Chapter 726: World Primordial Magical Plants and the Manifest Destiny
The Natural Plane, one of the worlds within the infinite void possessing the most powerful natural force.
This time, Locke entered this world once more in the form of a Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat, and in the form of a Nature Avatar, walked along this forest path.
This was a special forest path. Not only were there trees on both sides of him, but there were also trees underfoot. These were trees of different species, each forming different heights, and thus becoming steps.
Locke's pupils contracted slightly.
This was...
He looked around and finally understood that during the First Circle stage and the apprentice stage, when he had come to the Natural Plane, he had been completely unable to see its true face.
In the past, at the apprentice stage, the first time Locke had come to this world in the form of a Nature Guardian, in his eyes it had been nothing more than a world with an exceptionally dense forest and a World Tree of boundless power.
When he became a First Circle wizard, in his eyes the Natural Plane was a world with inconceivable magic pressure, and the Natural Plane continuously radiated natural force outward, transforming it into gravitational waves that swept through the infinite void. These gravitational waves, refracted by special forces, converged toward planes.
Fulfilling the duty of creation.
It was also during that time, through the benefits given by high-circle wizards to First Circle wizards, that he had been fortunate enough to encounter a rare being in the void, a void behemoth that fed on plane cores. From a single feather of a void behemoth, he had conceived the predecessor of his Moon of Evolution, Full Moon Growth.
But this time, Locke returned to the Natural Plane and discovered that everything he had understood before was wrong.
Completely and utterly wrong.
Abnormally wrong.
He had never truly seen the Natural Plane clearly. And now that he had broken through the soul's limit and become a plural transcendence, he saw for the first time the tip of the iceberg of this great natural force world.
The forest beneath his feet was not a two-dimensional plane. It was a four-dimensional structure.
Above the treetops there was also soil. Above the treetops there were forests. Within those forests there were great trees. Above those great trees there were more forests.
Overlapping and interlocking with each other, combining to form a vast forest world.
The World Tree was not the largest tree standing in a single forest. It was a tree whose crown bore a forest, within that forest were great trees, and upon those great trees were more forests, in an overlapping structure.
The forest beneath his feet was just a small part of the World Tree.
Previously it was simply because his magic pressure had been too weak and his soul level too low. He could only appear within one small forest of the World Tree. Walking to the center of that forest, he had mistakenly believed that the largest tree in that forest was the World Tree.
In truth, every tree in that forest was the World Tree.
Locke stepped along the tree crown steps formed by trees of different heights, ascending continually upward.
At the very top of the tree crown steps, there was one largest tree.
'This is simply inconceivable.' Locke thought, 'The World Tree is the Natural Plane. Its scale is inconceivably vast. I have no idea just how large it is. And this is only the Natural Plane as seen by me as a Second Circle wizard. I cannot even see this version of the Natural Plane in its entirety, because my magic pressure is still not high enough!'
The higher one stands, the farther one can see.
Locke realized that only by continuously raising his magic pressure at the Second Circle stage would he be able to see more of the World Tree's complete form and have any hope of fully seeing the Natural Plane in this state.
Everything was related to his own magic pressure level, which was to say related to the position he occupied.
But even so, it was only limited to the Natural Plane in this state.
'In this state, the World Tree is like a forest upon a tree, and a tree upon a forest. This structure is inconceivably vast. The area of a medium-scale plane seems to be nothing but an ordinary small forest within this structure.'
'And within this structure, there are countless such small forests. A powerful Second Circle wizard standing here is nothing but an ant.'
Locke thought, 'The forest seems boundless and endless in number. Wait... thinking about it this way, this represents the characteristic of the Second Circle.'
Which meant... the Second Circle possessed the special phenomenon of being able to open an endless number of tiers.
Locke traced two fingers through the air, drawing two deep blue arcane energy rings. Each ring was a perfect circle.
Locke then suddenly linked the two rings together with his finger, forming the pattern of the infinity symbol.
"The so-called Second Circle means infinity. Within this magical realm, one can open an unlimited number of magical tiers. This is an infinite tier system."
"But then what is the difference between the Third Circle and the Second Circle?"
A flash of puzzlement crossed Locke's eyes.
