Void Cultivation

Chapter 415 - 414-

A strange silence settled between the two of them for a short while.

Neither Grey nor Zayne spoke.

The atmosphere on top of the building was unusually quiet, with only the faint sound of the wind blowing past them. Grey remained standing in place, his expression calm and unreadable as he stared at the man before him.

Eventually, Zayne shook his head.

Without saying anything, he reached into his robes and tossed a small Jade Slip toward Grey.

The Jade Slip flew through the air and landed on the ground with a soft thud.

Grey’s gaze lowered toward it, but he made no immediate attempt to pick it up.

"On it are the names of all the Heaven’s Chosen from the Sects Alliance," Zayne said calmly. "As well as their cultivation bases and their current status within their respective Sects."

After saying this, Zayne turned around and began walking away.

Grey’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Why are you giving this to me?"

His voice remained calm. He had never asked Zayne for such information, nor had he done anything that would warrant the man going out of his way to provide it. As far as Grey was concerned, there was no reason for Zayne to suddenly hand him a list containing information about the Heaven’s Chosen of the Sects Alliance.

Moreover, it had been years since they last met or had anything to do with each other. Grey did not find any reasons for his good will.

Therefore, Grey couldn’t help but be suspicious.

Zayne stopped.

He glanced back at the Jade Slip lying on the ground, seemingly unfazed by the fact that Grey had no intention of picking it up.

Then, after a brief silence, he turned his head slightly.

"In a few days, the Detective Agency Department will be constantly challenged by the Sects Alliance."

Grey’s eyes flickered. Zayne continued.

"All of them will be looking for an opportunity to challenge you. And more importantly, they will be looking to defeat you."

His voice was neither hurried nor concerned, as though he were merely stating an obvious fact.

Zayne tilted his head slightly.

Under the dim sunlight, the greenish-black tattoos covering his body became even more prominent. They spread across his skin like strange, twisted vines, extending all the way up his neck and nearly covering half of his face.

For a moment, his strange appearance made him seem even more mysterious.

"Although you’re not like me..."

Zayne paused. There was a strange hesitation in his voice, one that Grey immediately noticed.

Zayne’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Grey.

"Find a way to survive."

The moment those words left his mouth, his expression became cold once again.

There was no encouragement in his voice. No concern and sympathy.

It was simply a warning.

A few seconds later, Zayne’s figure suddenly blurred.

He leaped from the top of the building without another word, his body cutting through the air before landing gracefully on the roof of the next building.

Thud!

The distance between the two buildings was considerable, yet Zayne landed as lightly as a feather.

He didn’t look back.

In a few more moments, his figure disappeared into the distance.

Grey continued watching the direction Zayne had left in.

His expression remained unchanged. The words Zayne had spoken continued to echo in his mind.

The Sects Alliance would challenge him.

And they would all be looking to defeat him.

Grey wasn’t surprised. He had already been told by Bao and now Zayne was telling him too as well.

Ever since the incident with the Bizarre Broken Sect, his name had gradually spread among the younger generation. The fact that he had managed to defeat their Heaven’s Chosen had undoubtedly attracted the attention of countless people.

The Sects Alliance would never allow their Heaven’s Chosen to be defeated repeatedly without doing anything about it.

The challenges were inevitable.

Grey lowered his gaze.

The small Jade Slip was still lying quietly on the ground.

After a few moments, he finally bent down and picked it up.

He had deliberately left it there earlier.

Grey hadn’t trusted Zayne enough to immediately accept something from him without first understanding his intentions. However, there was no reason for him to reject the information either.

Information was always valuable.

Especially information about his potential enemies.

Grey held the Jade Slip between two fingers and examined it carefully.

He could have simply sent his shadow to retrieve it, but he immediately dismissed the thought.

The corrosive substance contained within his shadow would undoubtedly infiltrate the Jade Slip. Even if the damage wasn’t immediately visible, there was a high chance that the corrosive energy would taint the information stored inside.

Grey wasn’t willing to take that risk.

After all, if Zayne was telling the truth, then this Jade Slip contained the names, cultivation bases, and statuses of all the Heaven’s Chosen belonging to the Sects Alliance.

Such information could prove extremely useful.

Grey’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Interesting."

He didn’t know whether Zayne was genuinely trying to help him or if there was another reason behind his actions.

