The voice of Zhou Qi’s nagging came from the other end of the phone. Only then did Zhou Chengchen remember: the plane, her flight to the United Kingdom was in a little while.

Zhou Chengchen was still in a daze, her soul still wandering, her body’s shell driven purely by instinct, flagging down a cab, giving the address, going home.

Her luggage was all packed, and when she returned home, dinner was already prepared.

There was a constant stream of nagging in her ears, but Zhou Chengchen didn’t know what specifically was being said; her heart was in turmoil, chaotic and conflicted.

After dinner, she picked up her suitcase, stepped out the door, got into the car, and headed to the airport.

The entire Zhou Family accompanied her, and all the way to the airport, there was still incessant nagging in Zhou Chengchen’s ears. She hadn’t really listened, just mechanically but miraculously responded with occasional "um" and "ah" as if to acknowledge.

At the airport, changing the boarding pass, passing through customs.

These were all things Zhou Chengchen knew how to handle with ease; she didn’t need to think to know what to do. In the midst of this hubbub, Zhou Chengchen had already completed all the procedures and was sitting in the international flight waiting area.

Looking at the boarding pass in her hand, the familiar string of English letters, Zhou Chengchen’s eyes were unfocused, her mind still exceedingly chaotic.

She merely wanted to come back to accompany her brother to see the stage he once yearned for; she just wanted her loving brother to return to that arena, instead of abandoning this final chance for her.

But these past two days, it seemed the world had changed.

Everything she once believed in, everything she deliberately ignored over the years, seemed to have flipped, like the flipping of soil.

Xiao Rou’s words, Liu Xiaoyu’s words, An Rui’s words...

Along with Xi Siyan’s kiss and his words, "I miss you."

The airport was noisy, yet Zhou Chengchen seemed to hear none of it, she was fully immersed in her own world.

——

Meanwhile, in another apartment, Liu Xiaoyu carried a pile of things, opened the door, walked familiarly to the bedroom, where a person lay on the bed. He tiptoed forward and reached out to touch the person’s forehead, it was scalding hot.

Liu Xiaoyu frowned, and the person on the bed also opened his eyes due to his actions, his eyes were bloodshot, and his lips were terribly chapped.

"Boss, let’s go to the hospital. Your fever hasn’t gone down yet."

Xi Siyan also frowned, forcing himself to sit up: "It’s fine, trouble you, pour me a cup of water."

"Okay."

Liu Xiaoyu nodded, went out to pour Xi Siyan a cup of warm water, and brought in the things he had just bought: "Boss, I just bought some porridge at the porridge shop outside. Eat a bit, then take some medicine."

"Thanks."

"The matter with the company has been sorted out. Don’t worry, you’re too tired, take a good rest."

Xi Siyan, originally pale, now looked even paler, but his eyes were extremely red, resembling a giant rabbit.

Receiving the porridge from Liu Xiaoyu’s hand, he drank a couple of mouthfuls, the warmth spread and his stomach immediately felt much better, though his head was heavy, and his whole body felt sticky and uncomfortable.

"She came to find you today, about what?"

Having eaten half a bowl of porridge, Xi Siyan asked. Yesterday they worked overtime together and slept in the office together. Only this morning, his fever wouldn’t break, and he had no choice but to return, while Zhou Chengchen had arranged to meet Liu Xiaoyu, which Xi Siyan knew about.

Liu Xiaoyu adjusted his glasses, hiding nothing from the boss he admired. He explained everything meticulously and at the end, shared the conclusion he had reached through reason and logic.

"Boss, there was surely some misunderstanding between you two at the time."
