Why don't you build a village on top of the world tree

Episode IX: Strengthening the defence system

After sending Mayor Kubesta to the public hall, I immediately hung up on the remaining Devil Bug Hunters in the city.

The place is in front of the office, and there are seven demon bug hunters gathered.

"I knew it wasn't much."

If it's normal, seven is enough. It's winter now, and there aren't many demon bugs.

Several Devil Bug Hunters, including Billows, are out delivering relief supplies to the town of Cateo. For this reason, some of the remaining warthog hunters in the city of Takakus include old hunters, who are also residents of the former village of Kidato.

"Mayor, what kind of gathering is this?

An elderly hunter from the former village of Kidato arms himself with a used bow in one hand.

"Did you even need additional support for the town of Kateo?

"There's a Cyrillic out in the village of Kubesta"

"... ho"

The old hunter, with his eyes narrowed, dwells a fierce light in his eyes.

"I heard you've been evacuated all over the village, but you're gonna take care of it."

"Yeah, it matters. We need to escort four branches in the lower cloud and one branch in the lower cloud in the city of Takakus, with seven people here. Eight, including me."

Cyrillic is a highly maneuverable demon worm that jumps from branch to branch with excellent jumping power. It is also difficult to defend one village with the power of eight people.

The assembled Devil Bug Hunters also make a dark face by accurately recognizing the situation.

"Any requests for reinforcements to the city of Katella?

"I've already put it out. The city of Kattella also needs to consolidate its defenses, so it will be possible to send five or six people to the city of Tacax at best"

"Where are the Mr. Billows headed to Cateo Town?

He should be back soon.

Billows and the others were supposed to assume perimeter vigilance and town security roles for some time after the delivery of supplies to Cateo Town.

Because the town of Kateo was expected to have too many people and not enough controllers during these disasters.

But now that sixteen days have already passed since the snow wobble, the confusion has also subsided.

"So, if you stick around until Mr. Billows gets back, you win, right?

"That's what happens. We are now soliciting the will to step up our vigilance. As soon as all Demon Bug Hunters discover Cyrillic for a given position, do not allow them to approach the city with intimidating fire. Soon the others will be on their way to backup. I will use this medal as a liaison to contact each person."

I'll show you Melmie's wooden medal as I explain. I made it out of edge material. It's my ID in time.

Clarity on how to communicate prevents chaos in the chain of command. If residents panic when Kyrilgiri arrives, he quickly created this medal, thinking it would be dangerous not to be able to identify the liaison personnel and the residents who panicked.

"As you can see, it's carved with crack trees and names"

A fictional tree, cract, meaning unchanged objects. This time, for now, it means, as usual, with a normal mind.

"Look at the map in front of you. Everyone's location is indicated here. Gentlemen, I'm sorry, but I want you to be prepared for a full day of vigilance without a break. I'll take the plug."

It takes roughly a day for the Warbug Hunter to arrive from the other side, following a reinforcement request that sent him to the city of Kattera.

All right, then, everybody stay where you belong.

Copy that, sir.

Each one raises his or her hips and runs to his or her position.

I looked up into the sky and went into the office to make sure it wasn't going to snow for a while.

Straight to the dining kitchen and open the door.

"Good day."

Melmie calls out as she trims the corn flour with water.

"Oh, I'm home. Ready to plug in?

"That's right. I've got him a little spicy."

Jokingly, Melmie lifts a bowl with tomato flour and water. Perhaps they put it down for about half a day and use more painful tom.

Precise as a plug in today with low temperatures in midwinter.

"I'll help you, too."

"Well, have a vegetable, please"

"Yes, sir."

Inside cutting vegetables, Richay opened the door and came in.

"We're done forming a willing liaison team. First of all, we have a minimal defensive posture."

"As much as I can do now, and as a defense of the city, it's the least I can do."

"I can't help it if I don't have anything to do."

Richay, sitting in the chair, takes out the paper.

"The population of the village of Couvesta is two hundred and twenty. It contains ten infants. Hundreds of craftsmen who make furniture, hundreds who farm, and the remaining ten are clerks who calculate the income of the entire village."

"What is the age composition and gender ratio?

"The average age is two hundred and seventy. You're pretty young from four hundred up there and one digit down there. The sex ratio is seven to three, and all women are married. We're having a wedding in Takakus."

While I put Richay's report in my ear, I fry the chopped vegetables.

I opened my mouth as Mermie began to cook the dough by extending the condensed corn flour thinly over the frying pan.

"It's good for Takakus that more people are working.... your arm as the craftsman at heart, is that you?

"You don't have to mislead the words. Let's get this straight. Only four or fewer Kubesta village chiefs will be used. You don't have enough experience to teach these four people."

Bassari and Cutting Richay are right.

This is what I used to think of when I went to see the village of Couvesta in person and the results of a survey that I had received from the city of Cuttera around the fall.

Though the information should be finalized after actually having them work in the workshop, it is necessary to consider the division of the inhabitants of the village of Kubesta within the present.

"Can we have their fields ready by spring?

"There's dirt. It needs to be accommodated in the town of Cateo, so only for those who were farming. I think the area will be critical to eating."

"Then shall we build a field? I wonder if the place will be a second branch."

"No, let's be the first branch"

"This branch?

Melmie points to her feet.

I also know what Richay is trying to say.

