Chapter 1200 - 519: The Lively Winter Festival (End)
"???," Mogiana had just taken a step when the Lake God Witch suddenly felt herself paralyzed, falling helplessly to the ground. "What is happening? How did I..."
"How did you...?" Veronica knelt on one knee, puzzled, as the bedroom door was flung open again.
"Such a lively Winter Festival, oh foolish humans~," came the voice of the dark elf from the doorway. With a ghostly smile, Ollica walked in, "The outcome of the Pale Queen’s ritual is decided, and I am the Lord of Fear."
"Impossible, how did you...," Mogiana said incredulously, "Did you drug me? But when?"
"You forgot, when you were chatting, it was I who poured you the beer." The Dark Elf Maid grinned slyly, "This potion activates whenever magic power is used."
"Despicable..." Veronica and Mogiana were quickly bound hand and foot by Ollica with ropes, their eyes blindfolded and mouths gagged with cloth, and then they were placed in the dressing room next to the master bedroom. "Just be my audience!"
"Mmm~ Mmmm~," came the muffled sounds from the dressing room, as Veronica and Mogiana, despairing, were sealed inside a wardrobe with their powers locked by the Dark Elf Maid’s magic.
Half an hour later, Laine finished handling official documents and returned to the master bedroom, finding Ollica waiting for him on the bed. The dark elf hummed an enchanting melody, her long black hair spread across the sheets, her feet clad in white stockings swaying back and forth, clearly in high spirits. Seeing Laine, Ollica immediately threw herself into his arms. "Master! You’re back?"
"Ollica? Why is it you?" Laine held the dark elf and asked curiously, "Where’s Veronica?"
"Lady Veronica had matters at the Wizard Tower and left earlier. I’ll be with you tonight!" The dark elf buried her head into Laine’s chest, her tone carrying a peculiar note. "Master, I will always be with you. They will abandon you, but I won’t."
Laine felt something odd, but he still lay on the bed with Ollica in his arms, moved, saying, "Yes, my Ollica would never abandon me."
"That’s right, Master, I’m the only one you can fully trust." The dark elf made a secret gesture of victory.
Laine still felt something was off. He vaguely heard a "mmm mmm" sound from the direction of the dressing room. "Wait a minute, Ollica, I think I hear something from the dressing room?"
"I arranged for the servants to tidy up the clothes!" the dark elf explained, offering a fragrant kiss. "Alright, Master, don’t worry about it, rest now, let me serve you."
"Hmm." Holding his personal pillow, Laine had no chance to think more deeply.
...I am the line of complete victory...
Time shifts. The Winter Festival passed, and February arrived.
In the northern part of Charon Forest, near the dense woods along the Grismore River, a massive camp had been established. Mountains of war supplies and provisions were stored there, and a knightly army of over 15,000 had gathered under Laine’s command, preparing for the long-planned campaign against Musillon.
To conquer Brittania, Musillon must first be conquered; to conquer Musillon, Sharp-Top Palace must first be captured.
Whether the ducal title can be achieved, whether one can become king, whether this Kingdom’s tumor can be eradicated, all depends on this war!
