Chapter 1011 - 779: How Could I Be Wrong? It’s All the Environment’s Fault! (Part 2)
As Nan Zhubin finished his presentation, he walked down without looking back.
Some people whispered about the legal knowledge Nan Zhubin had just presented and the fact-recording template, their fingers repeatedly sliding over their phones to save the content.
The faces of the management team in the front row varied; some frowned in thought, others whispered to each other softly.
Boss Wang took a deep breath, whether from the perspective of the conference process or from other deeper angles, he had to quickly push the scene in the direction of his desires.
So, Boss Wang swiftly put on an appropriate smile and adjusted his suit.
He softly greeted the man in the suit beside him, then strode onto the stage and picked up the microphone: "—A big thank you to Teacher Nan for the wonderful presentation just now!"
The sudden sound abruptly drew everyone’s attention back in the conference room.
"Seeing everyone cooperating so actively, I’m delighted as well."
Boss Wang’s face was beaming with smiles: "Teacher Nan just used psychological perspectives to help us relieve emotions and alleviate stress, while thoughtfully educating us on labor rights. This fully demonstrates the company’s attention to you and also reflects the value of our company’s EAP program that we are strongly supporting!"
Sound continuously emanated from the loudspeaker.
Initially, the effect of Nan Zhubin’s guidance on the conference lingered, and the employees’ faces still showed concentration.
But soon, their expressions gradually faded, returning to the state they were in when the conference had just begun.
"..." Boss Wang’s voice continued to pour into everyone’s ears.
Then he shifted gears, his tone becoming more vigorous: "Of course, besides the company’s care, we also have many outstanding employees. Even under high-pressure environments, they persist at their posts, strive forward, using their efforts to contribute to the company’s growth..."
Quite a few employees realized certain things hadn’t changed upon hearing this, and lowered their heads anew.
Boss Wang loudly stated: "Next, we’ll have the representatives of our ’Outstanding Employees’ come on stage to share their work insights and also talk about their feelings on today’s guidance conference."
"Please welcome our first representative—Chen Lizhou!"
Though announced as "employee representatives," the ones stepping on stage were in fact the company’s department directors.
Sparse applause echoed in the venue.
Most of the employees in the back rows bore expressionless faces, some even stealthily rolled their eyes, clearly uninterested in such "outstanding employee" performative speeches.
...
Chen Lizhou stood up from his seat in the front row area, face still somewhat stiff.
He was originally not the first to go on stage, wanting to choose a position towards the middle or back to first nurture his emotions.
However, following Nan Zhubin’s advice, he communicated with the conference leader, switched his sequence, and chose to be the first to go on stage.
Boss Wang’s expression paused momentarily, then quickly returned to an Affinity smile. As he handed the microphone to Chen Lizhou, he also gave a gentle pat on Chen Lizhou’s shoulder before slowly stepping down from the stage.
But Chen Lizhou’s eyes were searching among the crowd. A man in his thirties, yet at this moment, exhibiting the panic of youth.
Until he met those calm and deep eyes.
Feeling as if certain wandering things returned to his body, Chen Lizhou sensed his body quiet down suddenly.
Looking at those familiar or unfamiliar faces in the audience.
Chen Lizhou slowly began to speak: "Dear leaders, dear colleagues, hello everyone."
"Standing on this ’psychological interference conference’ platform today, I feel very honored. Firstly, thanks to the company for valuing our employees’ psychological health..."
...
"Teacher Nan." After stepping off the stage, Boss Wang gently nodded towards the direction of the first-row conference desk, as a form of greeting.
Then, he walked straight towards Nan Zhubin: "Shall we talk?"
[Eyelids instantly relaxed from a taut state, and the corners of the eyes drooped.]
[Brows rapidly moved down and gathered, forming vertical creases between the brows.]
[Nostrils expanded.]
Nan Zhubin looked at Boss Wang in front of him.
In a momentary trance, it seemed he could see a black shadow rising behind the person before him, slowly overlapping with Boss Wang.
The person who had always worn a mask seemed finally ready to rip off the facade.
So, Nan Zhubin nodded: "Of course."
"Follow me." Boss Wang walked forward without looking back, seemingly certain the person behind would follow closely with every step.
He led Nan Zhubin out of the conference room, turning into a small room next door, opened the door, and entered.
Behind Nan Zhubin, Chonghui and Mo Kai also stepped into the room together. Boss Wang noticed this, pressed his lips before quickly curling them up again.
"Teacher Nan—you truly gave me a surprise."
While speaking, Boss Wang walked over to the center desk in the room, pulled open a drawer, and took out a thick stack of materials. Nan Zhubin, standing afar, couldn’t make out what these materials were.
"You only mentioned the psychological guidance process to me, didn’t provide me with detailed speech content, turns out you still hid so many... things!"
The Boss Wang in front of him reverted to the stance from when he first met Nan Zhubin and the others.
Chonghui silently stepped forward a bit, his large frame moving to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Nan Zhubin, as if providing his junior a wall.
Boss Wang paused momentarily, then straightened his chest: "Spreading legal knowledge? And you gave them whatever record template? Are these still psychological guidance?"
He, like scolding a subordinate for incompetence, rightly stated: "Don’t forget, I paid you to come execute the project, now you’re teaching the employees how to counter the company? Where’s your professional ethics?!"
