Aotearoa didn't have to be flown because she instantly put up a powerful magic fence, but Leila, Deena and Atra had each been moved elsewhere.

The ancient dragon was flying over the sky the moment the door opened, preventing the effect of the trap by its own walls while minimizing the impact.
