Chapter 1327: Big Senior Sister Often Mentions Me?
“Often in seclusion?” Granny was slightly surprised. She took a bite of an unfamiliar fruit, said to be a specialty from some culinary planet. “Didn’t you say that most of the changes in the world outside are related to that little fellow Lu Yang? It sounds like he’s very active out there. I didn’t expect someone like that to often be in seclusion.”
Yun Zhi’s expression betrayed nothing as she explained, “Actually, Little Junior Brother is a very honest person. He was simply caught up in those events. It was never his intention to get involved. I only picked out some interesting stories to share with you.
“Most of the time, he’s cultivating in seclusion. He is at a stage where his cultivation is advancing rapidly, so he ought to seize this chance to train. If he slacks off now, he’ll lose that momentum, which will be detrimental to his future cultivation.”
“So that’s how it is.” Granny finally understood. Lu Yang is truly a well-behaved boy.
Yun Zhi breathed a sigh of relief. I’ve finally managed to smooth things over with Granny.
Every time she came home, she would have to share interesting developments from the outside world, and Lu Yang inevitably came up, so Granny had been curious about him for a long time.
The two continued chatting about everyday matters, and time flew by.
Granny brought up the time Yun Zhi was caught reading under her blankets as a child, making Yun Zhi a bit embarrassed. Just then, a lively commotion came from outside.
“What’s going on?” Granny was puzzled, her attention successfully diverted. She went out to check on the situation.
“It’s probably Mengmeng. She’s always this lively when she returns.”
Yun Zhi rose to her feet and followed her, only to see a bevy of beautiful women gathered around Yun Mengmeng and Lu Yang, looking them over.
Yun Zhi was speechless. A rare, barely perceptible expression of bewilderment crossed her face as she blinked once to confirm she wasn’t seeing things. Why is Little Junior Brother here?
“Do you recognize the person who came in with Mengmeng?” Granny noticed Yun Zhi’s unusual expression.
“It’s Lu Yang.”
“So he is Lu Yang?” Granny smiled. Speak of the devil. I was just talking about him, and here he is.
Although Yun Mengmeng had warned Lu Yang beforehand that the people in the secret domain would be very enthusiastic, Lu Yang hadn’t expected them to be this enthusiastic. He was deeply flustered. No one told me that this place would be full of women.
They’re tugging at me as if they’ve never seen a man before, treating me like a giant panda.
“Fellow Daoist, please don’t pull my clothes. Men and women should keep their distance. touch me.” Lu Yang’s cultivation was utterly useless here. He could only weakly defend himself with words. He was perplexed. Why is Big Senior Sister’s hometown full of women?
Unfortunately, the situation gave him no chance to ponder any further.
“Hey, hey, stop touching me.” Lu Yang looked at Yun Mengmeng for help, but she couldn’t do anything about her family either. She was a fellow victim, surrounded just like him.
“Mengmeng, who is he?”
“What’s your relationship with him?”
“Is this how I taught you to treat guests? Scatter!” Granny reprimanded, her stern tone sending the women scattering.
“You must be Little Yang,” Granny said, smiling warmly.
“Granny, you’re finally here!” Yun Mengmeng rushed to her side as though she had seen her savior. “Second-in-Command, let me introduce her to you. This is the chieftain of our Yun Clan.”
“My name is Yun Bai. They all call me Granny.”
“Hello, Granny.” Lu Yang followed suit. Noticing Yun Zhi standing silently to the side with an unfriendly expression, he began to regret letting the Everlasting Immortal Fairy talk him into coming here.
He quietly edged closer to Granny. This gave him a sense of safety.
“Child, why didn’t you greet anyone when you arrived?” Granny chided.
“Little Junior Brother, come inside.” It was the first time Lu Yang had seen Yun Zhi so obedient, utterly at odds with her usual demeanor. The thought made him shiver involuntarily.
Everyone sat down inside, and Granny personally poured tea for the guests. “Have a try. This is our Peach Blossom Secret Domain’s specialty—Peach Blossom Tea.”
The curled dried petals unfurled and bloomed in the cup, releasing a delicate peach blossom fragrance. It smelled better than any peach blossom Lu Yang had encountered, not because it was stronger, but because the scent was comforting.
The female cultivators peered inside from outside the door. Intimidated by Granny’s authority, they dared not enter and could only stand there.
“Stop pushing. You almost shoved me inside.”
“Who’s the guy Sister Mengmeng brought? He seems close with both her and Little Zhi.”
“Didn’t they already say who he is? He’s Lu Yang, Sister Little Zhi’s Little Junior Brother.”
“Keep your voices down. I can’t hear what they’re saying.”
Granny said, “Little Zhi talks about you all the time. Now that I’ve seen you today, you’re indeed a fine young man.”
For reasons unknown, Lu Yang felt especially reserved sitting here, as though he had become the center of attention. He gingerly held the teacup, pretending the tea was too hot. He blew on it twice, then took small sips, savoring the flavor. No one could have guessed he was an Advanced Transcendent Tribulation great cultivator.
I have to say, the peach blossom tea is genuinely nice.
At Granny’s words, Lu Yang’s hand trembled slightly. “Big Senior Sister often mentions me?”
“That’s right. She said you’re young and accomplished, down-to-earth and diligent, devoted to your cultivation, and often go into seclusion.”
Lu Yang felt inexplicably guilty. Is this talking about me? So this is how Big Senior Sister sees me. “Is... is that how I am?”
He sneaked a glance at Yun Zhi, only to see her stern gaze warning him not to say the wrong thing. Lu Yang straightened his back. “Ah yes, that’s how I am. Cultivation is wonderful; it increases your power. I love cultivating.”
“That’s right. The Second-in-Command works really hard at his cultivation. He’s already at the Advanced Transcendent Tribulation Stage and even has an Incipient Dao Fruit,” Yun Mengmeng chimed in.
Granny was shocked, but her expression quickly turned to one of admiration. “Advanced Transcendent Tribulation Stage. Not bad, truly not bad.”
“Actually, I’ve wanted to come here for a long time...” Lu Yang caught himself mid-sentence and cursed inwardly. I almost let my true thoughts slip.
He hastily corrected himself. “What I meant was, right after I finished seclusion, I asked Sister Mengmeng to bring me to visit you. I also often hear Big Senior Sister speak of you, Granny. She says she wouldn’t have achieved what she has today without your guidance since childhood.”
“Oh, not at all. It’s mainly because Little Zhi is talented in her own right.”
“You’re too modest. You didn’t just raise Big Senior Sister; you also raised Sister Mengmeng. If anyone says that was just a coincidence, I’ll be the first to object.” Lu Yang declared with righteous conviction.
The more Granny heard, the happier she became. Lu Yang is truly a fine boy. No wonder Little Zhi can’t stop praising him.
Yun Zhi stared at Yun Mengmeng with icy eyes. Anyone else would have been shivering under that gaze.
Yun Mengmeng didn’t shudder, but she didn’t dare look at Yun Zhi either. She had no choice but to tattle. “Granny, look at Little Zhi. She’s glaring at me.”
“Is that so?” Granny turned to look at Yun Zhi.
Yun Zhi’s expression remained unchanged, her tone flat. “I’m not. This is just how my eyes have always looked.”
