storage ring. "What will happen to the pipa spirit, then?"
His enthusiasm faded slightly. "If I sacrifice the weapon, will the spirit somehow survive?"
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Or will the system simply erase her along with the pipa?"
For a moment, Damian genuinely considered the moral problem, but then he remembered exactly how that damn pipa spirit had treated him inside the Sword Tomb.
His thoughtful expression immediately disappeared. "Eh. Who fucking cares?"
Damian casually waved his hand. "She was never nice to me anyway."
His eyes narrowed slightly as he remembered all the attitude he had received from that irritating spirit.
"Hell, she practically treated me like some annoying delivery servant while acting all sweet toward Violetta in the system movie."
Damian clicked his tongue. "Ungrateful instrument."
More importantly, the pipa spirit did not possess a system multiplier.
That immediately destroyed most of Damian’s remaining hesitation. "She doesn’t even have a multiplier."
Damian stood up and casually dusted off his robe. "Yeah. Definitely not my problem."
His familiar shameless expression returned as he looked toward the direction Violetta had gone earlier. "Alright, then."
Damian cracked his neck. "Let’s go find Violetta."
His grin became increasingly excited. "I really want to see what the fuck happens when I sacrifice a King Grade pipa for her."
---
Violetta was currently inside her room.
After leaving Damian’s room earlier, she had calmly taken care of herself and somehow returned to her usual elegant appearance as though nothing unusual had happened.
Just remembering how casually she had walked away while he was left lying uselessly on the floor made Damian’s mouth twitch.
"This woman really evolved way too fucking fast."
He stopped in front of her door and raised his hand.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
A soft voice soon came from inside. "Please come in, Master."
Damian pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Violetta was sitting gracefully beside the window with a cup of tea in her hand.
Sunlight fell across her long hair, making her look as gentle and refined as ever.
The moment she saw him, she placed the cup down. "Master."
Damian stared at her for a moment before asking seriously, "Violetta, do you know why I came here?"
Violetta tilted her head slightly. "Hmm..."
Her eyes carried a faint trace of amusement. "Either Master came to give me another gift..."
Damian’s eyebrow rose. "Or perhaps Master came to take revenge because I belittled your performance this morning."
Damian visibly flinched. "Oi."
Violetta immediately covered her lips as a soft chuckle escaped her. "Hehehe... I’m only teasing you, Master."
Damian stared at her with a complicated expression. "You really have changed, Violetta."
The Violetta from before would have turned bright red just thinking about saying something like that.
This woman was getting dangerous.
Violetta merely smiled gently. "Sorry, Master."
She lifted her teacup again. "I learned many things during my time in the Heavenly Palace."
Her eyes curved faintly. "Including how to wear a convincing fake face."
Damian’s expression stiffened.
"Why does that sound fucking terrifying when she says it so sweetly?"
Violetta quietly took another sip of tea before continuing as though discussing something perfectly ordinary. "Don’t worry, though."
She looked directly at Damian. "Master was still quite powerful last night."
Damian’s eyes immediately brightened.
Violetta calmly added, "I’m still not walking completely normally."
Damian released a long breath of relief and placed one hand over his chest. "Good."
His dignity had apparently survived. "At least I still have something left as a man."
Violetta’s expression became even more amused, but thankfully, she decided not to attack what remained of his pride again.
Damian coughed twice and quickly changed the subject before she could reconsider. "Anyway."
He straightened himself. "Since you already guessed that I came here to give you something, get ready."
The teasing in Violetta’s eyes immediately faded.
Her expression softened. "Master has already given me far too much."
She gently placed her cup down. "No matter what it is this time, I will always..."
Damian chuckled, stopping her. "It’s already inside your spirit ring."
Violetta froze. "...What?"
Damian casually pointed toward the ring on her finger. "I already put it inside."
For several seconds, Violetta simply stared at Damian before slowly shifting her gaze back to her storage ring. "What the hell just happened?"
How could Damian suddenly place something inside her storage ring without her even realizing it?
Unable to suppress her curiosity, she immediately checked what he had given her.
And the moment she saw it... Her eyes widened in shock. She was stunned beyond comparison.
