Chapter 72: Concil meeting 2
Eren and Theo simultaneously turned their heads toward the lounge area of the office, finding a guy with a confident, insufferable smug grin. He was casually stirring his tea, sitting on the lavish lounge couch like he owned the entire room.
Of course, it was the blue-haired simp—Reinhardt Angulus.
Eren cringed every single time this simp met his eye in his field of vision. Seriously, this guy’s presence alone lowers the value of this administrative wing.
But what could he do?
"And what’s exactly your business here today, Reinhardt?" Eren asked, keeping his tone thoroughly unimpressed with his sight.
But before Reinhardt could open his mouth to boast or curse Eren, the yandere president answered for him behind that desk.
"He is here because a formal petition has been lodged," Cedric stated coldly. "Reinhardt wants you officially removed from the academy, Eren."
Eren looked between both of them, occasionally giving a quick, appreciative eye toward the model secretary standing by the bookshelf. He then looked back at the president, completely unbothered.
"Removing? Me?" Eren raised his brow in skepticism. "How can someone with a heart have the audacity to remove a model student like me?"
Both the secretary girl and the prince slapped their mouths shut with their hands, muffling a chuckle at his shameless joke.
But it seems Cedric has not enjoyed the joke. He calmly sighed in annoyance, removing his glasses to set them aside on the table. He then looked at Eren with a serious, unyielding expression.
"Eren Volsver, let us set the official paperwork aside for a moment," Cedric said, his voice dropping into a low, menacing register. "I am informing you directly, Eren... I actively oppose your engagement with my sister, Aria. I will not allow it."
Eren didn’t even flinch at his words, casually crossed his arms, and leaned back comfortably onto the leather chair with a usual smirk adorning his face. "With all due respect, President, I wasn’t exactly sitting here waiting for your personal blessing. After all, Duke Reedings has already officially sanctioned and agreed to the arrangement."
"That’s because my father does not know the full extent of how atrocious you truly are," Cedric countered.
Eren simply lifted his hand, pointing his thumb towards the lounge area without even looking back. "Worse than that idiot who abandoned his fiance for another girl and is now begging her to come back?" he countered back.
Reinhardt slammed his tea cup down on the saucer, marching toward Eren in a raging storm of nobility. "What did you just say, you trashy Volsver bastard?!"
He grabbed the back of Eren’s leather chair and yanked it around, forcing Eren to look him dead in the eye.
Eren, however, wasn’t even remotely impressed by the sudden outburst. He remained entirely stationary, resting his chin on his knuckles with a bored smirk.
Before Reinhardt could escalate his aggressive posturing, Theo stood up. His usual golden-retriever warmth vanished, replaced by a cold, royal authority as he clamped an iron grip around Reinhardt’s wrist, yanking his hand off Eren’s chair.
"What do you think you are doing, Reinhardt?" Theo demanded, his voice turning serious authority.
"Your Highness has no right to interfere in this!" Reinhardt shouted, trying to pull his arm free.
Eren casually stood up from the seat, stepping right between the Prince and the blue-haired simp, casting a tall, imposing shadow over the desperate noble.
"You stole Aria from me," Reinhardt snarled through gritted teeth, his eyes bloodshot with envy. "I will take her back, no matter what it takes!"
"Stole her?" Eren scoffed, shaking his head. "Let’s review the historical logs, shall we? You are the brilliant mind who actively abandoned her to chase after Saintess Alice in broad daylight. You practically handed her off."
"I don’t care about Alice anymore!" Reinhardt bellowed, completely abandoning any remaining thread of dignity. "You can go back to stalking her for all I care! Just stay away from Aria!"
Eren laughed in amusement at the absolute, jaw-dropping desperation unfolding in front of him. Wondering how low a guy can actually go? First, he tosses his fiancée aside because he wants Alice’s attention. Then, the moment Aria stops caring about his existence, he drops Alice like a hot potato and comes crawling back. This isn’t even simping anymore; this is just ego at this point.
"How much further down do you plan to drop, Reinhardt?" Eren asked calmly, trying hard not to laugh. "It’s genuinely embarrassing to watch."
"Enough!" Cedric’s commanding voice cut through the room like a steel, though his cold eyes remained fixed on Eren.
Theo stepped in, physically shoving Reinhardt back a few paces to create a safety margin. Eren turned back toward the desk, tilting his head at the Student Council President.
"Tell me, President," Eren mused, gesturing toward the red-faced noble behind him. "Is this the gentleman you want as your sister’s husband?"
"Eren, look out!" Theo’s panicked shout rang out from behind.
Eren’s instincts flared a millisecond before he turned. Reinhardt had completely lost his mind, lunging forward with a magic-infused, fiery fist aimed directly for Eren’s jaw—barely an inch away from impact.
With reflex operating at maximum speed, Eren dipped his head back, dodging the incoming strike by a hair’s breadth. Before Reinhardt could even reset his stance, Eren instinctively went for an uppercut, but his hand suddenly started igniting with a blazing, concentrated burst of fire magic.
Moving twice as fast as the blue-haired simp, Eren drove a brutal, devastating uppercut straight into Reinhardt’s exposed chin.
BOOM!
The explosive impact launched Reinhardt clean off his feet and sent him flying backward, crashing against the carpet near the couch.
Theo rushed over immediately, kneeling down to help the fallen simp. Although Reinhardt had taken a devastating, force-multiplied blow that left a dark, scorching mark across his jawline, he was miraculously still conscious, groaning in pain.
Eren stood there, his chest heaving and a trail of smoke drifted from his right knuckles.
At this exact moment, he didn’t care about the mysterious magic that had suddenly manifested. He didn’t care about the complicated political engagement with Aria, nor did he care about the student council’s executive authority.
All he knew was that this pathetic, blue-haired idiot had just tried to take his life over a petty, bruised ego. And For the very first time since waking up in this world, he was pissed at someone like this. He wouldn’t leave him.
