Damian walked forward through the thick sword mist.

The golden sword light ahead became clearer with every step.

A young man stood near a broken stone gate, wearing clean white robes, his posture refined and his aura sharp.

The moment the young man noticed Damian, his eyes changed.

Damian also stopped.

For a brief moment, the two only stared at each other.

Then Damian’s brows slowly lifted.

"Oh?"

The young man’s face darkened almost instantly. "Damian."

Damian blinked, then smiled. "Nolan."

The golden sword light around Nolan trembled faintly.

He stared at Damian with clear killing intent, but a cold laugh soon escaped his mouth. "To think you’re actually here."

Damian nodded naturally. "Of course. Your stupid henchmen were too weak, so I had to come deeper myself."

Nolan’s expression twitched, but he quickly laughed. "I don’t care whether you won against them or not."

His eyes became colder. "Now that you’re here, that’s good enough. I can kill you myself."

Damian pointed at himself with a strange look. "Kill me? Don’t you know my master is Selvara?"

Nolan’s smile became twisted. "I don’t give a shit."

The surrounding sword mist stirred as his aura rose.

"Sooner or later, I will get Selvara myself. You were only lucky. You got the disciple token that should have belonged to me."

Damian raised his brow. "Huh? Should have been yours? Why is that?"

Nolan’s eyes flashed with pride and resentment. "That disciple token came from Loren Veyr."

Damian stared at him.

Nolan raised his chin. "And I am Nolan Veyr."

Silence fell for a breath.

Damian slowly looked him up and down.

Then his expression became even stranger. "Wait. Just because you both have the same last name, you think the token belongs to you?"

Nolan’s face stiffened.

Damian scratched his cheek. "Hey, don’t you know Veyr is a pretty common last name? What kind of stupid logic is that?"

Nolan’s eyes turned cold. "You know nothing."

Damian nodded. "I know enough. You failed to get the token, failed to become Selvara’s disciple, got your secret exposed, and even your assassins failed to kill me."

His smile became brighter. "Honestly, Nolan, your failure rate is quite impressive for a genius like you."

Nolan’s face twisted with rage.

Golden sword Qi erupted from his body.

BOOM!

The broken stone gate behind him cracked under the pressure.

"Damian."

His sword slowly left its sheath.

SHING!

"I will kill you here."

Damian looked at Nolan’s sword, then glanced at his own empty hand.

A second later, he casually took out a Top-Rank Royal Grade sword he had obtained from the Sword Tomb.

The blade was long and dark blue, with faint water-like sword patterns flowing across its surface.

The moment it appeared, the surrounding sword mist trembled slightly.

HUMM...

Damian rested the sword on his shoulder and smiled. "Hehe. Don’t think I’m weak just because my old sword broke, Nolan. Let’s see if you can actually kill me."

Nolan’s gaze landed on the sword in Damian’s hand.

His pupils shrank slightly.

"Top-Rank Royal Grade?"

Greed flashed in his eyes.

Damian noticed it immediately and clicked his tongue. "Damn. You fake righteous geniuses all have the same ugly eyes when you see treasure."

Nolan’s face darkened. "That sword does not belong to you."

Damian blinked. "Oh? Does this one also belong to your Veyr family because some random ancestor once drank water near it?"

Nolan’s killing intent became stronger.

Damian tilted his head. "Or maybe it belongs to you because you dreamed about it first?"

The sword mist became colder.

Nolan’s voice turned sharp. "You are still as arrogant as ever."

Damian laughed. "And you are still as poor as ever."

Nolan froze. "What?"

Damian pointed his sword at him and spoke with shameless pity. "You keep saying you want Selvara, but do you even have money?"

Nolan’s expression stiffened.

Damian sighed loudly. "You want to chase a dangerous cold sword beauty like my master with what? Your empty pocket? Your ugly ambition? Your fake righteous smile?"

Nolan’s face darkened further.

Damian shook his head. "At least be a rich simp. A poor simp is just embarrassing."

The surrounding sword domains trembled faintly, as if even they were stunned by that insult.

Nolan’s eyes turned bloodshot. "You dare call me a simp?"

Damian’s expression became serious. "Crazy Selvara simp."

Nolan’s aura exploded harder.

BOOM!

Damian kept smiling on the outside, but inside, he silently cursed.

"Damn this lunatic. Why the hell does he want Selvara so badly? Sure, she’s a great beauty, but that woman is too dangerous. If not for her high multiplier, even I would want to stay far away."

A faint chill crawled up Damian’s spine when he thought of Selvara’s cold eyes.

"No, no. Don’t think too much. Master might sense someone talking about her."

Damian coughed lightly and pushed the thought away.

Nolan, however, had completely misunderstood his silence as fear.

A cruel smile appeared on his face. "What? Finally afraid?"

Damian looked at him strangely. "Afraid of you?"

He lifted the Top-Rank Royal Grade sword.

"Please. I was just wondering how someone can be this poor, delusional, and obsessed at the same time."

Nolan could no longer endure it.

Golden sword Qi surged around Nolan’s blade like a blazing river.

[Golden Sun Severing Sword]

RUMBLE!

A huge golden sword arc tore through the mist and rushed straight toward Damian.

Damian’s eyes sharpened slightly.

"Oh? Not bad."

Nolan stepped forward, his voice filled with hatred. "Damian, I’ll cut off your tongue first."

The golden sword arc descended like a burning sun.

SHING!

Damian did not move.

A five-colored barrier suddenly bloomed around his body.

The barrier of his [Five Elements Accessories Set] appeared like a thin, rotating shield of light.

BOOOOM!

Nolan’s sword art slammed into the barrier.

The ground beneath Damian cracked, and the sword mist exploded outward, but Damian himself only slid back half a step.

The golden sword Qi scattered.

Nolan’s eyes widened. "What?!"

Damian looked down at the glowing barrier around him, then slowly looked back at Nolan.

His smile became painfully smug.

"Damn. You really can’t even break my accessories?"

Nolan’s face twisted.

Damian sighed with deep pity. "Poor simp. No money, no master, no woman, and now no damage."

The surrounding sword domains trembled faintly.

HUMM...

Even they seemed to think that was cruel.
