Who Let Him Cultivate?! (WX)

“Nothing but bravado!” The Fate Arbiter’s Dao heart was steadfast. Verbal provocation wouldn’t cause him to waver.

Countless snowy mountain titans rose from the earth, kneeling before him in submission. Then countless flexible stone pillars emerged from the ground, moving with the dexterity of octopus tentacles.

The Nine-Layers Immortal knocked down one snowy mountain titan with a single punch, but immediately, an immortal gold lifeform hidden within the titan’s head ambushed him.

The snowy mountain titans were merely decoys—the key to this ability was the immortal gold living lifeforms concealed within!

These chunks of immortal gold had not been refined and lacked the power of immortal artifacts, but immortal gold was renowned for its hardness. Even the Heaven Mandate Immortal had used it to forge his body. One could imagine just how terrifyingly tough it was.

The Nine-Layers Immortal’s fist smashed into the immortal gold lifeform’s face. It still only left a fist-shaped dent, inflicting no real damage.

He tried to leap into the air, but a tentacle-like branch shot out from the ground and coiled around his ankle. It was a gargantuan tree that had been frozen in the permafrost for eons, now transfigured by the Fate Arbiter.

Beneath the Extreme North lay innumerable buried corpses, all within the range of the Fate Arbiter’s transfiguration ability.

Although the Nine-Layers Immortal broke free from the tentacle-like branches right away, it gave the immortal gold lifeforms an opening.

Around five immortal gold lifeforms swarmed toward him, pinning down his limbs. One even sat on his chest and pounded his face, each punch powerful enough to pummel a Transcendent Tribulation cultivator to death.

The Nine-Layers Immortal immediately transformed into a flame state, visible but intangible, allowing him to phase through the immortal gold lifeforms.

“Refine!”

With a shout from the Nine-Layers Immortal, the immortal fire enveloped the immortal gold lifeforms. His immortal fire was most suitable for refining immortal gold. In the ancient era, the Heaven Mandate Immortal had always borrowed fire from him when he forged immortal artifacts.

In an instant, the immortal gold lifeforms were refined into a pool of liquid.

Swoosh.

A glob of liquid flew out from the flames, hurling itself at the Nine-Layers Immortal.

Even in liquid form, the immortal gold lifeforms were still living beings transfigured by the Fate Arbiter, obeying his command to attack the Nine-Layers Immortal by any means necessary.

The Nine-Layers Immortal retreated swiftly. If the immortal gold lifeforms surrounded him and solidified, they would form an airtight cage of immortal gold, which would be troublesome.

At the same time, he extinguished the immortal fire used to refine the immortal gold before the Fate Arbiter could transfigure them.

The Fate Arbiter clicked his tongue. As expected of a true ancient immortal, his reaction speed is really fast.

After transforming into liquid, the immortal gold lifeforms could assume all kinds of shapes, stretching infinitely into a thin film that adhered to the snowy mountain titans. The immortal gold solidified, becoming armor for the titans, granting them the power to fight the Nine-Layers Immortal.

One after another, the snowy mountain titans beat their chests like headless apes.

The Fate Arbiter then produced the remaining clumps of Mystic Ice. He had seized control of them during the battle earlier when the Nine-Layers Immortal conjured them.

The Mystic Ice was now alive as well. They reshaped themselves into ice spears according to the Fate Arbiter’s will, becoming the titans’ weapons.

Now armored and armed, the snowy mountain titans charged forward. The ice spears posed a genuine threat to the Nine-Layers Immortal’s flame form.

As a Mystic Ice spear pierced the Nine-Layers Immortal, his physical form momentarily returned. Numerous titans seized this opening, pinning him down and hammering him into the ground. A vortex appeared in the earth, sucking him in.

Afterward, the earth bulged and cracked. Fiery light emanated from the fissures, then soared skyward, blasting the titans like a volcanic explosion. It was a doomsday scene the Extreme North had never expected to witness.

Undeterred by the Nine-Layers Immortal’s flames of fury, the Fate Arbiter pressed on, ordering the titans to continue their assault.

The Nine-Layers Immortal hovered in the air, his wrath reaching the heavens.

Suddenly, the phantom image of a chessboard appeared on the ground. It was enormous beyond measure, with each snowy mountain titan standing in a single square.

What’s happening?! The Fate Arbiter grew alert. The ancient texts never mentioned the Nine-Layers Immortal possessing such a technique!

