Wizard: Building a Golem Legion From Zero

Chapter 399 - 388: Angel’s Descent

A colossal, sharply defined oval shadow hung suspended in the dim sky above.

It was unlike any flying object William recognized.

Its entire body was a matte black, deeper than the night itself, like a void that had appeared out of nowhere on the world’s canvas, greedily devouring all surrounding light.

An irrepressible shudder, born of primal instinct, shot up William’s spine to the top of his skull.

Even the imperious Heart Eater Lord stopped its roaring, its scarlet pupils staring fixedly at the sky.

Dead silence.

Only the crackling of wood burning in the fire and the heavy, suppressed panting of the Knights could be heard.

As everyone watched, a single point of light ignited at the base of the massive black celestial body.

Immediately after, a figure slowly descended from the point of light.

It descended straight down. Its porcelain-white armor glowed with a soft luster, and golden runic lines snaked across it, outlining sacred and majestic patterns.

Behind it, eight massive, translucent golden wings of light fanned out like a peacock’s tail, specks of light like golden dust drifting from their tips.

"A god..." A surviving Knight swallowed hard, his voice like a mumble in a dream.

The Heart Eater Lord sensed an unprecedented threat. It let out a sudden roar, and the water elements surrounding it instantly condensed into dozens of high-pressure water spears, shooting towards the white figure in the sky like a torrential downpour.

Faced with an attack powerful enough to pierce city walls, the "god" merely raised its right hand calmly and gave a light wave.

WOOOOM—

An invisible Force Field spread out from it.

All the water spears that entered the Force Field’s range disintegrated in an instant, reverting to pure water vapor and dissipating into the air.

The next second, the eight wings of light on Gabriel’s back instantly broke apart, transforming into eight streaks of golden light that shot out at speeds imperceptible to the naked eye.

PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!

The sound of flesh being pierced rang out one after another.

The ordinary Heart Eaters still rampaging through the town didn’t even have time to scream before their heads and torsos were pierced by the golden streaks.

In less than three seconds.

Dozens of Heart Eaters were completely annihilated.

Only the lone Heart Eater Lord was left standing.

It seemed to have finally realized something and turned to flee.

But it was too late.

The eight golden streaks circled once in the air before charging at the largest creature together.

The Heart Eater Lord’s enormous body stiffened. It looked down in disbelief at the eight massive wings of light embedded in its chest, blooming like a golden rose.

Immediately after, a seven-layer chained spell detonated sequentially within its body.

Paralyzing sparks of electricity crawled over its scales, searing flames erupted from its eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, bone-chilling frost froze its limbs, and violent shockwaves shattered its bones inch by inch...

Finally, an extremely muffled explosion erupted from within its body.

This terrifying Demon, on the level of a Holy Spirit Mage, couldn’t even let out a complete cry of agony before it exploded violently from the inside, showering the ground in a rain of shredded flesh and black blood.

The battle was over.

William and the surviving Knights stood dumbfounded, their minds blank as they watched the white giant slowly descend into the town’s Central Square.

’Is this... the "Wizard" my father spoke of?’

’A being that can instantly kill a Heart Eater Lord with ease?’

Gabriel hovered silently half a meter above the ground. The milky white light from its T-shaped visor swept across the area, finally landing on William.

William jolted, instantly snapping back to his senses.

He quickly dropped to one knee, placed his right hand over his chest in the most formal knightly salute of the Aiselan Kingdom, and bowed his noble head.

"William Aislan, first heir to the throne of the Aiselan Kingdom. I pay my respects, Lord Wizard! Thank you for saving the people of Creekvalley."

"We pay our respects, Lord Wizard!"

The twenty-odd surviving Knights behind him followed suit, their voices filled with the relief of having survived and a heartfelt reverence.

Gabriel did not respond.

It just hovered there silently, like a sculpture devoid of emotion.

Just as William was feeling anxious, a calm, emotionless voice echoed directly in his mind.

"Rise."

