Chapter 359 - 205: That’s Right, I Contracted the Red Dragon (2)
"You were originally planning to use this Dragon Helmet to forcibly activate your bloodline and pull out the Dragon Spear?"
"But that’s not necessary anymore."
Isabella glanced at the Golden Dragon Spear that Baron was still clutching and said faintly.
Baron unashamedly accepted the Dragon Helmet, then looked at Isabella’s profile, which was partially covered in Dragon Scales. After a moment of silence, he said, "Interested in drinking some of my blood?"
Isabella raised an eyebrow. Baron explained, "I’m a Dragon Knight. The blood of a Dragon Knight seems to have a suppressive effect on dragon-related illnesses."
"The Magic Potion you had me drink last time..."
"That was my blood."
Baron used his Spear Sword to cut open his palm. He had intended to pour the blood into a vial, but Isabella grabbed his hand and began to suck on the wound directly.
"Constantine, my man, we’re rich... You two carry on..."
Jack, who had just finished inventorying the valuables from Dewey’s Holding Ring, came over, saw the scene, and silently retreated.
If Jack hadn’t said anything, it would have been fine. Baron’s mind hadn’t started to wander. Even with the sudden move, he just figured the eldest daughter was impatient. Besides, it wasn’t as if they hadn’t been in close contact when he’d held her hostage before.
But now that Jack had pointed it out, Baron realized the current scene was indeed a bit risqué.
First of all, Isabella had been sitting next to him on the dragon’s back, a short distance away. But when she had suddenly pulled his hand, their bodies had inevitably come into contact.
And so, the eldest daughter’s body—which Baron already found to be curvaceous and incredibly alluring—was now pressed firmly against his side. The faint scent of blood mingled with the smell of herbs.
Especially from Baron’s current angle. Setting aside Isabella’s already cold and stunningly beautiful face, just the sight of her prominent bust from the side, her fair collarbones, combined with the tingling sensation on his palm... ’She’s not using her tongue, is she?’
Baron was suddenly alarmed. His mind flashed back to what he’d seen on the woman’s bed when he’d first returned. He thought, ’If Isabella...’
But then Isabella released his hand. Her full lips were blood-red, and traces of blood stained the sculpted corners of her mouth. It added a touch of demonic charm to her peerless, icy beauty.
To put it in layman’s terms, it was like the aloof, glasses-wearing teacher-next-door looking at you with disgust while wearing black stockings.
"Control your eyes."
Isabella said coldly, wiping the blood from her lips. She then stood up and walked along the dragon’s back to the onlooker, Jack. "Are there any parachutes left?"
Jack said there was one more.
"Give it to me."
As Jack was about to hand it over, Baron quipped from the side, "I think you’d better keep it. You can’t compare your physical fitness to Miss Isabella’s."
Jack didn’t understand the meaning behind Baron’s words and gave the parachute to Isabella anyway.
As Isabella put on the parachute and prepared to leave, Baron called out to her, "Back in the mountains, how did you start suspecting me?"
"Your eyes."
"My eyes?"
Isabella said coldly, "If you’ve stared into someone’s eyes for many years, no matter how much time has passed, you’ll recognize them in an instant."
"You recognized me from the very beginning? Why didn’t you expose me?"
"I wasn’t sure at first, because of your eye color and your Chinese. I only confirmed it when I was on watch at the summit that night..."
’Confirmed it on the summit at night?’ Baron wondered. ’Could it be that I revealed something was off while I was meditating?’
"That Secret Notes in your hand," Isabella said. "I have one too."
Wha... what?
Baron was stunned.
But before he could ask, Isabella turned and leaped from above the clouds.
Then Jack came over and patted Baron’s shoulder. "You’re really something else, man. So the aloof eldest daughter of the Beowulf Family was in your pocket all those years ago."
Baron: "..."
He ignored Jack and instead looked down at the Golden Dragon Spear he was still holding tightly.
Jack followed his gaze and said in surprise, "Oh yeah, Constantine, how did you pull out the Dragon Spear? Holy crap, this thing looks like it’s pure gold. It must be worth a fortune."
"Constantine, my man, I have a proposal. How about you..."
Jack trailed off and suddenly shut his mouth. The nine Dragon Patterns on the Golden Dragon Spear lit up in unison. The patterns swam into Baron’s arm and vanished, along with the spear itself.
