Chapter 1711 - 1015: Dragon Hunter Armor!
"Isn’t it a bit too much to arrange it like this?"
You’re Losric, a city that clearly sides with dragons, why would you have Dragon Hunter Armor guarding the gate?
Wouldn’t your dragon allies have nightmares if they saw this!
Leon was overwhelmed with thoughts he’d love to express, but the current situation seemed unlikely to give him the time to vent.
Human’s Pus, a mad dog monster that adventurers can encounter when they first enter the Sain Dungeon—it’s essentially an adventurer’s first mad dog, known for its chaotic and ferocious combat style, and it’s a particularly tenacious resilient dog.
Dragon Hunter Armor, a formidable figure that appeared during Sain Dungeon’s first revolt, known for an equally bold and brave combat style, with resilience many times higher than Human’s Pus.
Pilgrimage Butterfly... Leon had never seen it before and didn’t know its nature, but it seemed to be similar to Moonlight Butterfly, probably capable of using high-damage magic attacks.
Two berserkers and a long-range output mage; this team setup is quite complete, more oppressive than what King Yum gave him.
Then let’s employ tactics for when forced into a one-against-many scenario, start with....
There was no more time for thought; Dragon Hunter Armor had already moved. Its movements didn’t seem fast, yet with one stride, it crossed the hundred-meter gap between Leon and itself. The Fierce Dragon Shield, as wide and thick as a city gate, came crashing down with overwhelming momentum!
Just the sight of this posture could probably turn an ordinary flying dragon into mincemeat.
Leon’s heartbeat skipped a beat. At this distance, he only had time for a sidestep dodge. He ducked and maneuvered deftly under the giant shield. The shield slammed down behind him, and before he could catch a breath, Dragon Hunter Armor spun around swiftly, the giant axe capable of decapitating an Ancient Dragon cleaving in from the side.
Even before the axe blade arrived, the gale from its swing whipped all the dust and debris from the bridge into the air.
Leon rolled to the side, the axe blade grazing his back and smashing the stone pillars at the bridge’s edge.
He hadn’t even gotten up from his roll when a shadow descended—Pilgrimage Butterfly launched red magic energy projectiles, each as large as a human head, emitting ominous dark red light, cascading from mid-air. With no time to rise, he initiated the Hound Step in a pose reminiscent of a Hound Knight, lunging forward, close to the ground.
The projectiles hit where he had just been prone, blasting a row of scorched craters into the bridge, evidently powerful.
However, just dodging these assaults wasn’t enough. No sooner had he slid out of the projectile’s range than he ran headlong into the frenzied Human’s Pus.
The gigantic black ooze that erupted from the Yellow Dragon’s husk had overtaken the bridge’s rear half. Somehow it seemed even larger than before, with countless black tendrils reaching out from its writhing mass. Sensing Leon, all tendrils oriented towards him, surging like a black wave.
Leon slammed Bordeaux Hammer into the bridge, using immense fighting qi to unleash the combat skill Frozen Frost Step, forming a barrier of solid ice in front of him. The tendrils collided with the ice wall, sending shards flying everywhere. Several tendrils slipped through the cracks in the ruptured ice wall, scraping past his body—a perilous situation.
Dragon Hunter Armor was charging from the left rear, the giant axe raised above its head.
He immediately dodged to the right, the giant axe a second later cleaving the spot he had stood, the blade deeply embedded in the bridge, a crack forming from the impact spreading across its surface, unsettling Leon’s footing slightly.
This momentary stumble brought Pilgrimage Butterfly’s second wave of red energy projectiles overhead. He couldn’t dodge in time and could only raise Bordeaux Hammer above his head, smashing into the projectiles, one after another detonating on the hammer’s head, hot red light points spilling over him, numbing his arms, and eroding his armor into a bumpy mess.
Before the descending light points could all land, the Human’s Pus from behind crashed into his back, sending Leon flying, then a shield bash from Dragon Hunter Armor slammed him back again.
He managed to twist in midair and land, yet hadn’t found his footing before these three leader-level monsters charged simultaneously.
This scene could really... scare an ordinary person to tears!
The trio’s attacks left no gaps. He had just dodged past Human’s Pus tendrils when Dragon Hunter Armor’s giant axe was already in front of him. After evading the axe, Pilgrimage Butterfly’s projectiles came raining down, dodged those, and Human’s Pus’ next wave surged in again. Undergoing wave after wave of attacks rendered him unable to swing Bordeaux Hammer, let alone grasp the Holy Bell to cast miracles. Any attack with even a slight prelude was impossible to perform.
In his hands, Bordeaux Hammer turned into purely defensive equipment, given no opportunities to strike. After a few minutes, his shoulder pads, wrist guards, and leg guards and other gear were on the brink of shattering, some already broken, exposing a body full of scars. Though not severe wounds, his dodging skills were honed to perfection.
