[Congratulations, your class: Wizard, has been promoted to Intermediate Mage! Special Rewards: Survival Points +200, Resilience Level +100, Spirit Level +400.]

Wei’en stared at the string of notifications on his panel, waiting quietly for a moment. He sighed in relief, but only after making sure his promotion to Intermediate Mage hadn’t plunged him into an Illusion Realm like before.

He recalled the Illusion Realm he had witnessed when he advanced to Official Mage. Even now, he still had his doubts about it.

That girl who called herself his sister—Estelle Loft. The girl who told him not to forget her...

Wei’en always felt that the Loft Clan, his predecessor’s family, was hiding some secret. Or perhaps, the Loft Clan had done something to his predecessor when he left.

So much so that his predecessor’s memories contained nothing about that girl.

’If I get the chance to return to the Eastern Continent, I should pay that clan a visit...’

He recalled a newspaper article mentioning that the Loft Clan had announced his expulsion from the family.

Tsk. Interesting.

Wei’en glanced at the panel again, reviewing the descriptions of the skills he had just learned, as well as his current stats.

Resilience Level: 6052.2

Spirit Level: 6052.2

Origin: 507 (508) (1 point of Origin sealed)

Survival Points: 2040

’So, after reaching the Wizard level, every promotion grants attribute point rewards?’

Wei’en stroked his chin, wondering, ’Is this because of the panel, or do other Wizards also get rewards like this?’

’Another thing I need to find out...’

Overall, however, he was quite satisfied with this upgrade.

The six types of Magic he had chosen—Puppet Substitute Technique, Teleportation Skill, and the flesh-and-blood enhancement skills Blood Boil, Heal, Fortify, and Illusion Technique—had all received a significant boost after being fused with the Death God Origin Rune.

The Substitution Technique now reinforced the Mechanical Puppet’s defense after use, and the Teleportation Skill’s range had been extended.

Blood Boil further enhanced the boost to his Resilience Level, increasing his explosive power.

Although the Heal skill overlapped with the healing power from the Calamity Seed Contract, he tested it and found their recovery effects could be stacked.

The Fortify Magic primarily boosted his physical defense. At level three, it could block attacks up to 130% of his Resilience Level.

But what satisfied Wei’en the most was the effect of the Illusion Technique. Using this Magic greatly reduced the chance of his transformations being detected by someone else’s Origin Power senses.

With the qualitative essence of the Death God’s Origin, even a 30% bonus was enough to block most Origin Power senses.

"Ugh, so hungry."

Wei’en rubbed his stomach and walked out of the workshop.

The recent resilience reward, on top of using his talent to convert some Spiritual Power to keep his Resilience and Spirit Levels balanced, had pushed his body to its limit. An intense hunger washed over him once more.

Hm?

After pushing the door open, Wei’en saw the empty theater. His brow furrowed slightly before relaxing.

Tina was being taught by the clown how to control the power of the Calamity Origin, Shawa and Zero were still busy making Mechanical Puppets in their respective workshops, and Clelia...

’That woman... I didn’t expect her to be so concerned about those Guards...’

With that thought, Wei’en walked to the dining table, found the leftover Blue Marlin, and started eating it with big bites.

While sailing the Cordo Sea, fresh produce like fruits and vegetables was out of the question. Even staples like bread and butter, which he’d had back in Caster City State, were extremely scarce—barely enough to cover the daily needs of everyone on board.

What they had in abundance were various kinds of fish from the sea... After excluding the vast majority of mutated species, there weren’t many varieties left that were edible.

And the Blue Marlin was definitely the most delicious among them. Not only did it melt in your mouth, but it also had a special sweetness, much like eating a light cream cake.

Thus, in less than ten minutes, Wei’en had devoured two Blue Marlins almost as long as he was tall. He patted his belly, still not fully satisfied.

"Not bad, not..."
