Time slipped by unnoticed amidst their focused studies.

Murphy patiently explained computer languages and algorithms to his two daughters.

Mo Ling listened with rapt attention, occasionally raising some tricky questions.

Mo Weiwei, though trying hard to maintain a serious expression, also followed her father’s every explanatory gesture with her bright, dark eyes.

They tried running a few simulation programs. Seeing the data flicker and the results generate on the screen filled the two little girls with excitement.

During their study breaks, Murphy would also manipulate Spiritual Qi to form various interesting micro-constructs or tell clever stories that incorporated principles of physics. This drew laughter from Mo Ling and made even Mo Weiwei’s intentionally serious little face relax unconsciously.

After some unknown amount of time, the heavy, off-white metal door to the core chamber once again emitted a low hum and slid to one side.

A figure walked in with a steady, measured gait.

It was none other than Pope Vesta I, Elizabeth.

She wore a moon-white robe and an exquisite silver coronet that elegantly held up her waterfall of jet-black hair, revealing a smooth forehead and a slender neck.

Her ten years as Pope had not left many traces of time on her delicate features. Instead, they had cultivated a unique aura blending sanctity, wisdom, and authority.

Edwin, who was working with data at a console on the other side, noticed the movement at the door.

He immediately turned around. Seeing the Pope in person, he quickly removed his glasses, placed a hand over his chest, and bowed deeply. "Good day, Your Holiness."

Hearing this, Mo Ling and Mo Weiwei also looked up from the screen.

Mo Ling’s eyes lit up. She slid down from her high stool and called out cheerfully, "Aunt Elizabeth!"

Mo Weiwei reacted differently. She stood up, straightened the hem of her tidy clerical robe, and curtsied slightly. Her voice was clear and respectful. "Good day, Your Holiness."

Elizabeth gave Edwin a slight nod. "There’s no need for such formality, Edwin. Please, continue with your work."

Then, her gaze shifted to the two girls, her expression softening. She walked over and gently patted the head of Mo Ling, who had leaned in, then stroked Mo Weiwei’s tense little face.

"It seems you’ve been studying very diligently." Her voice was much gentler now. "However, I need to borrow your father for a moment to discuss something. You can practice here a little longer, or you can go to the side hall. There are some cakes and honey tea there if you’d like to take a short break, alright?"

Mo Ling blinked and nodded obediently. "Okay, Aunt Elizabeth."

Mo Weiwei also immediately replied, "Yes, Your Holiness. We will practice diligently."

Elizabeth gave them an encouraging smile before turning her gaze to Murphy.

Murphy had already stopped his explanation. He said gently to his two daughters, "Do as Her Holiness says." Then, to Edwin, "Edwin, please look after them for a little while."

"Yes, Your Excellency! Please rest assured!" Edwin quickly replied.

Murphy nodded to Elizabeth, and the two of them walked out of the Mind Furnace core chamber in single file, without a word.

The heavy door closed once more, sealing the low hum of the server room and the faint sound of the girls’ chatter inside.

Instead of returning to the surface, they followed another, more concealed and heavily guarded passage in Sector B-1, heading deeper into the heart of the mountain.

The passage gradually sloped downward, and the lights on either side grew dim.

Along the way, they passed through several doors requiring specific clearance, finally stopping before a gate that looked unremarkable but was forged entirely from some kind of dark silver metal.

Elizabeth stretched out her hand, her fingertips hovering in the air. A faint light flashed in her palm, and a complex runic sigil materialized, pressing itself onto the center of the door.

The dark silver door swung inward without a sound, revealing a downward staircase.

The two descended the stairs.

At the bottom of the stairs, the space opened up dramatically.

Here was a breathtaking, spherical mega-chamber, possibly over five hundred meters in diameter. Its ceiling was extremely high and simulated the celestial movements of the sun, moon, and stars, with soft artificial light spilling down like sunlight.

The soil was fertile, supporting lush ferns with abnormally large, thick fronds and low-lying shrubs.

Babbling streams meandered through the landscape, flowing into several clear lakes of varying sizes.

Most striking were the creatures that inhabited this place.

Rabbits were the size of young goats, their fur glossy, their leaps exceptionally powerful.

Rats that occasionally darted through the bushes were as large as house cats, yet just as agile.

At the edge of the lakes, tortoises with shells nearly two meters in diameter crawled slowly, while the fish swimming in the water, their scales shimmering, were generally longer than an adult’s arm.

One could even see birds with wingspans approaching two meters and magnificent plumage gliding across the simulated sky.

Everything seemed ordinary, yet the animals were universally magnified several, even ten or more, times their normal size, brimming with a vigorous, almost abnormal Life Force.

And suspended in the air, directly above the center of this strange ecosystem and about fifty meters from the ceiling, was an ancient bell.

It was the very same Morning Star Bell that Elizabeth had once struck with her own hands, triggering the October Revolution.

At this moment, it floated there silently, emitting a soft, continuous, platinum-gold radiance, like a miniature Sun illuminating the entire subterranean world.

A translucent Energy field emanated downward from the Ancient Bell, like an overturned bowl, completely enveloping the ecosystem below.

Elizabeth walked to the railing at the edge of the biosphere and looked up at the Ancient Bell.

"My Lord, as you can see, the life activity index within the Cradle has increased by another seven percent over the past three months. The ferns in the central area, in particular, are now growing at twenty times the rate of their surface counterparts. The Ancient Bell’s ’Life Radiation’ intensity is stable, but its range has extended outward by about three meters since the last recording."
