What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

My next lesson was history which was a subject that was quite interesting for me.

This lesson was specifically teaching us about how the Academy came to be which basically told of how goddess Isre basically wanted a place where people could just focus on improving their skills without worry.

One of her Comissars thus took it upon themselves to claim this land for themselves for the sole purpose of fulfilling the goddess’s wish.

Apparently these islands weren’t actually floating to begin with but were just a bunch of regular islands that jutted out above the surface of the sea.

The Comissar then asked for a miracle from the goddess herself which she granted and made all of these islands float up into the sky to turn it into a floating fortress.

They then started recruiting like minded people to build this academy, aiming to be a place where people could come to learn and practice their skills and magic without worry of the world outside.

But well... Things obviously aren’t that simple as other factions in the World would see a bunch of floating islands in the sky and tag it as prime real estate for the taking.

The people of the Academy could not allow their new home to be taken so they had to establish themselves as an independent faction and found what was basically a new country even though their primary goal was still to create a place of learning.

In the early years, the other factions were still cautious of the sudden appearance of the floating islands and only sent scouts to explore the islands.

But the people here then turned them away, stating that this place was claimed and they were not allowing other people to claim the islands for anyone else.

The scouts would then leave before a small team would appear and try to claim the islands by force, only to be repelled which then escalated into a small war.

The interesting part was that the group that was sent to attack the islands did not actually bear the flag or emblem of any single faction and were operating as thought they were bandits.

But people have theorised that the group actually belonged to several different countries sending troops to attack the floating islands in order to claim parts of it for each faction.

In the end, the Academy managed to repel the invading force before declaring themselves a sovereign nation.

Thus, even though they were still an Academy in name and function, they were still operating like an actual country with diplomats, a workforce and a standing army.

That was what got covered in the first lesson and time quite literally flew by before I knew it as the bell rang for the end of the lesson.

I actually felt a little disappointed that the lesson ended there and while I know that the lesson was most definitely a tool to kind of brainwash the students here a little to foster some semblance of loyalty to the Academy... I was just looking at it from a purely academic point of view.

I checked my schedule after that and found I had another meeting with Chancellor Vastraea again.

Despite her telling me she’s really busy... She’s scheduling quite a lot of meetings with me these two days huh?

Though I suspect the reason for that was because of all the things being whispered around the Academy about me right now...

I packed up my things and headed out of the classroom to step onto the teleportation platform, teleporting myself to the Grand Spire once again.

I walked up to the doors and this time, the guard simply nodded at me, "Student... Aster, right? Here to see the Grand Chancellor again?"

I nodded.

He didn’t even ask to see my schedule and simply stepped aside and allowed me to pass.

I teleported up to the Chancellor’s study and appeared on the teleportation platform.

This time, she was kneeling beside it when I appeared, making me wonder if she had something in the tower that would tell her I had arrived or something...

"Umm... You can get up, Chancellor Vastraea..." I told her, prompting her to rise up to her feet.

"Aster... Thank you for coming."

"I’m assuming something happened again for you to call me here? Or is this supposed to be an actual lesson?"

She hesitated for a moment before she answered my question, "Umm... Well... Yes and no... I did want to have a lesson with you today but... I overheard some things that I thought I should at least confirm with you to check if it’s true..."

She then gestured to the table, indicating that we should continue the conversation there instead.

I followed her over where I sat down on the chair in front of her table, watching the Chancellor move behind her desk to settle down behind it.

She fiddled with her fingers for a moment as though considering how she should broach the topic first before finally speaking.

"I suppose I should just address the first problem before anything else... Remember what we talked about at the end yesterday, Aster?"

I managed to keep my face neutral, "Is it about the rumours that were spreading around where I’m supposedly trying to take over the school and bullying everyone or something?"

She nodded, "I’ve been keeping tabs on the rumours but... It seems like it got even worse in just a day so I was wondering if you would like me to do something about it? I could mobilise the staff of the school to help you deal with the rumours, maybe even spread our own information that you aren’t actually such a person."

Ah right... I guess I should actually tell her about the plan... And since I’m already here... I guess I might as well tell her about the other thing I’m worried about too because I realised that I might not really have the time to deal with it with all the classes I’m taking.

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Chancellor? So... There’s some things I need to tell you first... I’ve decided that it would be better for me to just embrace the role of the villain and just play along with those rumours instead."

The Chancellor blinked at me for a good few seconds, as though she was having trouble comprehending what I just said.

It took her a full minute before she finally managed to open her mouth to speak again, "You... Are ’embracing’ the role of being a villain?"

I nodded, "Yeah. I figured that this role would bring me the most benefit anyway so we might as well take advantage of it instead of trying to deny it."

She lifted one of her hands to clutch at her head, "I... See? I... Hmm... I guess... If that’s what you want to do? Umm... Just to be sure... Goddess Isre has no problems with this arrangement... Right?"

I shrugged, "I dunno... She hasn’t appeared before me to tell me that she’s against it at the very least?"

I was worried that her fanatic side might see my declaration of being a villain in this school as a sign of being against her goddess or something but... She just slowly nodded her head at the end and just accepted it.

She let out a deep sigh, "I see... In that case, do you need me to spread more rumours about you, Aster? Maybe... Make you more sinister or evil looking?"

I shook my head quickly, "No, no... There’s no need. I think it’s better to just let things happen naturally instead."

Honestly, I’m more afraid that she would be way too eager and then spread some rumours that are way more extreme and then make things go way out of hand instead...

She didn’t argue and just nodded, "I understand. Please let me know if you need any help from the faculty, student Aster. Umm... And if there are any problems that come up from you playing this role... Don’t hesitate to tell me as well."

I nodded, "I’ll keep that in mind. On that note though... There is one problem that I think you should know as well.."

I reached out my hand and materialised the drawing of the heart shaped pendant in my palm before showing it to her.

"Just to let you know... There’s a conspiracy by the demons trying to open a portal to their plane of existence using this pendant that they are using to gather mana or something. I believe they have given this pendant to someone in the school and making them believe it’s some kind of enchanted artefact that will help them grow stronger or something along those lines..."

She frowned at the drawing, "A demon conspiracy? What are you talking about, Aster?"

I let out a sigh, figuring that I might as well just tell her everything at this point.

Oh well, let’s make some tea, Chancellor~ It’s going to be a rather long story~
