"If I said this was all just an accident, would you believe me?"

Wei’en looked at the mountain-like Deep Sea Giant Beast. Even though it was now mangled beyond recognition, reduced to a corpse, its colossal size was still a shocking sight.

Its body was a strange shade of gray, covered in spikes as long as a person. Across its dozens of thick tentacles, influenced by the properties of death, the skin was either shriveled or covered in pustules. Even more numerous were the craters of flesh and blood left by the Corpse Explosion Skill.

The giant maw buried in the center of its tentacles, in particular, had been blasted into a mangled mess. One could only imagine what a gruesome sight it had been just moments before.

"Tsk, truly a shocking sight. I offer my deepest condolences for your predicament..."

The three bandaged freaks, their cloth-wrapped bodies trembling slightly, had limbs twisted and bent as if they were puppets on strings. Their hollow eyes stared fixedly at Wei’en, clearly enraged by him.

"You!?"

"By the True Lord above, I beseech you to send down divine punishment and smite the Desecrator before us!"

"I... will kill you—"

’Kill me?’

Wei’en looked at them and chuckled. "You can try. But before that, I wonder if I might be so fortunate as to learn your identities?"

Knowing the bandaged freaks’ weaknesses, he wasn’t the least bit flustered. ’No matter how strong they are, can they be stronger than the cold corpse of the Deep Sea Giant Beast right next to us?’

Though he had to admit, he was quite surprised himself—

"Nage, Lichen!"

One of the freaks pulled a silver necklace from his tattered gray robe and, his roar muffled and hoarse from behind the bandages, shouted a phrase in Gonzalez.

"Twilight Secret Cultivators? Is that who you are?"

"Hmm? How do you...?"

The bandaged freaks, apparently not expecting Wei’en to be fluent in Gonzalez, exchanged a look. Then, the grayish-yellow cloth strips on their bodies unraveled and shot toward Wei’en to entangle him.

The corner of Wei’en’s mouth twitched. ’Getting angry out of embarrassment already?’

"Nico, Ruke."

Since it had come to this, he wasn’t going to hold back any longer. The sooner he dealt with these people, the sooner he could leave this part of the sea.

He cast several Blink Spells, and dozens of illusory clones simultaneously unleashed a Charm Spell on them, completely immobilizing the three bandaged Twilight Secret Cultivators.

"A pity..."

Wei’en looked at the motionless, charmed bandaged freaks, pulled out a sniper rifle, and picked them off one by one.

’If possible, I would have liked to get more information out of these freaks, especially about ’killing intent storage’ and the effects of that Alchemy Array.’

But clearly, these so-called Twilight Secret Cultivators had no intention of answering his questions.

"Desecrator, I curse you! You will be lost, completely devoured by a world of illusion!"

The three bandaged freaks, sensing their impending doom, struggled and roared, "It’s all an illusion!!"

"They couldn’t even die cleanly."

’A curse?’

Wei’en pursed his lips, paying no mind to the ravings of these Secret Cultivators.

Then he looked around.

By now, the entirety of Dakman Island had long since vanished. Aside from the corpse of the giant Deep Sea Giant Beast, there were no living creatures left.

’But on second thought, that made sense.’

After that Alchemy Array activated, the attacks from the cataclysm and the abominations had already killed off most of the life on the island and in the surrounding waters. Add to that the subsequent devouring by the Deep Sea Giant Beast, and it was safe to say that practically nothing was left alive.

In the end, his Corpse Explosion Skill had only detonated a large number of corpses and some deep-sea abominations; the number of people he actually killed was negligible.

Nevertheless, by relying on the damage-stacking effect of the Corpse Explosion Skill, he had managed to kill the Deep Sea Giant Beast outright when it was caught off guard.

Although, there was a large element of luck involved—if not for the massive number of corpses and abominations that had gathered together and been swept toward the Deep Sea Giant Beast, the damage probably wouldn’t have stacked to such a terrifying degree in a single instant.

With this in mind, and based on the principle that waste is a disgrace, Wei’en had his ghosts start their work, devouring the remnants of corpses that hadn’t yet been swallowed by the Deep Sea.

Wei’en opened his panel to check. He remembered his Soul-Devouring Magic was already level 5. Even at that level, he still couldn’t devour the giant beast?

The deep-sea fish and other creatures near the island only gave single-digit Survival Point rewards, and some gave none at all.

And over eighty percent of the rewards had come from the final kill on that Level 3 Cataclysm-grade Deep Sea Giant Beast...
