Chapter 48: Sheng Yue, It Was All For You
"Feed it to her." Pei Yin held an instrument and scanned her.
He handed over a bottle of medicine.
Ling Yanzhi glanced at the medicine bottle, silently poured out a pill, and had Jian Yu take it.
"It’s not too bad. She must have taken some high-efficacy medicine already." Pei Yin squatted down, unwrapped the gauze, wiped away the blood, and took out a bottle of blue-green medicine from his Space Button.
He disinfected and sterilized it, then dabbed on some of the liquid medicine, applying it carefully.
Duan Feiye also found a place to sit. "Little Pei, what kind of medicine is that? Are you sure an ordinary person can handle it?"
No one paid him any attention.
Sheng Yue stared at Jian Yu’s trembling legs.
His fingers twitched. He couldn’t help but say, "Let me see her leg."
Pei Yin whipped his head around. "You pervert!"
"..." Duan Feiye’s mouth fell slightly agape. He had never seen a scene like this before.
Ling Yanzhi, who had been preoccupied, finally noticed that Jian Yu’s legs were trembling.
He rubbed his hands together to warm them, sat down beside her, placed her legs on his own, and began to carefully massage them.
"The bleeding’s stopped." Pei Yin looked up, just in time to see Jian Yu’s eyelashes flutter.
He shot to his feet.
He walked over to Duan Feiye, leaned against the wall, and adopted the look of someone ready to enjoy the drama.
Duan Feiye saw this and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. "That medicine of yours."
"Just something I whipped up." Pei Yin looked down indifferently, the corners of his eyes slightly lowered. The red mole on the bridge of his nose was a striking, vibrant red.
He didn’t admit that he had developed it specifically for Jian Yu’s condition.
’If I let Duan Feiye know that I foolishly drew my own blood for this, what if he misunderstands and thinks I care a lot about Jian Yu?’
’If I had known, I would have kept my mouth shut. I should have just let Duan Feiye die out there for all I care.’
"Baby?" Xi Yu lowered his head, rubbing his cheek against Jian Yu’s with lingering fear. "Baby, are you awake?"
Jian Yu’s fever broke quickly. When she opened her eyes, she found herself leaning in Xi Yu’s arms.
Her feet were still resting on Ling Yanzhi’s stomach. Mortified, she tried to pull them back.
Ling Yanzhi grabbed her ankle. His expression was unreadable, but his voice was very gentle. "They’re a little cold. Let me warm them up some more for you, baby."
Seeing Sheng Yue in her peripheral vision, Jian Yu subconsciously turned her head.
Their eyes met for a moment before Sheng Yue looked away.
Pei Yin let out a snide huff.
Following the sound, Jian Yu’s head snapped to the other side.
Behind one face was an even more handsome one.
Jian Yu’s gaze went past the murderous-looking Pei Yin to the man beside him.
He had a steady temperament, a stern face, and exuded a cold, imposing pressure.
From any angle, he was a total hunk.
’No wonder they say the fourth member of the F4 got his spot purely on his rugged good looks.’
"Hello, Jian."
But the moment he spoke, he sounded very easygoing.
Jian Yu peeked out, her eyes shifting slightly. "Hello."
"Baby, look at me." Xi Yu pinched her chin, forcefully pulling her into his embrace.
Jian Yu turned back, her listless, sick eyes lifting slightly. She froze for a moment.
The man’s light brown pupils reflected her pale face.
There was blood on the corner of his mouth, dyeing his lips red. Against his somber face, it added a certain allure.
Jian Yu’s heart skipped a beat.
Unable to move her body, she simply lay obediently on her side in Xi Yu’s arms.
"Baby, you lost so much blood." Xi Yu held her hand. "They’re so useless. None of them even noticed you were in trouble."
Pei Yin retorted coldly, "And you just found out yourself, didn’t you?"
Jian Yu lowered her eyes. "They were in class, too. I just never expected the ringleader would be Teacher Xu."
The signal was jammed, so my message didn’t go through.
She looked at her arm and peeked out. "Can I ask for compensation?"
Pei Yin was exasperated with her. "However they hurt you, you should pay them back tenfold! Why are you asking for compensation? The richest men in the world are warming your feet, and you’re worried about pocket change?"
His movements were a bit too big, causing the hem of his shirt to lift up and reveal a small patch of pale white skin at his waist.
