We Live in Dragon’s Peak

Lily's a worker.

Though the earth turned into scorched earth, there were still signs that this was a great forest not long ago.

Ogi that looks like a black charcoal column. Deep ash ground left after fallen leaves and winter dead grass flowers burned.

Among the remnants of such a forest lay the burnt corpses of giants and ear elders unharmed.

"Elnea, what do we do?

"Anyway, let's look for survivors. without separating the giants from the ear elders."

"Okay. I'll take a look south and west."

"Well, I'll go north and east."

Me and Mr. Carly will split up to investigate the woods that have become burnt fields.

Bypass the burnt remaining trees and proceed with caution.

I won't forget to explore the signs as I speak out to see if anyone survives.

Once you have completed the search in one place, you will travel in a spatial leap. And also, look for any survivors. Thus, me and Mr. Carly looked around at the burnt forest.

But I knew the results from the beginning.

Survivors, none.

In the evening, I joined Mr. Carly where I first stepped down.

Combined with the report from Mr Carley, apparently the area burned is large enough to be comparable to that of the King's Capital of the Kingdom of Arms.

But I couldn't find any survivors in it.

Maybe those who survived this Great Forest Fire have already left the scene.

"In the meantime, let's keep this for today. You should take the night off."

"Right. Shall we move then?"

"From a relatively close position on the west side, the remaining forest of burning is spread. Let's just say we go that far."

So me and Mr. Carley move west.

It's a burning field, and you can't camp at night in a place where burnt bodies lie all over the place.

Future investigations will take place after confirming tomorrow's sun.

As Mr. Carley put it, going west on a spatial leap allowed us to return to the Great Forest, which spared the extended burning.

The smell of burning was flowing in the wind to the back of the Great Forest, but the forest landscape calms my mind.

With pigs hunted on the move as souvenirs, me and Mr. Carley look for an affordable night out. Find the root of an affordable tree and start a fire so it doesn't catch fire.

I was allowed to meditate while Mr. Carly was dismantling the pig with his familiar hand.

Ares, who keeps assimilating, has been urging me to say 'dinner'. I cannot resist the demands of a young girl. [M]

Mr. Carley took the portable pot out of his baggage and made me a pork pot using the weeds and accompanying portable foods that were growing around him.

It's a man dish.

The flavor is really no match for the Mistrals, but the lavish flavoring ignited my appetite, which was hungry.

Me and Mr. Carly cheek up a pork pot.

"So, what do we do from tomorrow? Are you going to make contact looking for the Giants, as planned?"

"Yeah, before we do that, let's investigate the already burnt forest."

"Right. That baking method is too unnatural. Maybe even if we were to meet the Giants, we'd better know more about that fire."

The results of the investigation were very strange.

The burnt forest was beautifully separated from the one thus spared from extended burning.

Where it is burning is burning so much that the great trees become charcoal, but where it is not burning is not even burning at the tip of the dead grass. Moreover, the two features were clearly separated as they were beautifully drawn.

"And one more thing. Something bothered me. Thanks, the place where the body was rolling and where it wasn't was dotted"

"Oh, I felt that, too. Even if the forest burns while the Ear Elders and Giants are fighting, it's weird."

"If we're fighting, the same species must be acting together."

"But the burnt corpses are both giants and ear elders, clustered or isolated"

It simply didn't feel like I had strayed from my people while I was escaping the flames.

'Cause there really weren't either burnt bodies at all where there weren't any bodies, and conversely there were bodies of both ear elders and giants where the bodies lay.

"... as if the giants and ear elders were lost in the woods"

"The woods began to burn in contention, and both sides fled, but were burned nestled in the art of stray. and does Ernea think"

"I don't even know if I fit into the art of stray, but at least I don't think this fire is natural"

So who the hell burned the woods and burned the Ear Elders and the Giants to death?

The number of bodies was slightly over a hundred for the Giants. The Ear Elders have also sacrificed about twenty or so.

When it comes to the art of straying, it's the usual means of the Ear Long Clan, but this Great Forest doesn't currently have the art of straying, right? Thanks to this, Carly and I were able to investigate without getting lost.

But they can apply the technique of stray locally.

So, the Ear Elder Warriors did the trick of straying to defeat the Giants?

But if I do, I'll have even burned my people to death. Besides, you wouldn't even think about setting fire to the woods you've been protecting dearly if you were a normal ear elder.

Then the giants set fire to the woods?

If you're a giant, that's how much you could do. But it was the giants who did the most damage.

I can also think of the idea that the Ear Elders went astray in their misery and took the Giants on the road, but I still feel uncomfortable.

"It can't be the ear clan that we get lost with the technique of stray."

That's Carly's view, and I just had to snort, too.

"That means this fire is odd after all, right?

"Right...... This may be happening what I was afraid of"

What we feared. Without saying it, me and Mr. Carly spent the night resting in turn as we finished eating the leftover pork pot.

The next morning.

Wake up in cold air.

It's winter, and I'm wearing it to keep it from freezing, but it's still cold if you don't move.

Gymnastics with a white exhale to relax your chilled out body. I confirmed my plans for the day as I included Mr. Carly's warm tea in my mouth.

"Again, let's see if there are any survivors. And then I'm going to bury the dead."

"Will the Giants be buried too?"

"Yes. Divide and separate."

"Okay, I'll work with you."

So here we go.

We'll switch directions today to investigate if we miss each other. I'm south and west, Mr. Carley's north and east.

