Chapter 207: Battleground Or Porno? Yes.
This one was larger, fully armored, and clearly the premium edition. Its bug head turned, black eyes dragging across the wall, dismissing Tyler, dismissing three other fighters, and snapping onto her like a compass finding north.
It took a step towards her.
"VESSEL."
Guinevere gasped, scrambling away from it.
"Oh, unripe little moonpussy. Spread wide for the seeding—"
"What the actual FUCK!" Tyler’s blade went through its throat before it finished the fucked up statement that she was going to aggressively ignore for the rest of her life.
The body dropped. Tyler kicked it off the rampart without ceremony.
Another portal. Wider. Six came through this time.
Arrows took three mid-air. Three made it to the rampart.
All three ignored the fighters and looked straight at Guinevere.
"THERE. The vessel glows, brothers. I can smell her light from here. Sweet sweet sweet SWEET little breedable—"
"DIBS. I called dibs in the portal. You all heard me call dibs."
"Nobody heard you call dibs—"
"MY SEED FIRST. The prophecy demands the PUREST load—"
"Your load couldn’t purify a puddle, brother. One pump—"
Tyler killed the one making the purity argument. A fighter on the wall took the dibs enthusiast. The third bravely continued forward.
"Vessel, vessel, golden crack. Pin her down, never give her back. Fill the hole, flood the womb, pussy—"
Tyler’s second blade caught it across the jaw. He kicked the last body off the rampart and turned to the wall. Every fighter was staring at him.
"Good news," he called. "We now have confirmation they do communicate by language. Bad news," he paused, wiping his blade. "What in the actual fuck did I just hear come out of that thing’s mouth?"
"What the hell is a vessel?" another asked.
"No idea."
An archer turned to the man next to him. "Was that one rhyming?"
"It was rhyming."
"In twenty years of service I have never, NEVER, heard anything that foul on a battlefield. I’ve fought border wars. Siege campaigns. That shit was worse than all of them combined," a captain said.
Guinevere stood frozen, heart pounding. What the hell was happening? The dark fae in the field hadn’t pulled that shit. The fifty that swarmed Kael weren’t chanting. They’d fought, killed, and died like professionals.
It was at that moment that Kael Ashenvale hit the rampart like a thunderclap ready to cancel the apocalypse.
His gaze landed on Tyler. "Big trouble."
Then he turned his attention to Guinevere and began to close the distance. "Absolutely the fuck not."
She blinked, surprised. He was nearly there when three portals cracked open simultaneously. Apparently the first wave of sexually aggressive hell insects was just the appetizer.
Her hand flew to her mouth as she watched a bigger wave of cum-chanting demons pour through.
Kael stopped mid-step.
"Do not let them touch down inside the walls!" he commanded. "If one does and it lives, they all will be able to portal. The rest follow."
"Yes, Sir," the warriors called in unison.
Noted. The dragon was the new Alpha of Lunaris. That was fine by her. Cassian out. Dragon in.
"Vessel, vessel, sweet and bright. Spread your legs and hold on tight. First one in her seals the rite."
"Soft little vessel. Scared little vessel. Don’t worry, moonpussy."
"I called her first. I scented her light through the portal—"
"My seed goes in before any of you degenerates even—"
Kael was already moving towards her, like the noise didn’t exist. When he reached her, he crouched down so they were eye level. It was at this point that she realized she was on the ground and also probably looked terrified because she was.
"Hey," he said softer just for her ears. "Do you know who I am?"
She swallowed. Opened her mouth.
"VESSEL, ripe and ready, fill her, fertilize her womb—"
"Hang on." Kael stood. Swipe. "How many have landed on this wall?"
"At least five, Sir," Tyler replied.
Kael’s eyes darkened. "Evacuate your keep. Right now."
"The keep is already evacuated, Sir," one of Tyler’s runners called. "It was empty when we retrieved weapons. The princess did that two hours ago."
Every head turned towards her, at which point she realized they were looking for confirmation.
"Utility tunnels. All elders, staff, and children," she confirmed, her voice coming out hoarse.
The dragon’s face did something complicated that she didn’t understand. His back was to her with his blade raised before she could figure it out.
"New plan," he called over his shoulder. "No tower. You stay behind me. Do you understand?"
She heard him but her heart was hammering and she wasn’t fully there.
Something shrieked to her right. Something died there. Same second. Then his hands were on her, hauling her off the ground.
A strange sensation shot through her body. Her breath hitched. She looked down at where he held her.
He released her immediately. "Guinevere. Look at me. Not the sky. Me."
She dragged her gaze from where his hand had been and met his eyes.
"Breathe. You’re okay. I’m right here and nothing gets past me. Nothing. You understand?"
She let out a shaky breath. "Y-yes."
"Good. Stay with me. Nothing is getting near you. I will kill every single one of them before that happens. Do you believe me?"
She nodded. She didn’t know why she believed him. She just did.
Three more landed. Three died. He moved through them like they were nothing because to him they were.
"Brothers, BROTHERS. We share. We take turns. Oldest seed first, then by rank, then by—"
"THERE ARE NO TURNS. THERE IS ONLY FIRST."
Archers fired. Fighters engaged. Bodies dropped.
"First inside her writes the future, brothers. FIRST INSIDE—"
"MOVE. I smelled her first. First scent, first right. THOSE ARE THE RULES."
Her brain was running a calculation she didn’t want to finish. Every single one was making a beeline for her.
Kael’s jaw tightened.
"Get her to the floor below on the wall out of sight from these fucks. I’ll clear these out, and be there in a minute."
"On it, Sir," Tyler replied. He gently grabbed her arm. "Gwen, follow me."
She gave a single nod. Her legs moved on their own, Tyler’s grip the only thing keeping her trajectory straight.
CRACK.
Just before they were at the stairwell, a portal cracked open and a cluster of six launched through in a blur, knocking her to the ground.
She wasn’t sure if Tyler went down too. All she knew was that she slammed into the stone so hard, her lashes lit up like they were on fire, and a Dark Fae was on top of her.
Then she saw fangs. A high-pitched scream escaped her throat.
Twenty feet away, a sound ripped from Kael that made the chanting stop. Every Dark Fae on the wall, in the air, and mid-portal, went silent.
The one on top of her turned its head towards the sound. It was at this moment that she realized she still had her arrows and her brain started to work again.
Without an ounce of hesitation, she drove one through the bastard’s throat and pushed herself to stand.
"GUINEVERE! DROP!" Kael roared.
She didn’t turn in time.
Tyler threw himself between her and an attacker with the full commitment of a man honoring the last order he’d been given.
The Dark Fae’s blade went through his chest. Metal through meat. The kind of sound that stays in your ears for years.
His eyes went wide, and his mouth opened.
"RUN," he choked as blood hit the stone.
"Tyler!"
Its wings unfolded, blade still lodged. Guinevere lunged, arms outstretched.
"NO—"
Too late. The thing launched skyward with Tyler’s limp body.
