Vorpal Rabbit and Fortress Uncle

Episode 02: Pods fall into the jungle

"Damn, what's going on? Not at all."

With the leaves and branches that are wrapped around my body, I stand still.

Under his feet is the wreckage of the seat that was housed in the pod. Looking over his head, a parachute that had been deployed a few seconds before the ground crash was caught in the trees and hanging loosely.

"Good to see you, me."

Looking down at his body, he sighed.

The runnerstone is only a steel body, and there are no scratches.

Only about 10% of the lifepoints and LP gauges displayed in the corners of the view have been scraped. No, the problem is that it is sharpened.

"Where are we anyway?

I peeked into a device like a watch wrapped around my left wrist. It seems that the device with the octagonal screen has the official name "Yatano Kagami".

The current location was displayed on the screen via communication with Tsukuyomi.

"The Beast Forest.... I don't think it's a safe zone for now."

If you shrink the map, the surrounding area is full of forests.

Sitting halfway down on the wreckage of the pod.

"That's right. Check the contents of the initial pack."

Survivor Pack of your choice when you were a character creator. With that, we might be able to reach Susano.

So I quickly manipulated the "Octopusscope" to remove the pack from the inventory. Then a metal box was suddenly thrown under his feet.

"Is this the pack? Mass preservation... no, it's a game."

Without thinking deeply, I open the lid of the box.

Inside is a large backpack with a military-like dark green camouflage pattern, a sturdy lantern and a compact folded stove.

No, this is more of a five-virtue stove than a stove. I also have my mobile fuel.

"When you equip your backpack, it increases the inventory capacity and the critical mass you have. Throw in the lantern and stove....."

When I was clearing the contents of the box, there was a metal cartridge about the size of a business card on the bottom. Reading the engraved label, it says, "Explorer guide."

"How do I use this... Oh, this is how it works."

When the cartridge is lifted, the progress bar suddenly appears on the Octopusscope screen. When it was all blue, it looked like a text file had been imported.

"Hmm. Maybe it's like help."

“College of pioneering investigators. If you are awarded a Survivor Pack, you will be dropped at a random point in the surrounding field, not Susano.”

"Hmm-hmm!?

Read the message written on the first page and unwittingly open your eyes.

Is that why I couldn't go to Susano?

“Explore the surroundings of Susano with this bundle."

"What a sparta... Then give me more supplies."

Without complaining about the message or getting a reply, I have no choice but to continue reading.

“When you get to the ground, first check the three types of artifacts."

The three kinds of artifacts are important parts that support the root of our robotic dolls.

One is the communication terminal "Yatano Kagami" on the left wrist.

The second is the "Yasakanino Magatama", a large ball that glows blue in the middle of the chest.

And the third is the silver iron stick stored in the inventory, which at first glance is about one meter old, "Tenryun Sword" Amenomura Monozurugi ".

It's a bizarre name, but none of it is easy to call, so in the end it will be called by abbreviations such as "mirror", "cuckoo" and "sword".

"The mirror didn't have any particular problems."

Let's go through them one by one.

In addition to managing the inventory, the mirror appears to be able to check various statuses, configure game systems, browse bulletin boards, communicate with friends, and log out.

"Speaking of which, death games used to be popular."

Fiction, of course.

Speaking of whether that actually happens, it doesn't really happen. You can still select the logout button properly this time.

Incidentally, checking the status, the name, the type of aircraft, the current value and maximum value of the LP, etc. were lined up in pure white, such as the initial steel.

You know, you're gonna need it to produce LPs and accumulate records.

Kakudama has the function of producing and accumulating LPs and the function of storing behavioral records.

LP is like a combination of other game hit points, stamina, and mana power. When this wears out, I become incapacitated and consume it when activating a special move called Arts.

Speaking of which, the hook is the part that hits my heart.

With that, a sword. I wonder what form this will take. "

Finally, at this stage, the sword is just an iron rod.

It seems that the nanomachine is made of a special material, which can be changed to its shape when the data is installed.

There are five types of data installed by default: Basic Sword, Basic Spear, Basic Hammer, Basic Bow, and Basic Handgun.

It is a series of initial equipment that looks like a letter after reading it.

The game has a system called Skills, which is enhanced by the player's behavior.

For example, if you wave the sword, you will gain experience in the skill "Sword Magic", and if you point the spear at it, you will gain experience in "Spear Magic".

The first choice of weapon is important, though redoing can do as much as it takes.

"... a spear."

After a little trouble, I chose the "Basic Spear" data.

When selected, the Heavenly Plum Sword changes form and becomes an elongated spear.

"Reach is a proximity weapon because it's longer, cooler, and easier to handle than a bow or a gun."

If I had something, I'd feel a little bit better.

I learned the basic manipulation of the three kinds of artifacts, and I finally got up.

"Let's get out of this forest first. With that, let's aim for Susano. Hooray for the skill level on the way."

Now I'm Newby with zero skill levels. I would like to fight weak native creatures (Enemies) to build up my Spear Magic skills, as well as some other skills that have been starred at beforehand.

I'm not aiming for the mightiest warrior or the all-powerful wizard.

He is a free traveler who can walk anywhere.

Re-bear the backpack and hold the spear.

So I took the first step to commemorate...

"─ ─ Aaaaaaaaa!!

"Yikes!?

It was crushed by the mystery of falling from the sky.
