Why don't you build a village on top of the world tree

Episode VIII: Special Breeding Huts

In the middle of winter.

At his feet, beneath the branches of the no-layer on the cloud, the cloud sea spread and was covered by clouds to the edge of his sight. Of course, the situation of takakus below the cloud-no-layer is unlikely.

Still only one of our houses is on top of the branches of the cloud-no-layer, which is the kind of view that obscures whether this place is a takaku or not.

However, there was now a new building in the cloud-no-layer.

It is a special breeding shed, a testing ground for wild bird poultry planning.

The size of the building is about the size of three rows of our houses. It's a pretty simple structure inside, and it's far cheaper than home because it's unmatched in furniture.

"Is it a treehouse"

Marcto looks up at the special breeding shed and squeals.

"I thought the nearer to wild bird habitats would reduce stress during breeding."

"Great consideration. Amane thinks about people who live there even if they're not."

"It's my first attempt, and you want to do it where I can get my hands on it"

The location hits the outskirts of the cloud-no-tier. This place is definitely a suburb out of the compartment because it's still our only home situation and there's no suburb or anything, but we've already sorted it out to create a residential area. No matter what anyone says.

I look up at the special breeding shed.

"There are five host trees. They are all inserted branches of the world tree, so they become evergreen trees. Big birds go wild inside and they don't shake."

Stability is outstanding.

There are three breeding rooms in total. Each of them has a semi-independent cabin with a single host tree, with floors present about three metres above ground.

The roof was a double-inclined gambrel roof with the wife's side facing the front door, taking care that the domer could be applied to the building side two at a time for ventilation and lighting. The domer is fitted with a rhomboid lattice, and he hasn't forgotten the trick to prevent wild birds from escaping.

But when I try this, it still looks like a bird's nest box. As a matter of fact, it is.

I tried to double the slope of the roof or set up a domer to avoid cheap shapes, but couldn't beat the atmosphere?

Would it be salvation to have a staircase to go up to the special breeding cabin on the tree? The existence of the stairs proves that this building is not the only inhabited space for creatures flying in the sky. It's a powerful presence under the edge.

So I step to the bottom of the stairs.

"Just now, but check the breadth inside. I think a small wild bird would be too much, but a big bird like a helo might have some ideas."

Copy that, sir.

Lead Marcto inside a special breeding cabin that may even be tense and skipping.

Upon ascending the bi-fold staircase, which folds back at a height of one and a half metres supported by a single tree, you exit into an aerial corridor three metres wide.

This aerial corridor has become the corridor surrounding the special breeding cabin, which runs to the letter of the mouth to surround the special breeding cabin.

Behind the stairs, there is a special breeding shed entrance space on the front.

When I saw the entrance with only one, Marcto frowned.

"We were going to grow three kinds of wild birds, is there one building? In Ram Birds, we see other individuals, and if we can, we'd like a breeding shed for each type."

"Don't be early. I'm independent of the three rooms inside. This front door is only a front door for entering a special breeding shed"

I open the front door and invite Marc inside.

It's a little hallway, like an entrance, when you knock on the door. The front wall was lined with three doors at equal intervals.

I point to the door.

"Beyond that door is a separate special breeding shed."

"Oh, you have this hall so that you can get to and from each breeding cabin easily."

I look around the hall as Marcto nodded Hmm, realizing his intentions.

Although the three huts themselves are independent so that birds cannot come and go, each entrance is connected in this hall to facilitate the movement of the breeders.

This hall is just below the plug roof.

I'll explain each space in the hall to Markt.

It is a library and living room with a back door, rest space to the left and a bookshelf to the right to store materials and observation records.

Most importantly, each space is a step higher than the floor and has some easy partitions, which do not make it independent as a room. Because if you don't keep the entrance to the breeding cabin in sight at all times, you won't notice if the bird escapes through the half-opened door.

"It's a little narrow, but you're gonna be okay, right?

"Right. I don't think there's a problem with the work. You know, bringing in bait and all that stuff comes from the back of a breeding shed, right?

"Yeah, if you go around the back in the corridor surrounding this facility, the feeding port's attached to each breeding shed."

Every time you bring the bait in from the front side with the entrance doorway, there is a chance that the birds flocking to the bait will come out in excess of momentum. To prevent this, we put a feeding port behind our back.

For one or two, it is built with the mind to prevent birds from escaping. It's no longer a prison. I don't think the bird can get away with it at the point where the guard is Marcto.

I see the door leading to each of the three special breeding huts on the opposite wall of the entrance.

"Finally."

Marcto, who followed my gaze, squeaks excitedly. It's nothing. It's not your house, but it's not like you're too intimate with wild birds, right?

All three are the same size, so for now I'll pull through the door of the nearest middle breeding shed.

By the way, it's a double door to prevent birds from escaping. I'm the one who designed it, but I'm too biased to pull it off a bit. I notice the intent of the double door and pull it twice on Marcto, who is nitrous.

