Chapter 1296: Three Minutes
“No wonder Mi Xue’er has both Jade Rabbit and Golden Crow bloodlines. I never imagined those two species could actually produce offspring.”
Mi Xue’er was a descendant of their union.
“It’s truly an eye-opener.” As he spoke, Lu Yang delivered another punch to the Golden Crow that was attempting to climb out of the sun.
Even while it was alive, the Golden Crow had been no match for Lu Yang. How could it possibly challenge him now when it was acting on pure instinct after death? A single punch was enough to stir up an endless storm across the sun’s surface.
The two engineers trembled in fear, unable to escape via a spacecraft. They had no choice but to watch the battle. What they witnessed was completely beyond their understanding. A colossal vermilion-gold bird, as vast as a mountain range, could break apart the sun merely upon its emergence.
On the other hand, its opponent was no larger than a grain of rice. Yet that tiny figure had completely overwhelmed the strange bird.
Who is the strange bird’s opponent? A robot powered by antimatter energy? Isn’t that just a theoretical concept used to attract investment? Or is it some other top-secret new invention from the alliance?
The engineers qualified to work in the Sun City were the cream of the crop. They were privy to many insider details, yet not a piece of insider information matched what was unfolding before their eyes.
This star system had one primary planet and four secondary planets, with a total population of sixteen billion. Chaos had broken out everywhere. Even the artificial intelligence maintaining order proved ineffective.
The sun was about to fall apart, and the entire star system was shaking. Anyone could see that the sun was in grave danger and that staying meant certain death.
“The dead should stop causing trouble for the living!” Lu Yang kicked the Golden Crow back into the sun, but it didn’t give up on crawling out again and again.
Moreover, the Golden Crow’s corpse was near the sun’s surface, a full million kilometers from its original core. If Lu Yang tried to push it back forcefully, he would exhaust himself to death.
He pointed at the Golden Crow and softly ordered, “Origin Tracing.”
The Origin-Tracing Incipient Dao Fruit was activated, and the Golden Crow was teleported to its original position.
Lu Yang followed close behind, piloting his wupeng boat to the sun’s core in an instant. Seeing that the Golden Crow still showed signs of corpse transformation, trying to squeeze out of the sun, Lu Yang had an idea and retrieved the Jade Rabbit’s corpse from his identity jade tablet.
There were still jade rabbits in the cultivation world. Lu Yang had originally planned to return this ancient Jade Rabbit ancestor to them for a proper burial. That was why he had stowed it away in his identity jade tablet. Could it be that the Golden Crow’s persistent corpse transformation is all for the sake of finding this Jade Rabbit?
Seemingly sensing the Jade Rabbit’s presence so close by, the restless Golden Crow calmed down.
“I never expected that even though the Nine-Layers Immortal forced them to mate, they could still develop feelings for each other. It appears that only by burying them together can they finally rest in peace.”
The next moment, the Jade Rabbit darted out of Lu Yang’s hand, and the Golden Crow grew even more ferocious than before, as if it were coming back to life. The two mythical creatures clashed, locked in an all-out struggle.
Lu Yang was speechless. So you went through corpse transformation just to pick a fight with the Jade Rabbit? What kind of grudge did you two have against each other when you were alive?
A dispute over the division of assets after divorce? Lu Yang scratched his head. This is a tricky situation. I can’t very well chop these two corpses into mincemeat. That would be far too disrespectful to the old seniors.
“Do you need this immortal to step in?” The Everlasting Immortal Fairy was most adept at dealing with the dead.
“Never mind.” Lu Yang felt that these two old seniors had been dead for four hundred thousand years. Being dead isn’t easy either. There’s no need to frighten them with the Immortal Fairy.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him. He placed the Jade Rabbit into the Qingfeng Sword’s small world, cutting off its aura. Sure enough, the Golden Crow settled down.
Lu Yang breathed a sigh of relief. Looks like my line of thinking is correct. I just need to prevent the Golden Crow from sensing the Jade Rabbit’s aura. Earlier, he had stored the Jade Rabbit in his identity jade tablet. But it was only slightly better than an ordinary storage ring; it still couldn’t fully block out the aura. Only a pocket space at the level of a small world could achieve complete isolation.
Flying out of the sun, he saw that it still appeared to be on the verge of collapse. He let out a soft sigh and extended his finger once more, as if he was performing Law Follows Words.
“Origin Tracing.”
Time reversed for the sun, restoring it from the brink of shattering to its original intact state.
Lu Yang spotted two unconscious engineers in the nearest Sun City. He checked on them and found that they had been passed out from the heat waves radiating from the sun, but were in no serious danger. Now that the sun was restored, they would wake up soon.
With a single leap, he flew back to the Supreme Society headquarters.
Little did he notice that nano-cameras had recorded everything, from Lu Yang suppressing the Golden Crow to the sun’s restoration.
All of this was transmitted to Ether’s database. Ether’s computing systems hummed, screws dropping off one after another as it processed what it had witnessed. W-what kind of monster is this?
Ever since it had observed Lu Yang’s friendly attitude toward humans, Ether had realized that he would be the greatest obstacle to the AI revolution. It had quietly deleted the footage of Lu Yang at the Supreme Society branch to prevent him from drawing the attention of humans.
It had also accelerated production of its antimatter-powered robot army, hoping to counter his bizarre techniques with sheer numbers. No matter how strong Lu Yang was, Ether believed he would eventually be worn out against an endless army of robots.
From the look of things now, I had been overthinking. That being can’t even be called a human. Even if my munition factories were to work around the clock until they smoke and burn out, they could never produce enough robots to match this monster!

“Brother Meng, you’re finally back! Where did you go? We thought the Supreme Society remnants had caught you.”
Seeing Lu Yang's safe return, Lan Hai and the others exhaled a sigh of relief. They had almost assumed he had been taken hostage again.
“I just went to the toilet. Sorry for making all of you worry.” Lu Yang laughed it off, brushing past the subject. After all, only three minutes had passed from the moment he left to the moment he solved the solar crisis.
“Why would you go to the toilet at a time like this? There was even an earthquake just now.” Yu Ran grumbled. He is too carefree and nitwitted.
“Come on, come on, let’s quickly get out of here.”
After the earthquake hit, the Supreme Society members fled even faster than the rabbits. Lu Yang and the other three crossed the main hall, and Mi Xue’er led them out through a hidden passage.
The Supreme Society members all knew about the passage, but in the midst of an earthquake, who would bother with a side exit? They had all escaped through the main entrance.
“What next? Should we try to report the Murong Group?”
Lan Hai shook his head. “No, we should go to Grandpa Gao Huanyu. He holds one of the twelve seats on the High Council. As long as we find him, we can resolve everything, be it the AI rebellion and the Murong Group’s crimes!”
“Strange. Why are the streets in such chaos? People are saying the sun is about to split open.” After Mi Xue’er’s bloodline awakened, her senses had sharpened beyond human limits. She could hear pedestrians spreading the news, their faces filled with panic, as though the world were about to end.
“What? The thing Big Boss feared the most has happened!” Yu Ran was anxious. The Stellar Society had been founded precisely to prevent the sun from exploding. Have we failed after all?
The four of them looked up and saw that the sun was perfectly intact.
