Chapter 657 - 656: Reunion (52)
Not sure how much time had passed, the noise beside her had stopped.
Damian Sinclair stopped typing on the keyboard and turned to look, Bella Acker had dropped her phone to the side and fallen asleep.
"Bella?" Damian called softly, but the sleeping Bella Acker had no reaction.
Damian gently placed the computer down, went to the side to get a mosquito coil and lit it, then sprayed some insect repellent around.
Bella Acker frowned slightly and turned over.
Damian picked up the computer, quietly walked over to sit beside her, lifted her head and placed it on his lap.
Bella Acker murmured twice, seeming a bit displeased.
Damian immediately released his hands, even lightening his breathing, just hoping not to wake her up.
Bella Acker raised her hand, placed it on his leg, and moved a bit, finding a more comfortable spot to continue sleeping peacefully.
Not sure if it was his presence that comforted her, as she slept on his lap, the frown on her face unknowingly relaxed.
Damian held the computer, not typing anymore, just quietly browsing through the files. He noted any places that needed modification in his mind to change later.
Bella Acker didn’t know how long she slept, only feeling she hadn’t slept so peacefully for a while, even after waking up her whole body was lazy, unwilling to move much.
"Mommy, are you awake?" A girl’s voice rang beside her.
Bella Acker didn’t open her eyes, reached towards the direction of the voice, pulling the girl into her arms, and said, "I’m awake."
"Then it’s time for us to go back."
"Go back? Is it late?" Bella Acker finally opened her eyes.
The girl nodded, "It’s already after four."
"Did I sleep that long?" Bella Acker frowned, preparing to get up, only then realizing her head was resting on something, looked up to see Damian Sinclair’s face.
Bella Acker abruptly sat up, staring at Damian Sinclair.
Damian calmly put the computer away, said, "Driving back will take over an hour, it’s time to set off." Saying that, he moved his leg slightly, his brow scarcely frowned.
Bella Acker noticed, blushed a little, "Leg numb?"
"Not really." Damian waited until the numbness in his legs faded before standing up.
The girl listened and shook her head, Daddy is so silly, at times like this, he should pretend to be pitiful and say his legs hurt terribly, so Mommy would feel guilty and care for him.
Really worried about such a silly Daddy.
Bella Acker noticed Damian walking, still slightly awkward, feeling indeed a bit sorry.
The girl looked up at her, "Mommy, you hurt Daddy’s legs."
Bella Acker blushed, stubbornly said, "I lay there myself, he’s the one who offered his legs as a pillow."
"Mommy is not being honest." The girl shook her head, "Didn’t Mommy say when someone takes care of you, you should thank them?"
"You know the most." Bella Acker sighed, "I know, I’ll thank him. Now go pack your little backpack, okay?"
"Mommy must keep her word."
"I will, I will. Ethan, help Talia pack her things." Bella Acker was helpless, waited until the two kids were gone, picked up her phone, walked over hesitantly, said, "Mr. Sinclair, just now... just now, thank you."
Damian put the computer away, turned around to look at her.
Bella Acker felt her cheeks grow hot under his gaze.
