Chapter 1015 - 34: Hunter’s Visit
Handled the three animals that intruded into the encampment.
Fred and Roland were a bit puzzled too.
That was so easy!
Are these two Wolverines not afraid?
Chen Wen glanced at the two Wolverines, but he slightly furrowed his brow.
These two Wolverines are not quite the same as the one that spied on the encampment yesterday!
According to the Snowy Owl, that Wolverine’s size was slightly smaller than these two.
Moreover, that Wolverine was extremely sharp, but these two Wolverines seemed very reckless in comparison.
"What shall we do now?"
Roland looked at Chen Wen.
Chen Wen calmly replied, "Still the same as before, go sit over by the encampment, wait for the person who fired the shot to come."
While speaking, Chen Wen shared the view from the Golden Eagle again, to check the situation on the hunters’ side.
The other side seemed to have heard the dying screams of the wild boar, currently moving much faster.
Chen Wen closed the view from the Golden Eagle and went over to the wild boar.
He took a look at this boar, quite large.
In Siberia, specifically around Lake Baikal, there are two types of wild boars.
One is relatively small, known as the Siberian wild boar, generally weighing just a few dozen pounds.
The other is the Ussuri boar.
This Ussuri boar in front of Chen Wen is the big one, the male Ussuri boar can generally weigh over three hundred kilograms.
Ussuri boars were distributed long ago in Russia’s Far East region, and in the Ussuri area.
But in recent years, as animal protection policies began to show results, these boars have proliferated and become quite common around Lake Baikal.
Before coming here, Fred had sent Chen Wen information from the Russian Survival Association, only then did Chen Wen know about these big fellas in this survival area.
This Ussuri boar is male, weighing heavily, probably over three hundred kilograms.
It lay on the ground like a small black mountain.
This wild boar also had quite long tusks, looking exceptionally fierce.
However, at this moment, it could no longer act ferociously.
Chen Wen’s spear was quite precise, directly piercing its front shoulder blade, under the immense power of "Giant Strength" and "Great Strength," it penetrated its front half, the spearhead emerging from its abdomen.
A penetrating injury, hitting the lungs.
Surely dead!
Chen Wen pulled out the long spear without lingering.
The group of hunters was also getting close.
At this moment it was still better to sit by the encampment, staying still.
Not long after Chen Wen returned next to Fred, in the forest, three light sources shone somewhat messily towards here.
Someone is approaching!
...
"Hey, are there people ahead?"
The young man hadn’t noticed the bloodstains on the ground, his attention on the forest ahead, where a faint glow of fire could be seen.
Upon hearing this, the bald hunter paused.
He seemed to recall something and couldn’t help but say, "Hey, Boris, don’t you feel this place is familiar?"
Boris, the bearded hunter, nodded, "More than familiar! Arseny, isn’t this the place where your brother used to log? Wow, how did it get here?"
Arseny, the bald hunter, nodded, "Precisely here!"
At this moment, the young man couldn’t help but say, "Let’s not worry about whether it’s the place you mentioned, but didn’t you see? There’s someone up ahead!"
Arseny grinned and said, "Relax, there aren’t few campers around here, they might just be camping or hunting people, after all, it’s the end of hunting season; our prey might have been intercepted by them. Let’s go check it out, maybe your tent is there."
Boris nodded, "That’s the case, here is quite near your camp, it’s very likely the people who took your tent."
The young man nodded but still felt a bit apprehensive, "Is it really okay for us to go over directly like this?"
Boris chuckled and tapped the rim of the young man’s hat, "Just speak well, as long as there’s no hostility, folks are generally quite friendly these days."
As the three spoke, they emerged from the forest into a more open logging area.
That is, Chen Wen and the others’ encampment.
Arseny raised his hand, tossing the spear in his hand to the ground, making a loud noise.
He briefly surveyed the surroundings, having gotten a pretty good look at the situation here.
The fallen wild boar on the ground, he recognized it too.
Clearly, the creature that attacked their camp was this one.
Arseny paused and loudly said, "Friends on the forest clearing, we are hunters from nearby, just now our camp was attacked by this wild boar, we fired shots, and it seems dead now, are you guys uninjured?"
After speaking, Arseny whispered, "Boris, your shot was precise, directly inflicting a fatal injury!"
Boris nodded confidently and said, "Naturally! My marksmanship is unbelievably accurate!"
Upon hearing the sound from the other side.
Chen Wen nudged Fred’s back, asking him to translate.
Upon understanding the other party’s intent, Chen Wen said, "Tell them, we’re uninjured; moreover, if it’s certain they’re friendly, have them leave their weapons and come over to meet us."
Fred nodded, also raising his voice to communicate with the other side.
The two sides exchanged a conversation for more than a minute.
Then Fred nodded towards Chen Wen, "They’re coming over."
Chen Wen inserted the long spear near the campfire, having the others also place their weapons by the fire, waiting for Arseny and the other two to arrive.
As Arseny and the others approached, the two hunters, watched by everyone, left their weapons in a visible spot.
"Hey, good evening."
Boris, seemingly naturally sociable, cheerfully greeted everyone.
Fred nodded and said, "Could we speak in English? They’re my friends, foreign friends."
Upon hearing this, Boris realized.
He thought these folks looked somewhat unlike Russians.
He smiled and said, "Of course, are you here traveling?"
As he spoke, Boris also surveyed the encampment.
But quickly, Boris noticed something was off.
This encampment had no tents!
𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Only a few sleeping bags by the campfire!
Not right!
Boris instinctively looked at his partner, while Arseny also felt something was amiss with the group in front of him.
Their expressions became a bit stiff, uncertain of what to say.
But just then, the young man, sharp-eyed, or perhaps he had been searching for his tent all along.
Soon, the young man noticed a folded-up red tent laying quietly in a corner by the campfire.
He immediately exclaimed excitedly, "Hey, friends, where did you get this tent?"
Adam heard the young man’s question and answered, "We found it at a not too distant abandoned encampment, could it be..."
The young man nodded excitedly, "Yes, yes, it’s my tent! I went camping with friends, ran into some trouble, and left early, leaving the tent nearby."
Hearing the young man’s words, Adam looked at Chen Wen, who nodded, signaling Adam to return the tent.
After all, they don’t really need a tent.
The weather isn’t too cold yet, tents aren’t of much use, and as it gets colder, tents won’t keep warm.
Plus, the tent carries bloodstains, none of them really want to stay in it.
So returning it to its original owner is the best solution.