The voice did not come from the white, godlike statue before him.

William shot his head up, only to see a young man in a black robe who had appeared beside the giant at some unknown point.

He looked very young, with black hair, black eyes, and handsome features, but his deep eyes were utterly indifferent, as if nothing in the world was worthy of stirring the slightest ripple in his heart.

Long before descending, Allen had already used the Demon Eyes he had sent out ahead of time to scan the situation within a hundred-mile radius with perfect clarity.

Only after confirming there were no energy signatures of a First-level Wizard or higher did he choose to reveal himself.

William looked at the man who had suddenly appeared, then back at the majestic white statue, feeling dazed for a moment.

"You... You are?"

"Allen Wesren," Allen stated his name coolly. "The Wizard who accepted your kingdom’s defense mission."

William’s pupils contracted sharply.

’This person... is the Wizard?’

’Then what is this white giant? His servant?’

’A mere servant can easily one-shot a Holy Spirit Mage-level monster?’

The thought made William’s heart convulse wildly.

Allen’s gaze swept over the troop of Knights behind him.

Fifty men, and more than twenty of them were on the ground, barely breathing. Collapsed sternums, ruptured organs.

"Take these."

With a casual wave from Allen, a silver metal case landed at William’s feet and popped open automatically.

Inside were fifty vials of a red potion, arranged neatly.

"Give it to them," Allen said, gesturing to the wounded on the ground.

A knight named Leon hurried forward, picked up a vial, and pulled out the stopper. A rich aura of life wafted out.

He carefully poured the potion into the mouth of a heavily wounded Knight.

A miracle occurred.

The Knight’s collapsed sternum made a series of cringe-inducing CRACKING sounds as it reset itself.

His damaged organs repaired themselves rapidly, and his pale face regained its healthy color at a visible rate.

In less than ten seconds, the Knight, who had been on the verge of death, suddenly opened his eyes and sat up.

"I... I’m not dead?" The Knight touched his chest, his face a mask of disbelief.

William sucked in a sharp breath.

’This level of healing could only be achieved by the two Fourth-level Spirit Mages in the kingdom who specialized in healing, and only by expending a vast amount of Spiritual Power to cast the Great Revival Art.’

And yet this Lord Wizard had casually tossed out an entire case of them.

"My lord, these potions are too precious..." William knelt on one knee again, his face filled with shame and gratitude. "I apologize for my failure of duty! I was supposed to be waiting for your arrival at the ruins, but I..."

"It doesn’t matter," Allen interrupted him. "Your choices have nothing to do with me."

’This was an apprentice-level healing Magic Potion. Ten Low-Level Magic Stones per bottle.’

’He had more than a dozen cases of them piled up in his Space Ring, all old stock from who-knows-when.’

"Dead men create no value," Allen said, looking at William. "Take me to your King."

A chill went down William’s spine.

’It seems this Lord Wizard’s style is cold and extremely focused on efficiency.’

"Your Highness!" Leon ran over, his face flushed with excitement. "All the heavily wounded have fully recovered!"

William said, "We also wish to return as soon as possible, but this place is nearly a hundred miles from the Royal Capital, and our horses, during the last battle..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he was cut short, stunned by another change in the sky.

The massive black celestial body that blotted out the sky was slowly descending.

As it drew closer, its breathtakingly immense silhouette became even clearer.

Smooth metal plating, intricate structural lines, and an overwhelming sense of pressure that came purely from its sheer "immensity."

RUMBLE—

The Sky Throne finally stopped, hovering a hundred meters in the air, its shadow completely engulfing everyone below.

Allen directly used a Golem Projection Skill to open a Space Gate.

"Keep up."

William and his Knights gazed up at the mountain-like steel fortress, then at Allen’s back as he walked toward the "gate to heaven," collectively rendered speechless.

They finally understood why his father had said the power of a Wizard was far beyond a mortal’s imagination.

’How could this be a mortal?’

’This was clearly... a god walking among men.’
