Chapter 677 - 676: The First Rule of Winning Back Your Wife (20)
Bella turned her head to look at Damian, her brows gradually furrowing.
Could Damian have arranged for someone to secretly monitor her?
Since she accidentally let it slip, there was no point in hiding it anymore.
Damian looked ahead and said, "I’m an investor in ’I Will Not Be a Concubine’."
Bella was taken aback, "So Director Rowe cast me as the lead actress because you put in a word?"
"No," Damian said. "It’s because he originally wanted you for the lead role that I decided to invest."
Although the order of events was reversed, it didn’t seem to make much difference, right?
Director Rowe originally just considered her for the lead role, but he was still hesitating. The decision was made entirely because of Damian’s investment.
No wonder Director Rowe was so straightforwardly strange when discussing the role.
"My salary..."
"That’s between the director and the executive producer; I didn’t ask about it," Damian said. "I just invested to let him make the film, without interfering in anything else."
Even though he said that, getting the lead role was definitely related to him.
Bella wasn’t someone who couldn’t tell good from bad. She had just returned home and indeed needed a role.
"Thank you," Bella said. "Even if Director Rowe originally wanted me to play the role, without you, it wouldn’t have been decided so quickly. Thank you."
"No need to thank me," Damian said.
"Yeah, yeah, Mommy, don’t be polite with Daddy," the little girl interjected. "We’re family, no need for formalities."
Damian’s lips curved into a smile, thinking his daughter was truly sweet.
Bella discreetly pinched the little girl’s bottom lightly, accusing her with her eyes, little flatterer, just waiting to sell your mommy off.
The pinch didn’t hurt at all, and the little girl wriggled her small body, giggling.
Aiden in the back seat said woefully, "Guys, I’m still here, could you please consider my feelings?"
Hearing this, Bella’s face flushed a little.
Damian replied calmly, "Mr. Hayes, if you want to buy a car, I can introduce you to the best sales agent anytime."
"I don’t want to buy one, I want to ride in Bella’s car," Aiden said.
Damian gritted his teeth, feeling like throwing this guy out of the car.
Bella said, "I don’t have a car."
Damian suddenly felt delighted. He had planned to give her a car, but now it seemed having no car was not so bad. He could drive her around.
"Bella, shouldn’t you be upholding our revolutionary friendship at a time like this? How could you do this to me?" Aiden said even more woefully.
Bella chuckled, "I really don’t have a car. If I insisted I did, that wouldn’t be called revolutionary friendship; that would be pretending to be something I’m not."
"Can’t you pretend just once for me?" Aiden said. "I could give you a few cars later."
"Swollen face is too ugly, I refuse."
A few years ago, when they first met, Aiden had given Bella a luxury car at her birthday party, thinking to woo her, but Bella directly rejected it.
As they interacted more, he realized this woman wasn’t someone who could be wooed with luxury cars and flowers. Gradually, they became good friends who could joke around.
Damian felt displeased hearing Aiden wanting to give Bella a car. Was he implying Damian couldn’t afford to buy a car for his own woman?
But hearing Bella reject the offer without a second thought made him feel pleased.
His woman, only happy to swipe his card.
