Firstly, each of the Dark Markers actually had tragic stories; they were poor souls who, after death, were exploited by the Evil God to resurrect and gained the power of the Earth-Bound God to battle with the Dragon Sealers after their revival.

Interestingly, after the Dark Marker’s arc ended in the animation, all the Earth-Bound Gods were defeated, and the souls devoured by the Earth-Bound Gods could return safely without any side effects, not even retaining memories of being devoured.

Those Dark Markers, who should have died, astonishingly continued living after their Earth-Bound Gods were defeated. Not only that, but if they suffered from any ailments or terminal illnesses before death, the Earth-Bound God also cured them completely, with no side effects at all.