“All things in this world can be divided into black and white. The snowy mountains are yin-natured objects.” The Nine-Layers Immortal’s voice boomed, though it seemed as if he was speaking to himself.

Aside from the Everlasting Immortal Fairy and Yun Zhi, no one understood what he was talking about.

As the Nine-Layers Immortal finished his words, an unremarkable black chess piece materialized above each titan.

The Nine-Layers Immortal pressed his index and middle fingers together, holding a white chess piece.

The white chess piece descended, overlaying the black chess piece above a titan. Black and white collided, negating each other.

Both pieces vanished, and the snowy mountain titan disappeared with them.

“Where there is yin, there must be yang. Yin and yang engender each other, but also counter each other.”

The Fate Arbiter stumbled back, finally understanding what the Nine-Layers Immortal had done.

Yin and yang engender and counter each other. Since the snowy mountain titans are yin in nature, when they encounter an equivalent amount of yang-natured objects, the two will cancel each other out and disappear!

“Wait, but these snowy mountain titans are objects of the Five Elements! How can they be categorized by yin and yang?!” This was the one thing the Fate Arbiter still couldn’t figure out.

The Nine-Layers Immortal laughed heartily as he approached the Fate Arbiter step by step.

“A Dao Fruit represents a rule. Before the Yin-Yang Dao Fruit appeared, whether everything in the world should be classified by the Five Elements or by yin and yang was still inconclusive.

“But now that my Yin-Yang Dao Fruit exists, all things in the world are classified by yin and yang. The Five-Element classification is merely a more detailed subdivision based on yin and yang!”

In other words, this was a rule established by the Yin-Yang Dao Fruit.

The Nine-Layers Immortal had figured out that the Fate Arbiter’s Dao Fruit wasn’t about control. The latter couldn’t have simultaneously manipulated so many titans with such precision. It was a Dao Fruit that bestowed life and awakened sentience.

But before him, none of it mattered.

The Fate Arbiter’s face turned pale. With his ability to transfigure all things, including immortal fire and Mystic Ice, he had believed that he had the upper hand against the Nine-Layers Immortal.

But the truth was the exact opposite. By defining what constituted yin and yang, the Nine-Layers Immortal could make yin and yang obliterate each other. He’s the one who has the upper hand against me!

“I’d like to see just how many things you can obliterate!” The Fate Arbiter activated his Spirit Awakening Dao Fruit.

The earth shook, and the citizens of Muxue City stumbled about, thinking it was an earthquake.

The high-level cultivators turned ashen. This was no simple earthquake!

All of the Extreme North trembled. The first change appeared around the Fate Arbiter.

The ground beneath his feet heaved upward. Instead of turning into titans, it became a ball of earth covered with snow, and Muxue City sat upon this earthen sphere. The sphere was so massive that one couldn’t even sense its curvature when standing on its surface.

The people of Muxue City didn’t know what this earthen sphere signified; even the high-level cultivators had only a vague idea. But Lu Yang knew it best.

The present six continents had been refined from planets. The Fate Arbiter had granted life to the earth, restoring it to its primordial planetary form. He could use these planets to crash into the Nine-Layers Immortal at any moment.

“Planets? So what?!” The Nine-Layers Immortal sneered. In ancient battles, shattering stars was commonplace. What threat could a few planets pose? I can even use yin-yang negation to make these planets disappear.

“No, there are still people on these planets!” the Nine-Layers Immortal’s true personality cried out. The Fate Arbiter was holding all living beings on the Extreme North hostage.

“So what?!” His other personality remained unmoved.

This was exactly what the Nine-Layers Immortal’s true personality had always feared.

“Let me control the body!” The Nine-Layers Immortal’s true personality seized control.

The Fate Arbiter snickered, waiting to see what other tricks the Nine-Layers Immortal had in store.

The Nine-Layers Immortal took two deep breaths. It had been a long time since he had used this move.

“Supreme Yin Extreme Cold!”

The Nine-Layers Immortal expanded his Supreme Yin field. The already frigid Extreme North grew colder and colder, dropping to an unprecedented temperature.

Absolute zero!

The world seemed to freeze in that instant. All living beings in the Extreme North were frozen still, and the land ceased its transformation into a planet. The entire Extreme North was engulfed in absolute zero, rendering all motion impossible. It was as though time had come to a standstill.

“See that? What did this immortal tell you? Controlling immortal fire and the like is merely a surface-level ability of the Yin-Yang Dao Fruit. These are its true abilities.”