Baron pushed up his sleeve. Nine Golden Dragon Patterns were now attached to his arm. In a daze, he once again heard the voice of the eye from beneath the firmament whisper in his ear:
"Obtain the Law Fragment, revive the Emperor..."
’Damn it,’ Baron thought. ’Which Emperor are they even talking about? Don’t tell me this is one of those "I am the First Emperor, send money" scams.’
’Is this thing on my arm a tattoo? What if I can’t get a government job in the future because of it? Hmm... the United Kingdom probably isn’t that strict about it.’
’Besides scaring the crap out of Dragon Descendants, does this Golden Dragon Spear have any other uses?’
Baron tried to infuse Spiritual Power into the nine dark Dragon Patterns on his arm. After infusing the first one, the Dragon Spear appeared in the form of a vine. Only after he poured in more Spiritual Power did it take on its golden form.
After infusing the second pattern, the shaft of the Dragon Spear naturally turned a light purple, as if coated in some kind of poison.
He couldn’t infuse the third pattern. It seemed the big-eyed thing from the starry sky had placed some kind of restriction on the Dragon Spear.
Baron retracted the Dragon Spear and looked at Jack. "We’ve hitched a ride long enough. Time to get off."
Jack didn’t ask, "Where are we going?" Instead, he asked, "How are we getting down?"
"Flying Dragon Bad never stops flying, so he won’t land for us. Besides, there might be Law Enforcers secretly tailing us. We need to jump," Baron said. "See that mountain peak up ahead? That’s our stop."
Jack looked toward the peak Baron was pointing at... but he couldn’t see a thing.
He backed away repeatedly, indicating that this was not something a D Level Commissioner like him could handle.
What kind of D Level Commissioner keeps a parachute, a personal rocket launcher, and a diving suit in their Holding Ring? That was a loadout you’d rarely even see in a spy movie.
Baron complained internally but said aloud, "This is why I told you to save a parachute earlier."
Jack said, "So what now? I can’t expect you to break my fall."
Baron sighed, told Flying Dragon Bad to circle the summit, and then jumped, grabbing Jack’s arm. Wings of coalescing fire unfurled from his back.
...
After a smooth landing, Jack watched Flying Dragon Bad disappear once more into a bank of storm clouds and thunderbolts. He asked Baron, "Baron, did you really form a contract with Flying Dragon Bad?"
Baron shook his head. "No. My Dragon Flame and Bad’s powers aren’t the same type."
"Then why was he willing to carry us out of the Dracul Mountain Range?" Jack stroked his chin, analyzing the situation. "I remember you challenged Flying Dragon Bad to a duel. Was that some kind of code word?"
"It wasn’t a code word. I really am going to duel him, just not now. I used that challenge to get him to give me three years. When the time comes, I’ll return to the Dracul Mountain Range, transform into a Red Dragon, and fight him..."
"Transform into a Red Dragon? That’s at least Silver level, right? Don’t tell me you plan to go from Bronze to Silver in just three years... Wait!"
Jack stared dumbly at Baron’s back. "Did you just say you’re going to transform into a Red Dragon?"
"Yeah."
"A Red Dragon!"
"Yeah."
"Which Red Dragon?"
"Are there any other Red Dragons in Europe?"
"The legendary Red Dragon that exists outside of the Three Great Dragon Kings?"
Baron nodded.
Then Jack suddenly grabbed his head with both hands and yelled, "OMG."
"You... you you... you..." Jack stammered.
"A Red Dragon? How is that possible? Wasn’t the Red Dragon killed by the Dragon Witch years ago? How could you have a contract with it?"
Baron didn’t understand why Jack was reacting so strongly to his contract with the Red Dragon. He coughed and said, "It’s a long story, so let’s not get into it."
"By the way, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you, but I forgot earlier."
"What is it?" Jack’s voice was still a bit dazed, clearly not having recovered from the news about Baron’s contract with the Red Dragon.
Baron considered his words for a moment before asking, "Why did you bring me to the Beowulf Family? Was that the plan Westminster Cathedral gave you from the start?"
He thought, ’Was the plan from the beginning to go raid the Beowulf Family’s stash together?’
"What? What do you mean, bring you to the Beowulf Family?" Jack snapped back to his senses. "I was wondering how you suddenly disappeared from Ben Mountain and then just showed up at the Beowulf Family’s place!"
Baron just smiled.
His blood ran cold.
