Why don't you build a village on top of the world tree

Lesson 21: Trade in Specialty Products

Joynesley, a skyscraper that exists east of the world tree.

A fictitious library is counted as one of the attractions, and residents also cite a fictitious library as a reason why Yoinsley wants to be Yoinsley.

I myself have been an architect and bridge builder with an office here for a long time, so I have attachments. False libraries are the place to meet Richay.

Nevertheless, it is not with the purpose of a fictional library that I took to Yoinsley today.

"Hey, how you doing?

Find the person you are looking for in front of the stall, which is the meeting place, and speak up.

Kanes and Mr. Calaria, the rendezvous people who noticed my voice, saw this one.

"I'm fine. Long time no see, Mr. Richay."

Kanes gives a mild greeting to Richay walking next to me.

Next to Kanes, Mr. Calaria lowered her head gently.

"Congratulations on your marriage"

"Thank you. Congratulations on your marriage."

Richay bows her head slightly and pays back to Mr. Calaria.

I met Kanes in the face and exchanged hi-touches.

"Do it right, you piece of shit."

"We're each other, you heckling bastard."

A blamed gaze was turned by each other's classy wives as they slapped a light mouth next to the two classy wives.

"You're not a child anymore, so be polite and exchange greetings, Kanes."

"You're the mayor now, aren't you? Be calm and behave as you should at times like this, Amane."

"Yes."

When Kanes and I reply at a rate that also has no shards of reflection, the two wives sigh and stare at each other.

"Well, this is what happens when Amane and the others are all here."

"It's what I expected, but it won't change forever."

"Absolutely. I'll always be the one Calaria loved."

I spit out the floating lines of my teeth without a shudder, beside Kanes, who gives me a gentleman's thank you, and I take a shower.

"That's great, Kanes. I can't tell you that line then."

I can't do it because it's too shiny.

"Heh, so what would Amane say?

"Huh? I won't say anything. Just hang out with Yoinsley when you're done with your business."

Mostly around memories. I thought I had the advantage.

"It's sloppy. But I don't even have the nerve to waste Amane and her dating time. Take me to the restaurant you're booking, so we can have a business meeting, right?

"Sure. This way, follow me"

I took Kanes and Mr. Calaria to a luxury kiosk set up in Yoinsley's Yunnan Hierarchy.

We were led to a private room in the arriving kiosk, where we surrounded the table and waited until the drinks were brought, before starting a business meeting.

It was Richay who cut the fire.

"Nevertheless, I was surprised by the sudden talk. I can't believe you want to trade in specialties."

Yes, I met the Kanes and the others at Yoinsley today, for one thing, to discuss this trade deal.

This trade story, brought up in Kanes' letter, also leads to a direct relationship between Takakus and Aquas, which until now has only been a relationship through us, the founders.

Even if it's because the founders know each other and have some knowledge of their minds, it's too big a story to go on just exchanging letters.

That's why I digested and interacted with a tightly packed schedule until this time of year, which is also past the middle of summer, to finally set up a place for talks.

Mr. Calaria nods at Richay's words.

"We made time quite impossible for each other, and we just want to reach a big deal in today's discussion."

"Now, about the trade item"

As Richay stepped to the point, Ms. Calaria looked sideways at Kanes.

Gazed Kanes takes over after.

"First, from Aquas, it's Ayuka. This includes not only smoked products, but also things that remain alive"

"I just don't get it there"

It was also touched upon in a letter that had been exchanged beforehand, but is it something that can carry Ayuka alive from Aquas south of the world tree to Takakus north, the other side?

Mr. Calaria comes out with a piece of paper.

"We have listed the transportation methods and routes, as well as the number of days required. If you have any questions, we can do so."

Peek into the paper offered with Richay.

It's a simple way of loading water onto the cargo deck of a coyote car and transporting Ayuka, a freshwater fish, while swimming on a watered deck.

Simple enough, it can be considered a plan that would have been conceived by various merchants before. But I hear it's not happening because Aquas was putting a lifting limit on Ayuka, the tiger's child, and thorough surveillance to keep the organism out.

"May I ask why you have now lifted the ban on taking it out?

Asked by Richay, Mr. Calaria pulled his jaw.

"I hope you don't misunderstand. It's not about lifting the ban on take-out, it's about lifting the ban on exports to takakus."

"... unless it's exported to Takakus, it remains restricted?

Mr. Calaria nodded at Richay's inquiry and raised his index finger on his right hand. That finger, white and thin, suggests there is another condition.

"It is also forbidden to export Ayuka organisms from the city of Tacax. I'm going to include this in my agreement."

You shouldn't even farm it on your own in Takakus City. It is the purpose of this talks to create a common understanding of these details, although I do not intend to do so from the outset.

At the end of the story about Ayuka, Kanes continues to talk about trade items.

"Before we talk about another product, I want you to look at the real thing."

When Kanes sent his gaze, Mr. Calaria took the crate out of his bag. When the lid of a small box of twenty centimetres square is opened, the blades of the rum bird are tightly packed inside.

When Mr. Calaria removed the blades of the ram bird above, something like a yellow petite tomato emerged from inside.

