Chapter 1244: He Didn’t Come
On the third night, Zhou Chengchen finally ran out of patience. She sent a final message to Xi Siyan, telling him that she would wait for him the next day on the second floor of the milk tea shop they often visited.
No matter what his decision was, she hoped he would explain it to her face-to-face instead of just sending two inexplicable texts to let it pass.
After the college entrance exam days, the June heat finally arrived. Zhou Chengchen put on a white bell-sleeved dress.
Her hair was neatly combed, and as she headed downstairs, she saw An Rui and Zhou Qi standing there.
Zhou Qi had been staying at the An Family these past few days, and returning suddenly, his face looked like he was in a very good mood.
"Cheng Chen, have you missed your brother these days?"
These past few days had been difficult for Zhou Chengchen, very difficult. But she wasn’t the type to lock herself up and cry. She was relying on her confidence to extend her patience.

But right now, Zhou Chengchen didn’t respond to Zhou Qi. She wasn’t in the mood.
"Cheng Chen, An Rui and I are planning to take a trip to Europe. Would you like to come with us? Maybe bring along Xi Siyan too?"
Zhou Chengchen still didn’t respond, just changed her shoes and left with a final word: "We’ll see."
Arriving at the milk tea shop, she found their familiar spot and sat down. Zhou Chengchen ordered two drinks as soon as she came in. She believed Xi Siyan would come, whether he was struggling or had really changed his feelings, she believed he would come.
Zhou Chengchen trusted in Xi Siyan’s character, and she was still convinced he liked her.
A person who had been so gentle and kind to her before, suddenly saying that his feelings changed—how could she possibly believe that?
As time ticked by, Zhou Chengchen lost count of how many cups of milk tea she ordered, yet the seat across from her remained empty.
Zhou Chengchen didn’t send another message to Xi Siyan, just quietly waited there.
Finally, a staff member from the milk tea shop came up to her saying they were closing. Zhou Chengchen still didn’t see the person who was supposed to come.
When she walked out of the milk tea shop, it was already ten o’clock, and the sky outside was dark.
Zhou Chengchen was never a person with much patience to begin with. After these four days, her patience had completely worn out.
She originally wanted an explanation, she wanted a reason.
But now, she seemed not to want anything at all.
Her original self-confidence seemed to vanish along with her patience. Could something like this really happen? For boys, does changing heart really happen in just an instant?
Why didn’t Xi Siyan come?
Did he outright ignore her text? Or did he not know how to face her? Didn’t dare to face her? So he could only escape?
Zhou Chengchen didn’t know; she really didn’t know anything.
"Huh? Zhou Chengchen, what are you doing here?"
Suddenly, a voice sounded beside her. Zhou Chengchen looked over, expression wooden, to see Chen Youran standing a few steps ahead, looking normal.
Zhou Chengchen didn’t want to talk to her. Not only did they not get along, but she currently didn’t want to talk to anyone.
Ignoring Chen Youran, Zhou Chengchen continued to walk forward.
"Zhou Chengchen."
Yet Chen Youran called out to her, "About what happened back then, I still want to apologize to you. I admit I liked Xi Siyan at the time, so I was jealous of you. But now I’ve come to terms with it; school-time feelings are always unreliable. I’m apologizing to you and wishing that you’ll be happy in the future. Some people are meant to be part of the past."
