Who Let Him Cultivate?! (WX)

Chapter 1300: Our Cultivation World Has Only Recently Managed to Venture Into the Cosmos

Eleven holographic projections materialized one by one in the High Council Hall, seated around the round table as they awaited the convenor of this meeting.

One member tapped the table impatiently. “Old Gao called this emergency meeting, so why is he late? Isn’t he always the first to arrive?” He was Wang Jinglong, the head of the Wang Conglomerate. The Murong Group was merely one of its many subsidiaries.

“Did he tell any of you the purpose of this meeting? Is it because he figured out why the Sagittarius Galaxy’s sun nearly exploded?”

The residents of the Sagittarius Galaxy had been temporarily relocated to the Eternal Galaxy, and the conglomerates under his control had all complained to him about the staggering losses, asking when the Interstellar Alliance would move the people back.

“Chairman, do you know anything?”

The chairman was a middle-aged man in military attire. He commanded all of the Interstellar Alliance’s armed forces and enjoyed immense prestige within the alliance. “He mentioned something about aiding a backward civilization, but he didn’t go into the details.”

“Aiding a backward civilization? Isn’t the matter of Heavensea Planet already concluded?” Wang Jinglong was left befuddled by the chairman’s words.

“Apologies, everyone. Calibrating the projection equipment took longer than expected.” Dean Gao finally arrived, and the projection device lit up.

However, this time, he wasn’t alone. An extraterrestrial visitor accompanied him.

Wang Jinglong grew displeased at the sight of the outsider. “Old Gao, what’s the meaning of this? This is the High Council. Why have you brought an outsider?”

“This is the person you’ve been wanting to see.”

Only then did the members recognize the thirteenth figure, and their pupils constricted sharply. It’s that alien called Lu Yang!

Even the chairman was flabbergasted. Since the High Council’s founding, no outsider had ever participated in a meeting. Even alternate members weren’t granted such a privilege.

“Hello, everyone, I’m Lu Yang. I heard you all wanted to see me, so here I am.” As though he hadn’t seen the group’s reactions, Lu Yang smiled and greeted the eleven leaders courteously.

“So you are that alien?” Upon learning of his identity, the group’s interest was immediately piqued. The Interstellar Alliance could be called the hegemon of the cosmos, and these eleven supreme leaders governed it. They possessed knowledge of countless secrets and had discerned many truths. Few things in the world could still draw their attention.

Lu Yang was that exception.

It makes sense that Dean Gao brought Lu Yang here. He must have located Lu Yang through Ether’s calculations.

“If possible, I’d prefer you call me a cultivator rather than an alien.”

“Cultivator?” The group mulled over the term. Some even searched their AI brains, but found no record of it.

“Explaining cultivators in detail would be quite complicated. You can simply think of it as us using a special kind of power to make ourselves stronger. We call this special power ‘spirit qi,’ and spirit stones contain large amounts of it.”

As he spoke, Lu Yang produced a spirit stone in his palm. The scanning system analyzed its structure and projected the results before the High Council.

“So this is a spirit stone?”

None of them had ever seen a structure like this. Having traversed the cosmos and explored boundless territories, they believed they had encountered all manner of substances. Never had they imagined that there were still natural materials yet to be discovered.

“Spirit stones are abundant in my world. We use them for cultivation. As for the name of the civilization behind me, hmm...” Lu Yang paused. “Let’s temporarily call it the Cultivation World. If an official name is established later, we can change it.”

“Temporarily?” The chairman caught the implication behind Lu Yang’s choice of words. “Mr. Lu, has your Cultivation World never had contact with other civilizations?” Only a civilization that had never encountered others would find itself without a formal name.

Lu Yang felt a bit embarrassed by the question, but he still chose to be honest. “Truth be told, our Cultivation World has only recently managed to venture into the cosmos. Before that, we didn’t even know what the universe looked like.”

The High Council members were all taken aback. They’ve only just entered the cosmos recently? This Cultivation World sounds too backward.

“Mr. Lu, that wupeng boat of yours is truly impressive. It seems capable of traversing wormholes and performing spatial jumps.” Wang Jinglong eyed Lu Yang skeptically. How could a civilization with such means have only just entered the cosmos?

“Oh, that boat? That was only developed recently. Before that, our Cultivation World didn’t have anything like it.” Lu Yang was aboveboard, answering without reservation. His attitude made Wang Jinglong feel as though he was being overly suspicious, which could tarnish the Interstellar Alliance’s image.

Wang Jinglong couldn’t suppress his curiosity and voiced one final question. “I saw that you possess extraordinary abilities, Mr. Lu. You could deal with the ferocious beasts on Heavensea Planet and stop bullets in midair. How did you do all that?”

“I could go on for three days and three nights and still not finish explaining it.” This was the truth. To explain those abilities, he would need to walk the High Council members through the entire cultivation system. Since they had no prior exposure to cultivation, it would be even harder to explicate it.

“You can think of it as abilities that cultivators gain after comprehending heaven and earth.”

Comprehending heaven and earth? Wang Jinglong was perplexed. How long has it been since I’d heard such terms? They sound like something only those ignorant, backward civilizations would say. Those are the people who believe in heaven and earth and depend on the weather for their livelihood, still stuck in the agrarian age.

“I know what you’re thinking, Mr. Wang. Our cultivation world is indeed rather backward. That is why I would like to ask the alliance to dispatch some personnel, just like with Heavensea Planet, to provide aid and technical support. It doesn’t need to be too elaborate. Sending a few people over will do.”

The members exchanged glances. They hadn’t expected this request from Lu Yang. However, his request was reasonable, and he didn’t demand much. They just had to send a few people, and the Interstellar Alliance had no shortage of people.

“Mr. Lu, could you tell us the location of the Cultivation World?”

Lu Yang nodded. This is simple. “Dean Gao, could you pull up a star chart?”

“Ether, display the star chart.”

The most comprehensive star chart the Interstellar Alliance possessed appeared before them, with the alliance right at its center. This diagram was slightly larger than the one Lu Yang had seen in the library, but it still didn’t cover the Cultivation World’s location. He had to mark the Cultivation World outside the diagram’s boundaries. “Roughly here.”

“Mr. Lu, this is something we’ll need to discuss,” the chairman said. He had already made up his mind, but no matter what, he couldn’t make the decision in front of Lu Yang.

“Sure.” Lu Yang excused himself from the High Council.

After Lu Yang left, the chairman closed his eyes in contemplation for a moment and asked, “What do all of you think?”

“I don’t see any problem. He didn’t seem to be lying,” one of the members said.

“I have no objections,” Wang Jinglong said.

“Old Gao, what’s your take?”

“How about we ask Ether?” Dean Gao suggested.

“Good idea. This is indeed something we should consult Ether about.”

“Ether, what do you think of Mr. Lu’s proposal for the alliance to send aid to the Cultivation World?”

Ether’s response came swiftly. “Send me over.”