Whatever the reason, Grey didn’t intend to dwell on it for too long.

He slowly turned the Jade Slip in his hand before putting it away.

If the Sects Alliance truly intended to send their Heaven’s Chosen to challenge him one after another, then he would simply deal with them.

One at a time.

Grey turned around and walked toward the edge of the building.

The wind blew against his robes as his eyes gazed into the distance.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Come then."

If the Sects Alliance wanted to use him as a stepping stone to establish their reputation, then they had better be prepared to pay the price.

Grey had never been afraid of challenges.

As long as they came, he would face them.

And if they wanted to defeat him...

They would first have to prove that they were capable of doing so. The only thing that made him hesitant, was the fact that he couldn’t kill them outright. Just like the way he wasn’t allowed to kill Kaien.

After putting the Jade Slip into his storage ring, Grey left the top of the building and made his way toward one of the Ports that had not been occupied by the Seventeen Magic Vessels.

This particular Port was located much farther away from the Detective Agency Department. It was also a considerable distance from the bustling market district, where the streets were constantly filled with cultivators, merchants, and travelers.

Compared to the central areas of the city, this place was much quieter.

It was primarily a local import and export Port. Ships frequently came and went from the harbor, transporting various goods to and from different regions. However, because the Port was not particularly important, the number of high-level cultivators present here was relatively low.

At most, the strongest cultivators Grey could sense in the area were at the Eighth or Ninth Level of the Qi Accumulation Realm.

Most of the people working around the Port were much weaker.

Many of them were only at the Fourth or Fifth Level of the Qi Accumulation Realm. They worked as laborers, moving back and forth between the ships and the Port while loading and unloading goods.

Some carried large wooden crates.

Others transported bags filled with various resources.

There were even a few cultivators who were responsible for checking the goods before they were loaded onto the ships.

For ordinary people, these cultivators would already be considered extremely powerful.

But in the eyes of Grey, they were nothing worth paying attention to.

Grey casually walked through the Port.

Nobody paid much attention to him.

This was exactly what he wanted.

After walking for a while, Grey found a relatively quiet and secluded location at the edge of the Port. There were several large warehouses nearby, which helped block the view from the main area.

After making sure that no one was paying attention to him, Grey reached into his storage ring.

He then brought out a small glass bottle.

The moment the bottle appeared in his hand, the sunlight reflected off its smooth surface.

A bright flash of light flickered across the glass before shining directly onto Grey’s face.

His murky grey eyes and cold, expressionless face could be clearly seen in the reflection on the bottle.

Grey lowered his head slightly and carefully observed the object in his hands.

Inside the glass bottle was his new Magic Ship.

As he examined it, Grey couldn’t help but notice that the Magic Ship was completely different from his previous one.

It was also far superior.

The first thing he noticed was the size.

Contrary to what Grey had expected, the new Magic Ship didn’t look bigger than his previous one.

In fact, it looked considerably smaller.

The difference wasn’t limited to the shape or size of the hull.

Even the masts were smaller.

His previous Magic Ship had possessed three or four masts, giving it the appearance of a massive vessel capable of sailing across the vast ocean without difficulty.

However, the new Magic Ship only had two masts.

Grey stared at it for several moments.

His brows furrowed slightly.

This was not what he had expected.

Based on everything Bao had told him, Grey had naturally assumed that his new Magic Ship would be much larger than his previous one.

He had expected a massive vessel.

Something bigger.

Tougher.

More durable.

Perhaps even something that would immediately intimidate anyone who saw it.

Instead, the Magic Ship in front of him looked smaller and more compact.

For a moment, Grey wondered if Bao had made some sort of mistake.

However, he quickly dismissed the thought.

Bao might be strange and unreliable at times, but when it came to refining Magic Ships, Grey had to admit that the man was incredibly skilled.

There was no way he would make such a basic mistake.

Grey continued staring at the small Magic Ship inside the glass bottle.

"Could it be..."

A thought suddenly crossed his mind.

He narrowed his eyes slightly.

Without wasting any more time, Grey walked toward the edge of the Port.

He carefully looked around once again before stepping onto the water.

With his current cultivation, walking across the surface of the water was naturally not difficult.

Grey held the glass bottle in his hand as he moved farther away from the Port.

Only when he had reached a relatively empty area did he stop.

He lowered his hand.

The glass bottle immediately flew out of his palm.