"It's the fruit of Cousteau."

This is it.

Peek into the contents of the box with Richay and observe.

Kusua is a new species of plant whose presence has just been confirmed in the cloud-no-layer.

Even though it is the cloud mesosphere, what has been discovered is on the branches owned by the city of Aquas, but also where it is turned into a natural lake.

The fruit of the new species of plants is very sweet and slightly mild acidity, and it is delicious because it is probably carried by wild birds.

It germinates in the water, floats rhomboid leaves on the water surface and drifts roots in the water to absorb nutrients, and eventually blooms and adds yellow fruit from two to four. It's actually very soft and contains a lot of moisture and is prone to rot.

Due to its nature, it cannot be smoked and is difficult to dry. Or, it's too soft to export and crumbles during transport in a coyote car.

So it's only consumed within Aquas, and I've never seen it before.

Mr. Calaria smiled and gave Richay the little box.

"I'll give it to you. That's why I brought it."

"Thank you"

Richay carefully receives the small box and looks at the fruit of the Cousteau.

"Ram bird wings are cushions, right?

"Yes, there are no problems with measures of this magnitude as long as they are to the extent of carrying one or two by hand. However, if we try to transport a consolidated number…"

"That means we have a dedicated coyote car. Yes, this is the blueprint"

Kanes, who took over after Mr. Calaria, spreads the blueprint. Looks like a whole remodeled replacement for a coyote car carrier, conceived to absorb shocks as much as possible and protect the load.

Kanes shrugs his shoulders.

"No, I really had a hard time. Craftsmen and I have been bothering each other for three years, and building many prototypes won't work. Four jade coins, I spent it developing this coyote car."

The blueprints of the Coyote cars, Kanes told us, included a selection of materials up to one part at a time, most of which was occupied by parts that seemed to be the collaboration of skilled woodworkers and devil bug material makers.

"By the way, there's talk of introducing this into a riding coyote car. I brought blueprints because I thought I might want them in the tourist town of Tacax, but I'll talk to you later."

"It looks like a lot of delicious blueprints to hang from."

I want a mess, yes.

When I tried it, and picked one of the fruits of Cousteau, I was surprised at its softness. Softness that can deform at its own weight when placed on a desk.

A coyote car that does not impinge on the carrier enough to carry it so that it does not crush this. I can guess how comfortable that ride is.

By the way, it was actually a balance of sweetness and acidity closer to strawberries than petite tomatoes when I tried the couscous fruit. The texture, however, seems to bounce a bit the moment the skin chews thinly, causing massive amounts of moisture that were trapped inside the skin to pour out simultaneously. The saggy fruit juice spreads irresistibly over the tongue, but the sweetness is soft and does not kuddle because the gentle acidity follows later.

"Oh, this is delicious"

You can just mix it in meringue for a little treat, and if you add gravy and a small amount of alcohol, it turns into an elegant sauce quickly. Such fruit juice.

Kanes laughs at me all the time.

"Did you understand the value of the product?

"Oh, I understand. Enough to make me want to pay tribute and thank you for your efforts in exploring ways to export. Dismantling is good, this."

They caught my interest because I complimented them, and Richay mouths one piece of Cousteau fruit, and he rounds his eyes.

"I see, I see."

Richay tries with a convincing look to manipulate the words calmly and continues.

"Now we have to explain the trade products that Takakus presents."

Richay took out the paper and offered it to Mr. Calaria.

Mr. Calaria receives the paper and peeks in with Kanes.

"This one serves sink, and ichikowka"

Sinks that are no longer branded are still exported to the outside world and raw meat can only be eaten within the Tacax city.

Although Ichikouka only sells seeds, it has not been able to switch to large-scale cultivation by creating specialized equipment anywhere. Through that gap, the names are sold everywhere as Ichikowka in Takakus, and they also trade exclusively.

I turned my gaze to Kanes.

"Export the sink to Aquas alive. Of course, breeding is strictly forbidden. It's just like Ayuka around here."

"I know. So, does Ichikowka steadily supply us?

"The number of colors you want, but it's a selling complaint. In partnership with several towns, we are also able to combat discolouration. You can rest assured of a stable supply."

"Okay."

Kanes offers me his right hand.

"Well, then, bring each other's achievements -"

"Let's catch up with the east and west skyscrapers."

I'll give you my right hand too and shake hands with Kanes.

A system of cooperation in various areas built in a long relationship between Joynesley in the East and Beauterrum in the West who are in rivalry but work together.

The same thing is now officially tied between me, the representative of the Tacax of the North, and Kanes, the representative of the Aquax of the South.

"Then it's our last fight."

When I laugh, Kanes laughs invincibly, too.

I'll build the skyscraper first.

"No, because I'm first"

I can shake hands.

"No, no, I'll be first."

"No, no, I'm first."

Critical and powerful in shaking hands.

"Amane hates to lose."

"Kanes hasn't given up badly,"

As painful as it hurts, the handshake is tightly tied.

"By the way, why don't we just let it go?

"Is that the one you can't help but want to leave?

- Oh, come on.

The shock of Richay and Mr. Calaria slapping him in the head at the same time ended the handshake.