Paired with the silver and gold chains on his waistband, it was a bit risqué.
Jian Yu glanced once, couldn’t help herself, and glanced again.
’Wait, what did he just say?’
’No compensation?’
Jian Yu reasoned in a small voice, "He hurt me, and I can’t even ask for compensation? If everyone finds out they don’t have to compensate me for bullying me, won’t I get bullied to death in the future?"
"..." The usually eloquent Pei Yin was rendered speechless by her.
Xi Yu said nothing, simply lowering his head to transfer money to Jian Yu.
Ling Yanzhi followed suit in a second.
Jian Yu received two huge transfers and looked like she wanted to say something but held back.
She looked at Xi Yu, then at Ling Yanzhi, her expression sullen. "It’s not the same."
Duan Feiye observed the development of the situation from afar.
He hadn’t been part of the process, but he could deduce some things.
’Ling Yanzhi and Xi Yu are more direct. If they like someone, they go for it.’
’Thanks to this, Jian Yu has basically accepted and gotten used to all of their ambiguous, intimate actions.’
’Pei Yin has a seductive face, but his foul mouth has kept him from ever squeezing in.’
’I just don’t know if it was Pei Yin who dragged Sheng Yue down, or Sheng Yue who dragged Pei Yin down.’
’Or perhaps Ling Yanzhi and Xi Yu schemed together to exclude them from the very beginning?’
Duan Feiye wasn’t actually trying to size up Jian Yu, but since she was facing sideways in his direction, he found himself glancing over a few more times without realizing it.
He retracted his gaze. "Do you need my help?"
"No need." Ling Yanzhi’s expression was grim. "Lin Yu is already on his way."
Upon receiving Shen Gu’s message, Lin Yu had contacted him immediately.
Although they hadn’t had time to pull up the hidden surveillance footage, Red Snake had locked onto two targets.
Sheng Yue had seen the surveillance footage; he knew who was pulling the strings.
Of Weis Lan’s hundreds of thousands of cameras, only a tenth were visible to the students.
Some things weren’t impossible to investigate, it was just a matter of whether anyone wanted to.
Sheng Yue stayed for a while longer, then decided to leave. "I will convene the board of directors and have Xu Shaoqing expelled."
"Chief, I’ve brought them."
Xu Shaoqing was pushed in by Lin Yu.
Seeing Sheng Yue about to leave, she hurriedly explained, "Sheng Yue, this really has nothing to do with me! It was him! Xuzhou did it himself!"
Xuzhou was still trying to figure out where the poison on his arms had come from when he was captured and brought here.
He clutched his hands, fell to the floor, and rolled around with a pained expression.
’They said that as long as I, the teacher, came forward, they would believe me. What happened to that?’
Xu Shaoqing’s betrayal was not part of his plan.
Xuzhou angrily retorted, "For no reason? We have no grudge. Why would I go after a specially-admitted student?"
Ting Ying didn’t give him a chance to speak, lunging forward and viciously clawing at his arm, leaving deep marks.
After Ting Ying had vented for a good while, Pei Yin finally spoke slowly, "Come back. What business is this of yours?"
Ting Ying was bewildered: [Didn’t you tell me to attack?]
Looking at the bloody holes on Xuzhou’s body, Xu Shaoqing didn’t dare to make a sound.
Even though her soul beast level was A, she wouldn’t be able to self-heal in this situation.
Red Snake twisted its body, splitting into several hundred red snakes that swarmed densely into Room 177.
After understanding the situation, Ling Yanzhi signaled to Lin Yu. "Throw him in."
Lin Yu added, "And water. Cold water."
Jian Yu nodded. "Mm."
Xi Yu flicked a tentacle, sending Xuzhou flying straight into the wall.
Red Snake slithered forward.
A bloodcurdling scream rang out.
The color drained from Xu Shaoqing’s face.
Xi Yu covered Jian Yu’s eyes and ears.
He looked at Xu Shaoqing with disgust. "There’s one more."
Lin Yu stepped forward.
Although both were A-level, Lin Yu’s Soul Beast was more combat-oriented.
The struggle lasted less than a minute before Xu Shaoqing was at a disadvantage.
A white shadow flashed before her eyes. She cried out for help, "Sheng Yue, you can’t leave! I did all of this for you! Are you going to ignore what Uncle Sheng said, too?"