The field of the second branch is already quite an area. The distance from the residential area is also far away, and the need to walk nearly thirty minutes from home to one's field is also emerging.

The thirty minute journey to the field may be painful for them, who are likely to be apathized by the destruction of the village of Couvesta by Cyrillic.

It wouldn't be a good mental hygiene to walk for thirty minutes thinking that you could be unreasonably broken even if you tried anyway.

"Still, let's build a field on the second branch"

"May I ask why?

"It's easy. Everyone around us is working. Even if I remain impatient, I have to work under tonal pressure."

Richay looked complicated, but Melmie laughed as she clapped her shoulders.

"It's a rough cure, but it's basically a problem with only time effective drugs, and I think it's much better than being pulled into a cage"

"Speaking of which, where's Teten?

"... dissatisfied with the way I remember, yes"

Teten emerges through the door with a soothing atmosphere.

He just came home smoking a cushion of rum birds.

"I'm sorry I remembered the word pull. It was rude indeed."

"If you know what I mean..."

Teten nodded softly and sat in the chair beside Richay. This chair is in my fixed position.

You're being tight.

Don't worry about Teten sitting next to you, Richay returns to the conversation.

"The location of the field is determined by the second branch. After that, the craftsman?

"The kids are talking about infants, and you don't have to worry about school yet. If you're an artisan, maybe you need to get them trained."

"Do you have a place to accept it?

Nature and Mermie gather their gaze.

Melmie, who was wrapping the vegetables I had chopped or sautéed in the baked tomato dough, received her gaze and shook her neck to the side.

"The craftsmen of the village of Kubesta fled the former workshop without the guts, so I don't think I can do it."

"Escaped?

Melmie waves her fingers to the left and right as Lishay snaps her neck.

"You know, the workshop manager, the construction manager. It's something I won't let out unless I have a craftsman in front of me. In this case, one person means enough to get a job. Mr. Melmie feels that he has followed Amane with a critical pass. There was a chase."

You mean the watermark carving in the public hall?

Melmie continues the conversation, laughing like a light.

"Craftsmen in the village of Kubesta were making naive furniture even when Amane saw it, right? That means I flew out of my factory and moved to the village of Kubesta. You're young, aren't you? Naturally, my parents at my place of study would have stopped me when I was consulted, and if I hadn't, even less so."

That's how Melmie takes a serious look.

"Parents are a lot of stubborn people, so I don't want to take care of a bad kid who jumps out of nowhere. Halfway through the workshop, the kid jumped out of the workshop, and where did he train there, what a name for the workshop, but if they gave it to me, it would scratch the sign."

"Well, I know what you're trying to say. Sometimes they deserve it. Well, what's going on?"

I. Recommend non-artisan work.

Those who have no pride or who have cut off their own talents in the management of this village will devour them.

"What else could Takakus possibly introduce you to if you recommend a job?

"Is there a ram bird breeder, a strawberry grower, and then a traffic guide?"

Melmie agrees with Richay, who counts fingers.

"Utilities are those three, right? Mr. Aleut's doing a great job on the church wedding business. The management of the Inn is not suitable given the state of business in the village of Couvesta."

"I wonder if you want me to work as an employee, not as a manager"

"A lot of people were making bodies, weren't they? I wonder if it would make customers feel intimidated."

"… to the city of Kattera, to study abroad, to make"

Teten has come up with a twisted opinion.

"Study abroad."

If you were to study in Kattera City, you would be taught at the Training School for Heat Resource Managers.

If you can grow a heat source manager, you can increase the number of hot water stores and reduce the workload of tetens.

But the heat source manager is an elite qualification. We have to break through quite a few difficult tests.

"Let's present them with the option of studying abroad."

I'm glad there are architectural aspirations as well as heat source managers.

"Problem is, they really want to continue craftsmanship."

"I can only think of enough to get you to write a pledge and finish in the workshop."

If I let him write a pledge, he won't get away with it, and even if he does, he won't be able to give me the name of the workshop elsewhere.

If you want to get the name of the workshop on the run, just fly away right away and drag the pledge back to the shield.

"You need an explanation as to why you want me to write a pledge. Melmie, when you're done plugging in, go around the workshop in Tacax and look for a place to accept it. Let's get confirmation again, even where we've been promised in advance."

"Okay. Help me plug in Amane too."

"Oh, it's too broad a range to go around alone."

Melmie just made it. Put the plug in the knitting cage and look at me.

Okay, let's go.

"Richay and Teten ask to leave a message"

I can't leave my office unattended for when something happens, so I have to ask Richay and Teten to stay.

I'm leaving the office with Melmie for the second branch.

There doesn't seem to be any particular confusion in the city, it's as busy as usual.

I just get applauded for looking at refugees from the village of Kubesta and thinking they might be driven by anxiety.

It's probably a takakus city with a lot of tourists from time to time and unfamiliar people walking away, which is why there's so little confusion.

"Cyrillic is a demon worm. If it comes, Amane, can you take it down?

I shake my head to the side to answer the question that Melmie whispers.

"I don't know, maybe I can't. Jicha also tells me to escape without a scratch unless there are ten hand-worked demon bug hunters who can work together and have no escorts."

"He's such a dangerous demon bug..."

"I rarely come out. It's rare to even be witnessed once every 100 years."

That is why no effective method of crusading has been defined.

"Let's hope they don't raid until this one's ready."
