Wielding the Thunders Across Two Worlds

Chapter 421 - 420: Eight Vast Universe Tower to Jinling

The tourists around the Eight Vast Universe Tower were in an uproar.

Some were scared stiff, staring blankly at Taoist Shen Hao, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

Some were shocked and furious, but their instincts told them not to be rash. No one stepped forward to accuse or curse him. They either glared angrily at Taoist Shen Hao, took out their phones to film, or called the police.

Others fled in a hurry. Some ran for their lives without looking where they were going. Others filmed behind them as they ran, even providing a running commentary on the situation.

Of course, there were also those who, far from being afraid, even looked at Taoist Shen Hao with eyes full of admiration.

The chaos in the park, of course, did not affect Taoist Shen Hao. With a mere wave of his sleeve, everyone near the Eight Vast Universe Tower was sent several hundred meters away.

The next moment, the people who had just landed felt the ground tremble, shaking them so much they couldn’t keep their balance. Many with poor coordination even fell to the ground.

"What’s going on?"

"An earthquake!"

"But there was no warning!"

"Look, the ground in front of us is splitting open!"

Lying on the ground, the crowd saw a fissure split the earth not far in front of them, separating them from the Eight Vast Universe Tower.

Then, the fissure grew wider and wider. They watched as the ground on the other side began to rise, bringing up soil and rock from below, with dirt and rubble trickling down.

"This is..."

"He’s going to take the Eight Vast Universe Tower with him!"

RUMBLE—

Taoist Shen Hao’s Magical Power was now immensely profound. While he couldn’t lift an entire mountain, a mere hill with a stone tower, along with a connected patch of land, was well within his abilities.

He enveloped the entire plot of land with his Magical True Qi, uprooting it completely—foundation, rocks, trees, and all!

Beneath Taoist Shen Hao’s feet was the stone tower. Beneath the tower was its base, beneath the base were stone railings, beneath the railings were steps, and beneath the steps was the plaza. As he took off with this entire section of land, to the surrounding tourists, it looked just like a small Floating Island ascending into the sky.

If they hadn’t known that the Extraordinary existed in this world and hadn’t seen Taoist Shen Hao with their own eyes, they would have thought they were dreaming!

When the Floating Island was completely off the ground, the tremors stopped. When the crowd looked up again, all that remained was a massive pit several thousand square meters in area. Groundwater was already beginning to seep and bubble up inside, and perhaps in time, it would fill the entire crater.

But by then, only a placid lake would remain, and the Tower of Peace would be gone forever.

...

Taoist Shen Hao stood atop the Eight Vast Universe Tower, steering the Floating Island westward, making a grand, unconcealed spectacle as he flew.

Everyone below who saw it wore a look of utter disbelief, their mouths agape and eyes wide, muttering incomprehensible words.

Their reactions were similar to the people in Pinghe Park: some stood frozen in place, some ran around in a frenzy, some hid cautiously, some screamed, some called the police, and of course, some knelt and kowtowed.

Of course, there were also tourists from his own country traveling in the area, who recognized the golden Magical Robe atop the tower from afar.

"The old Taoist Master came all the way to Sakura Paste to cause trouble?"

"What is that?"

"The Eight Vast Universe Tower?"

"Holy shit!?"

WHOOSH—

From the distant sky came a sharp whistling sound. Two fighter jets streaked past, but they didn’t approach Taoist Shen Hao, merely circling in the distance.

"Report! Target spotted!"

"Requesting further instructions!"

In the command room, a blond officer stood next to a shorter officer, a look of anticipation on his face. "This is a rare opportunity to probe him. We can’t miss it!"

The shorter officer grunted, "Hai," and nodded at the communications operator.

"Unit One, fly a transverse path across the target’s advance and show him the missiles under your wings!" the operator said into the radio. "Unit Two, continue the intercept after Unit One and deploy flares!"

The two pilots said nothing.

"Baka! That’s an Immortal who can fly a small mountain!"

"Are you trying to get us killed?"

"You said we were only here for reconnaissance!"

The pilots’ voices echoed back to the command room. The shorter officer’s face turned livid. He snatched the radio and barked, "This is Iwata Takao! Execute your orders!"

After he spoke, silence fell on both ends.

Looking up at the fighter jet positions on the command room’s main screen, Iwata Takao saw that the two jets were still just tailing Taoist Shen Hao from a great distance, showing no intention of engaging.

So he picked up the radio and repeated forcefully, "Execute your orders!"

Again, there was only dead silence.

Iwata Takao’s face was flushed red, but his eyes clearly showed relief. He turned to the blond officer beside him. "The Sakura National Guard is poorly trained. I have disappointed you, Your Excellency. I will be sure to bow in apology later.

But the situation is urgent. Perhaps it would be best to ask His Excellency Carlos to scramble the Huaqi pilots stationed in Sakura Paste? After all, it was your country’s pilots who saved Sakura Paste from disaster during the nuclear power plant incident."

The blond officer was speechless.

He wasn’t an idiot. He had studied the Berkeley video many times. A Daoist from Celestial Xia had reduced a skyscraper to rubble with a single bolt of lightning. The Attack power was comparable to a medium-range ballistic missile.

Although he didn’t know how powerful this old Daoist was, or how effective he was at attacking fast-moving targets, he had no intention of giving the order himself.

He had heard about what happened to the Calvin Clan and the Frank Clan, too.

The blond officer looked at Iwata Takao, merely giving him a meaningful glance without speaking.

Iwata Takao pretended not to understand, his gaze shifting away.

"Report! The target is now twelve nautical miles off the coast!" a pilot’s voice came through the radio.

"There seemed to be some magnetic interference just now. We couldn’t communicate!" the second pilot reported.

Everyone in the command room breathed a sigh of relief.

Iwata Takao sighed with feigned regret. "Now that he’s crossed the twelve-nautical-mile border, we have no reason to engage. Return to base."

Meanwhile, Taoist Shen Hao also sighed with great regret. ’I didn’t expect them to be such cowards. If their army is this gutless, why do they talk so tough?’

Shaking his head, Taoist Shen Hao put it out of his mind. Since they were merely escorting him, he didn’t make a move.

After leaving Sakura Paste from Kagoshima, Taoist Shen Hao steered the Floating Island directly across the sea. He soon reached the Yangtze River Estuary and flew upstream along the Yangtze River, drawing gasps of astonishment all along the way.

By the time he reached Jinling, personnel from the relevant departments had already cordoned off an empty area on the shore of Mo Chou Lake. The area was surrounded on all four sides by a crowd of eager onlookers.

Taoist Shen Hao controlled the Floating Island as it slowly descended, with part of it sinking into the lake and the other part connecting to the shore.

Facing the common people who were looking at him with such fervor, Taoist Shen Hao did not speak. He simply nodded, then bowed three times toward the memorial hall in the distance before his figure vanished.

Seeing Taoist Shen Hao disappear, the thousands of people present were not surprised, nor did they cause a commotion. Instead, they too turned toward the memorial hall and began to bow in silence.

But this resounding silence sent a chill down the spine of every foreign tourist present.