From the manifestation of the Natural Plane before him, he had come to understand the true meaning of the Second Circle tier.
At the same time, a question arose in his heart. If one could open an unlimited number of tiers within the Second Circle system, then in theory, for the purpose of simply increasing power, staying within the Second Circle system would allow one to infinitely increase one's power.
It stood to reason that within the infinite void, within the Second Circle system, there were already quite a few divine beings, demon gods, and god-emperor-level existences ruling over the infinite void.
Why had wizard civilization chosen to transcend the Second Circle and find the path to the Third Circle?
This had even been accomplished in the Era of Stars.
Because based on what he had seen during his last entry into the Chronicles of the Era of Stars, Great King Otto possessed power comparable to his teacher, Witch Yekaterina.
And his teacher was the witch at Golden Crown Mountain with the best prospects of becoming a Fourth Circle wizard.
So Great King Otto, who had nearly unified the wizard world in his time, was in essence very close to a Fourth Circle wizard.
The wizard world had already transcended the Second Circle framework in the Era of Stars.
But from his current understanding, the Second Circle was clearly a tier with infinite power, one that could keep rising indefinitely.
If he had not been born in the wizard world, this point alone would have been enough to lead him astray, endlessly opening new tiers within the Second Circle framework and continuously raising his power.
But wizard civilization's Third Circle setting clearly told all subsequent wizards: endlessly raising power within the Second Circle framework would never produce a third soul transcendence.
What was the problem?
A flash of puzzlement crossed Locke's eyes.
This could only be pondered later.
After all, the gap between tiers within the Second Circle was already enormously large.
Being realistic about it, simply climbing tiers within the Second Circle required vast resources, talent, effort, perseverance, and a measure of luck.
There was plenty to work hard at.
Locke had already perceived that now that he had become Second Circle, every point of spiritual power he raised going forward would require astronomical resources.
As Locke walked up the steps, a voice appeared in his ear.
'Last of the Three-Eyed bloodline, you have finally found your companion magical plant.'
This declaration sent waves crashing through Locke's heart. He immediately understood why he had suddenly fulfilled the key conditions for a Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat to advance to the Second Circle.
First, his Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline had to be illuminated by the Star Leo's starlight.
This he had already obtained from the night meteor that the Twin Demon Realm had given to Golden Crown Mountain upon their retreat.
Then the second condition.
The companion magical plant.
It stood to reason that in the ancient wizard world, magical plants and magical creatures formed symbiotic relationships. Quite a few special magical plants required specific magical creatures for their cultivation.
The Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline group should normally cultivate certain specific magical plants that had formed a symbiotic relationship with the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline.
Locke organized what he knew and a scene formed in his mind. A Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat holding a magical plant in its mouth, then using its tiger claws to scratch a hole in the ground, placing the seedling or seed of that magical plant into the hole, and then covering it back up with its claws.
Over a long span of time, that magical plant would finally grow into a mature magical plant.
Then that Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat would become the Cat King.
It would become a rare Second Circle individual within the species.
Clearly, for a Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat to become a Second Circle creature, one condition was illumination by the Star Leo's starlight, one was accumulation of sufficient bloodline power, and the third was cultivating a Second Circle magical plant.
This Second Circle magical plant was presumably a species that had formed a specific symbiotic relationship with the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat. When it fully matured, the fruit it produced should allow the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat to become a Second Circle creature.
The facts were now quite clear.
Locke thought that as a wizard, he naturally had no need to cultivate whatever specific symbiotic magical plant belonged to the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat species. As a breeder, he had inadvertently used the Moon of Evolution to evolve a First Circle magical plant into a Second Circle magical plant.
In essence, this could be regarded as him, in the role of a Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat, having cultivated a Second Circle magical plant.
And as a wizard, his own soul had already become a Second Circle wizard, already transcending the species' soul limit for the second time. So the bloodline barrier of the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat species had disappeared.
Furthermore, he had long since received the starlight of the Star Leo. So after using the Moon of Evolution to evolve a Second Circle magical plant, he could naturally elevate his own bloodline power to the Second Circle.
And in fact, after the battle with Witch Georgina, when he had raised every bit of his power to its absolute limit to resist the enemy, his bloodline power had involuntarily transformed to the Second Circle level.
