Chapter 1309: Good Behavior, Time Served
After a brief exchange with the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign and the Thief Ancestor, the two top scientists in his eyes, Dean Gao concluded that he needed to start learning cultivation from scratch and first grasp the most fundamental principles.
“Then shall we return to the Dao-Seeking Sect?” Lu Yang asked. The Dao-Seeking Sect was essentially a miniature Cultivation World, with a comprehensive collection of foundational cultivation knowledge and the hundred arts of cultivation.
“Very well.”
After going around in circles, Dean Gao and the aid team returned to the Dao-Seeking Sect once again.
Lu Yang led them to the scripture library and asked Elder Tao to teach them. Elder Tao managed the scripture library and knew its books by heart. With his profound knowledge and cultivation at the Transcendent Tribulation Stage, he was the ideal teacher.
The Ether avatar wished to understand cultivation knowledge and also decided to remain in the scripture library.
Before leaving, Lu Yang asked Dean Gao for a pair of the latest quantum communicators.
Dean Gao was bewildered. “Are you planning to study this thing?”
Lu Yang shook his head with a smile. “No. I want to produce some of this stuff to use first.”
“Produce?” Dean Gao was even more perplexed. You haven’t even figured out the principles, yet you can produce it?
Worried that an explanation would only muddle Dean Gao further, Lu Yang said nothing more and headed for Incarceration Peak.

“Little Mo, once you’re out, do not disgrace the Great Yu’s name!”
“Little Duan, don’t forget the knowledge we, the Great Qian, have taught you. Use it well out there and don’t come back until you’ve made something of yourself!”
“Shifus, take care!” Mo Xiaochou and Duan Qingshui had tears pouring down their faces.
The two had been caught by Lu Yang for stealing from the Xitian Temple. Before being imprisoned in Incarceration Peak, never in their wildest dreams had they imagined that they would one day be reluctant to leave. Although the Great Yu and Great Qian elders had been harsh with them, the two knew it was to ensure they learned something of real substance.
“Little Mo, although your cultivation is a bit low, we believe in you. You’ll definitely catch up and surpass Duan Qingshui!”
“Little Duan, get your act together! Your cultivation is ahead of that Mo boy. Don’t let him overtake you!”
Both the Great Qian and Great Yu cultivators had once been outstanding talents. Although they were imprisoned on Incarceration Peak, their horizons extended far beyond its confines.
Guan Shanhai had proposed that the two factions reduce their conflicts. Instead, each would select a prisoner and devote themselves to nurturing them, then see whose disciple fared better after being released. The Midheaven Emperor and the Fate Arbiter had agreed to Guan Shanhai’s peace proposal.
Now that the two were finally released, it was time for them to spread their wings and fulfill their ambitions.
Upon arriving at Incarceration Peak, Lu Yang was momentarily taken aback to see both factions overcome with emotion as they bid farewell to Mo Xiaochou and Duan Qingshui.
The Grand-Shifu explained to Lu Yang that the two had displayed good behavior, turned over a new leaf, and had their sentences reduced. Today was the day of their release.
Lu Yang’s expression grew peculiar. Given the zeal with which both the Great Qian and Great Yu factions had taken turns tutoring these two, they could probably call themselves the successors of both dynasties. When these two go out into the world, they may actually make something of themselves.
“S-Senior Lu Yang.” Mo Xiaochou and Duan Qingshui spotted Lu Yang at the exit and tensed up. This was a reflexive response from their long stay at Incarceration Peak.
“You've done well. You’re even getting released.” Lu Yang nodded with his hands behind his back, like a high-ranking official inspecting Incarceration Peak’s operations and checking in on two inmates who had finished serving their sentences.
“You’ve stayed on Incarceration Peak for some time. What are your thoughts?”
Mo Xiaochou immediately put on a fawning smile. “Nothing in particular, just that Incarceration Peak is wonderful. Senior Lu Yang, we have troubled you.”
“Really?”
Duan Qingshui nodded vigorously. “Yes, we speak from the heart. The elders are erudite, their teaching methods are flexible and varied, and the curriculum was rich and practical. They truly combined theory with practice. If given the chance, we’d come again.”
Lu Yang nodded along until the last part registered. “Hmm?” His voice rose an octave.
“Ah, no, I mean... if given the chance, we’d come visit the seniors.”
Lu Yang waved casually and warned coldly, “Alright, that’s enough, off with you both. If I hear of you causing trouble again, it won’t be as simple as getting locked up on Incarceration Peak.”
“Yes, yes. Once we’re out, we’ll obey the law and keep our noses clean.” The two bowed and scraped before hurrying away from Incarceration Peak.
Lu Yang walked over to Guan Shanhai with a smile.
“What do you need from me?” Guan Shanhai asked before Lu Yang said anything.
Lu Yang produced a pair of quantum communicators from behind his back. “Can you imprint this thing?”
“What is this?” Guan Shanhai was surprised. He had never seen something like it before. The craftsmanship was exquisite, and the only strange thing about it was the absence of spirit-qi-drawing arrays. This doesn’t look like a magical treasure.
“An extraterrestrial creation.” Lu Yang didn’t elaborate.
“I can imprint them.” Guan Shanhai nodded. Whether magical treasure or extraterrestrial creation, it made no difference. The Imprint Dao Fruit represented rules that applied both within and outside the Cultivation World.
“I need a bit of spirit qi,” Guan Shanhai said. He didn’t have the slightest bit of spirit qi on him, so he couldn't use either his Dao Fruit or spells.
Lu Yang handed him a low-grade spirit stone. Guan Shanhai touched it and absorbed it completely. With the quantum communicator in one hand and the emptied spirit stone in the other, Guan Shanhai activated his imprint spell.
The spirit stone’s structure shifted, gradually taking the form of the quantum communicator. His imprint technique and Dao Fruit couldn’t create something from nothing. They required a material of similar mass to serve as a medium.
“Here, take a look.”
Lu Yang took the imprinted quantum communicator and examined it. He was delighted to see that it did work. Mass-producing quantum communicators and other Interstellar Alliance technologies couldn’t rely on Guan Shanhai’s Dao Fruit indefinitely. This was merely for emergency purposes. He would figure out the rest after dealing with the Zhutian Civilization.
Low-grade spirit stones were piled up before Guan Shanhai. He needed to imprint them all into quantum communicators. He was a one-man production line.
Soon, Lu Yang returned with a full haul and distributed the quantum communicators to the major factions.
“Immortal Fairy, why have you been quiet the whole way?” Lu Yang was puzzled. He used to find the Everlasting Immortal Fairy’s chatter annoying, but he was unaccustomed to the sudden silence in his mental space.
The Everlasting Immortal Fairy lay on the bed, hugging a pillow in contemplation. “This immortal is pondering the future of the Cultivation World.”
“The future of the Cultivation World?” Lu Yang nearly jumped out of his skin. The Immortal Fairy can actually think about such grand questions with that brain of hers?
“This immortal was thinking—during the meeting, wasn’t it said that the Cultivation World currently has only a dozen or so half-immortals?”
“That’s right. What about it?” Lu Yang didn’t quite follow.
The Everlasting Immortal Fairy leaped up from the bed excitedly, her eyes sparkling like stars. She waved her pillow like a banner of freedom. “Doesn’t that mean this immortal is the only immortal in the Cultivation World right now?
"Since Lass Yun isn’t around, I can do whatever I want! From now on, this immortal is the master of the Cultivation World!”
Lu Yang was speechless. Immortal Fairy, perhaps you should stop talking. Actually, I think having some peace and quiet in my mental space is pretty nice, too.
