Chapter 681 - 680: The First Rule of Winning Back a Wife (24)
Bella felt even more annoyed because Talia was clearly siding with Damian.
Little brown-noser, she doesn’t even know Damian is her biological father yet, and she’s already helping him. If she found out, wouldn’t she sell me out completely as her mom?
Bella sighed, raised her glass, and said, "It’s rare for us to gather together, let’s have a toast."
"Alright, cheers, cheers!" Judy Zimmerman was the first to respond enthusiastically, followed by Director Ford.
After eating spicy hotpot and washing it down with a cold beer, it was just too satisfying.
Everyone was quite content after the hotpot meal.
Since everyone had drunk alcohol, they ultimately called their assistants to drive them home.
Bella escorted Aiden Hayes to his hotel and handed him over to his assistant before heading home herself.
The next morning, she hadn’t even gotten out of bed when she received a call from Aiden Hayes.
"Bella, I finally understand why you had that mischievous smile," Aiden Hayes complained wretchedly.
Bella chuckled, "Got diarrhea?"
"Yeah. It started around five in the morning and hasn’t stopped yet, and... you know..." Aiden Hayes, who’s always so suave that he’d rather die than be embarrassed, couldn’t bring himself to say anything as crude as having a sore butt and just mumbled.
"I warned you before, you didn’t believe me and insisted on trying it, who can you blame?" Bella almost burst into laughter, offering a rather insincere consolation, "Don’t worry, it’ll be over by noon today."
"But I have to meet with Damian to discuss the contract this morning," Aiden Hayes said, "I’m sure this will cause me to perform poorly at the negotiating table. Bella, if I lose out, how will you make it up to me?"
"You talk as if you actually have negotiation skills, I almost believed you." Bella said, holding her phone as she went to the bathroom, turned on the speakerphone, and while squeezing her toothpaste, said, "Don’t you have a professional negotiation team? If you don’t let them step in at a time like this, when will you?"
"Bella, I misjudged you. Turns out you do care about me, you even know I brought a negotiation team." Aiden Hayes’s voice sounded full of delight.
Bella rolled her eyes at the mirror and said, "You’re here to investigate the market and start a company, it’s not like you could really come solo, right? Even your dad wouldn’t feel at ease. Alright, I have to brush my teeth now, talk to you later."
"How’s Talia?"
"She went to class with Ethan early this morning." Bella said, "She quite likes her violin classes, I’m thinking of finding her a teacher. Do you have any good recommendations?"
"There’s plenty abroad, and some here too, but I’m not that familiar with them," Aiden Hayes said.
"Never mind, I’ll keep looking myself, bye." Bella hung up the phone and was about to start brushing her teeth again when another call came in.
The number wasn’t saved, but just by looking at the digits Bella knew who was calling.
How did he get her new phone number?
Bella frowned, answered the call, and deliberately pretended not to know who it was, asking, "Hello, who’s this?"
"It’s me." Damian’s voice came through the phone, "Aren’t you going to transfer the downtown apartment back to me? If you’re busy, just give the documents to Special Assistant Lawson, he will handle it."
"I can make time."
"Why waste time on something that can be saved?" Damian paused and said, "Or do you not trust me?"
He had made it clear, what else could she say?
Bella sighed, "Alright, I need to study the script these days, so let Special Assistant Lawson come over to my godmother’s place."
"He’s already at the entrance of your complex."