"Ooh..."

Marcto leaked his voice like he was impressed when he looked inside the special breeding shed. I guess it's because I imagined a murderous landscape with nothing, but a spacious space.

"Um, what's the central tree?

"It's a host tree that supports this special breeding shed."

One tree that is trying to punch through the center to create a presence and stretching branches everywhere.

It is a host tree that supports this breeding cabin, while at the same time becoming a stopping tree for the wild birds that breed it.

"It is better to be as close as possible to the growing environment of the wild birds. Some birds are only in the clouds, and the world tree should be indoors."

Maybe you have the habit of getting salt from the bark of a world tree.

"I just left some branches to pay for. You should manage it regularly in the future."

Copy that, sir.

If you look up at the roof, you can see a double inclined attic and a vented domer. Dormer is also supposed to be a roofed skylight, unlike a skylight that is integrated with the roof and fits diagonally, with windows fitted perpendicular to the ground.

Because the sun is strong in the cloud no-layer, direct sunlight heats the room in normal skylights and can become a steam bath state, so that direct sunlight can be ventilated while minimizing it using a domer. There is also a vent on the wife's side of the roof, which is fitted with a rhombus lattice.

The light plugging from the domer illuminates the host tree all divine, and it's a pretty good environment.

Head to the back of the breeding shed to bypass the host tree.

There was a shallow bait bowl fixed, and there was a thin, postal post inlet-like hole above the wall. There is a feeding port on the back that pinches the wall of this hole, allowing the breeder to feed the birds inside without worrying about them escaping.

At the right end of the wall is a corner covered with walls. In addition to the trash can, this is where you keep your cleaning tools.

Having finished introducing my special breeding cabin, I dive double doors with Marcto and sit in a round chair that I keep in my break space.

"So, it's just the hello bird and the owlii to grow, and then the wagisa, right?

"Yes. The main fate is the hellohollow bird and O'Willie. I think it might be easier to grow wagisa because it tastes bad but has less exercise, and I will see how it goes while improving the taste. We're going to do a little research on how to cook."

"Do you even ask some restaurant to do research on how to cook?

"I'm going to do it at home and I'm getting an understanding from my wife, but I'm getting a meeting to join from an interesting baked chicken shop. He wanted to eat and see a hello bird once as a grilled chicken, and he just accepted it for work."

Sometimes I get scared of Markt's behavior.

"A yakitori shop is that one where the lever tastes bad?

"Exactly. He's a very enthusiastic, very good father."

"When you bake a helo, ask me out, too. I want to go for a drink."

"Let's get this over with."

Thumbs up at the same time and compliments them.

"Speaking of which, do you keep the three types of birds you plan to raise alive?

"I heard three days ago that it was time for the breeding cabin to be completed, and I put it through to the Devil Bug Hunter Guild"

"Oh well. If you haven't already, I was thinking of heading out to the Devil Bug Hunter Guild after this, but you saved me a lot of trouble."

I mean, what would you have done if it hadn't been completed as planned?

Well, it's construction on the cloud-no-layer, so it won't be affected by the weather, and now if it's three days before completion, how can we not talk about importing materials, so was it a good time to make a request?

Marcto does well, even though it's not brave and it's inherently difficult to take the initiative to move the plan forward without delay.

"Yes, Mr. Amane, about yesterday, I had the wingtip smoked in a sink made of salt from a no-layer on the cloud."

"The guy who made tetens. That was delicious."

It was a delicacy that concentrated the taste of lamb birds with salt gas and sink, which contained a hint of sweetness characteristic of the salt of the no-layer on the cloud.

In small quantities, I sold it at a Tacax souvenir store on the air market, but it sold out quickly. I even put it in to say no to it being an experimental product, but it seems that the producer was teetered also fueled the customer's willingness to buy.

Somehow, his name seems to be spreading as a Teten smoker, starting with Matra smoking.

"The salt of the no-layer on the cloud has also established a mass production system, and from next year onwards, products made from the salt of the no-layer on the cloud will also come in cheaper from the smoked real city of Cuttera. If you succeed in poultrying wild birds, you can also get them with delicious salt."

"You're motivated"

That means we can motivate Marcto if we talk about eating birds for now. Nothing unexpected.

You won't have to worry about your wife getting spooked, and I want you to work on your poultry plan.

"How far is the education of ram bird breeders going?

"Two of the four will already be entrusted with the task. There are two of us left, but one of us is not physically fit, so we changed our policy to let him memorize the pathological research material on the ram bird. I hope I can educate you as a doctor specializing in birds, but whether it works or not"

"How motivated are you in person?

"You're motivated. But neither research material nor even the harmonization of terminology has progressed, so it seems difficult to memorize and understand. There is a difference in prior knowledge between us and the people in the village of Goigara, so it's impossible."

"I see. Let me know when you can put it out for training to the village of Goigalla. I'll make a plan here."

"Yes, sir."
