Xi Siyan rubbed his temples, finally understanding the meaning of being afflicted by gains and losses.

Even though Zhou Chengchen liked him so much, just a tiny mistake could still leave his mind unable to remain completely rational.

Xi Siyan smiled faintly, grabbed the competition questions, and started working through them.

When you really think about it, the courses throughout high school are actually most intense in the second year, while the tension of the third year is more of an atmosphere.

After talking things over with Xi Siyan, Zhou Chengchen didn’t deliberately avoid spending time with Liu Xiaoyu. In Zhou Chengchen’s eyes, Liu Xiaoyu was genuinely very simple, with no complicated matters in their interactions, making it very peaceful.

And Zhou Chengchen also understood why someone like Liu Xiaoyu, who was severely unbalanced in his studies but very interested in competitions, didn’t pursue the competition route, but instead followed the regular college entrance exam path like an ordinary student.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to; it’s just that his family was relatively traditional and only wanted their son to follow the regular path.

Even the reason he didn’t make it to the end in the robotics competition and other activities he participated in was due to family reasons.

Liu Xiaoyu was very good at math and the integrated science subjects; his scores in these subjects were always ahead of Zhou Chengchen, the top of the class. But his Chinese and English were really his weak points.

The gap in math and integrated science allowed him to rank within the top ten of the class, but because of Chinese and English, he could never break into the top five.

Sometimes when Zhou Chengchen watched him desperately memorize words and work on Chinese test papers, yet still achieve unsatisfactory results, he suddenly felt that he was quite pitiful.

Soon, B City embraced the height of summer again, the stuffy weather adding a bit of impatience to the already tense second-year courses.

This afternoon, it was rare to have a physical education class that wasn’t taken over. The teacher was considerate enough not to grill them under the scorching sun, instead holding class in the gym.

Yet even so, returning to the classroom afterward, Zhou Chengchen was still drenched in sweat.

"Zhou Chengchen, someone’s looking for you."

Zhou Chengchen lay on the desk, not wanting to move at all.

Upon hearing someone call her, she turned her head slightly to look outside the door, immediately sat up straight, and quickly got up to go out: "Why did you come down?"

Xi Siyan was holding a cushion and a cup of milk tea and handed them to Zhou Chengchen.

Zhou Chengchen recognized it as the milk tea they had bought after lunch earlier together, so it was meant for her.

"If it was for me, why didn’t you give it to me at lunch? Now you had to trouble yourself with another trip."

"Drinking two cups in a row will give you a stomachache."

Xi Siyan explained casually, and Zhou Chengchen quickly figured it out; she also bought a cup at noon and, due to the heat, had asked the vendor to add a lot of ice.

So Xi Siyan was trying to help her restrain herself?

Zhou Chengchen laughed: "Thank you, considerate classmate Xi."

Xi Siyan was speechless: "Go inside, I’m heading back up."

"Mm-hmm."

The milk tea wasn’t very cold anymore, but that didn’t matter. The cushion Xi Siyan brought over was nice and cool. Zhou Chengchen knew these cushions were selling well at the school gate but had never used one.

Putting it on her seat, it wasn’t very cold, but compared to the current high temperatures, it was already quite comfortable.

Zhou Chengchen shifted her butt, took another sip of milk tea, and looked out the window. Despite the scorching summer and tense courses, she still felt incredibly happy.

Soon it would be the end of the semester, just one more year, just one more year, and she would firmly engrave the title of "Xi Siyan’s girlfriend" onto herself.