So in the eyes of the Natural Plane, the matter had become: a Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat who was a Nature Guardian had, after receiving the starlight of the Star Leo, finally cultivated some kind of companion magical plant currently unknown to him and become the Second Circle Cat King.
But in reality, it was a Second Circle breeding wizard using the Moon of Evolution to complete the evolution of a First Circle magical plant into a Second Circle magical plant.
At this moment, Locke drew a mirror from his star realm ring and looked down into it. He saw a tiger pupil appear on his forehead, with lightning flickering within it.
After the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline evolved to the Second Circle level, all ocular technique power underwent an essential enhancement, and the power of the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline itself also reached 10,000 magic pressure.
Of course, Locke estimated that if his wizard true body's Grand Magic disappeared, this bloodline would immediately fall as well, since the bloodline depended on him being a Second Circle wizard.
Locke thought, "This is also good."
At this moment, within his consciousness sea, the star representing the permanent defensive force field was Jupiter, the power representing the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline was Mars, the star representing the abyssal energy was Saturn, and representing his own will was the sun.
The Grand Magic was located outside the star system.
At this moment, Mars blazed with dazzling starlight, which represented the power of the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline surging rapidly.
This further increased his integration with the Grand Magic.
Because the bloodline power was an enhancement to his own body's strength, it could actually pull the star body symbolizing the Grand Magic outside the star system a little closer toward the star cluster symbolizing his consciousness, strengthening his control over the Grand Magic and further reducing the energy dissipation rate.
So even setting aside what the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline brought to his physical body, the ocular techniques, and the favor of the Natural Plane, the enhancement of this ancient creature bloodline to his Grand Magic alone was already excellent.
This could reduce the dissipation rate of his Grand Magic to some degree.
It was a pity that another symbol of a Second Circle wizard, the Second Circle version of the permanent defensive force field, would require some time to transform into, and at this moment the permanent defensive force fields on the surfaces of both his true body and his Grand Magic were accelerating their merger.
Locke stood before the World Tree, which was the largest tree here, and placed his palm against its trunk. Then a surge of natural power entered his body.
The world will of the Natural Plane descended. 'Three-Eyed, fulfill your duty of guardianship.'
'I will bestow upon you the true power of a Type I Nature Guardian.'
Locke immediately understood one thing: there must always be a Nature Guardian within the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat species, but this was at the Second Circle level.
Because previously he was the only wizard in the world who had obtained the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat bloodline, the Natural Plane, after briefly testing him and determining he had passed, directly granted him the Type I Nature Guardian status of the Three-Eyed Tiger Eye Cat species.
But in truth that had been a lowering of the entry threshold.
Under normal circumstances, one would first become a Second Circle Three-Eyed, and only then could one receive the Type I Nature Guardian status.
But at that time the order had been reversed.
And now, for the first time, he obtained the complete Fierce Beast Panel.
'Regardless of what tier I occupy within the Second Circle, this panel will give me an additional 3,000 magic pressure out of nothing on top of my original foundation. This is the true power of the Fierce Beast Panel.'
Locke was filled with astonishment.
Because for a Second Circle wizard, gaining 3,000 magic pressure was equivalent to gaining one additional Grand Magic Rune out of nothing.
Not to mention that the panel also increased the magic pressure ceiling by 3,000.
That was an enormous enhancement.
At the same time, Locke noticed another thing: his Second Circle climbing fern had also entered this world and was being flooded with natural force from the Natural Plane.
The Natural Plane said, 'Three-Eyed, the companion magical plant of a Type I Nature Guardian will contain a specific world primal force, transforming into a World Primordial Magical Plant. It will represent a specific natural power, representing that you and nature have merged into one in some regard and in some direction.'
'This nature is not the narrow nature of a single plane, but the broad nature of the infinite void.'
'This is the Manifest Destiny that the Natural Plane bestows upon you.'
Locke was startled.
So it was like this.
This meant that the first Second Circle magical plant he evolved after becoming a Second Circle wizard would, because of his Nature Guardian status, inevitably become a World Primordial Magical Plant representing a specific natural power.
Climbing fern, climbing fern, you should be grateful to me.
Wait.
Something occurred to Locke, and he fell into a pensive expression. "Nature Avatar, merging into one..."