But the results weren't the same as the day before.

No survivors.

I put in an exploration to see if anyone was lurking in the surrounding woods that hadn't been burned, but I ended up empty-handed.

Has the Titans retreated east?

Has the Ear Elders retreated to the nearest village?

Whatever it was, it was just me and Mr. Carly working around the burnt woods.

You're after a burnt body, there's a large carnivorous bird flying in the sky.

Occasionally, the Great Bird of Warcraft also appeared.

I was surprised when the Big Bird attacked me, moving on a land where the forest ceiling was gone and nothing was blocking my view from the sky.

Because Lily, with her lukewarm, giant forefoot out of my shadow, slapped the big bird off.

Mr. Big Bird, you've got the wrong target.

Confirming again that there were no survivors, me and Mr. Carly changed their behavior to bury the body.

We find a hill that looks promising, and we decide to collect the remains there and put them together and bury them.

Both the Ear Elders and the Giants shall be buried together.

Mr. Carley had shown difficulty, but you don't think race differences have anything to do with mourning the deceased.

I dig a burial hole on the hill.

Mr. Carley said he was looking for flowers for the deceased Elder Ear Clan, to the West Forest.

The role of having the bodies brought from all over the burnt forest was to ask Lily.

I can't carry more than a few times as many giants as I can carry, Mr. Carly. [M] Besides, if I hauled the hell out of it because of the wide range, it would take days.

I pushed Lily into an unpleasant role. I thought so, but the Dragons don't seem to have any special feelings for people's corpses or anything.

Is it a race difference?

That is how the second day after I got down to the woods that had become burnt fields passed.

"Lily, will you get Mistral and everyone?

"Yes, yes, it's all yours."

And day three.

In the fort of the kingdom of Jortenitos, it should be time for Mr. Yun to wake up from his debilitation. In that case, it is also an opportunity to rendezvous with the Mistrals who are getting a look at how things are going.

In a situation where you're far away and Ares won't deassimilate with me, Lily's flight is the only way to quickly find out where we are.

Yes. The signs and gaze of the clutter were still felt without disappearing.

They seem to see all the action, which is disgusting.

You care about this, Ares keeps pulling inside of me, don't you?

Speaking of which, I was going to ask you about the Spirit. At this rate, it's going to be a while.

Anyway, from today on, Lily and I are acting differently.

I'm sure you'll be back soon.

The burial, while yesterday, had the remains of the Ear Elders and Giants collected to the hills, so the rest can proceed with me and Mr. Carly.

In the hole I dug on the hill, I will work with Mr. Carley to fill the dead.

Mr. Carley had a round of flowers for each of the ear elders.

He really wants to do a proper ritual and drop them off, but Mr. Carly, a warrior, doesn't seem to like those things. Still, Mr. Carly trying to give you the best drop off, that's sweet, after all. Usually it shows signs like a sharp blade, but the roots are good people.

Unfortunately, the burial work was not completed on this day alone.

It's been an unexpected stumbling block, but this is important. There's an unbroken wreck in front of you, and you can't do anything to ignore it.

In the evening, me and Mr. Carly decided to stop and go back to where we've been camping for the last two days.

"Pork pot today, because it's monotonous. Pick vegetables and simmer."

"Nice!

"Then let's go back once and see what's missing"

"I'm hungry!

"Can Elnea do the cooking?

"Ha ha..."

Of course, I can cook as much handicraft as I want. But I want Mr. Carly's masculine hand cooking!

"Undressed"

Guru, Ares' whining is my fault.

Travel through the coal-fired earth with a spatial leap into the deep woods. And go further to the night camp.

I can't help but be hungry, but I'm a little more patient.

Honestly, I feel resistant, albeit pork meat, because I'm looking at a burnt corpse. But if I had a color preference in a place like this, I wouldn't be able to help when I have to. Mr. Carly's has been hunting and cooking pigs since the first day because he knows that, too, right?

It's just not grilled meat, it is.

Travel through the woods with a spatial leap, thinking about dinner tonight.

But Mr. Carly accidentally stopped.

"Ernea......"

"Also, could...?

"Lost"

"I knew it!"

Even the Ear Elders, you can get lost in the woods, what a penetration.

Only Mr. Carley can't be lost and lost where he's been going back and forth many times.

"Maybe it's a stray technique?

"Probably."

I also noticed some discomfort along the way. I usually don't get to the night camp that I'm supposed to be arriving at. And when I made the spatial leap, I also felt strange changes in the scenery.

Mr. Carly looks around without alarm.

From what I can tell, it would seem like a normal forest if it weren't in the middle of a move, but Mr. Carley seems to be feeling sensitive and strange.

"... who's there!

And Mr. Carley flew a sharp voice to the bush.

but the bushes shake.

The person who split the bush with both hands and showed up.

Long brunette, little woman.

"Yu, yun!?

Mr. Carley is surprised at the unexpected appearance of the person.

"Why are you here alone?

"I apologize if I surprised you. But I'm not alone."

"What?"

"You guys must have gotten into the art of straying, too, huh? Me, too. I've been acting with Mistral until recently, but I think I've gone astray."

"... wouldn't it be true?

"What are we gonna do with you lying? If you don't believe me, I'll just walk away from them and look for Mistral again."

Mr. Carly looked at me, wondering how to judge.

"It's a waste to be apart again, even though we could rendezvous because of it. If we've gotten into each other's lost moves, don't think we should act together."

I took Yun's hand and smiled. [M]
