Chapter 4, Episode 36 [Front and Back] Part 1

"You or the messenger of Ortomea... you have never seen a face before. Did you say something about Sudo?

Office wrapped in painful silence.

Sitting deep in his chair, Julianus I turns a mixed gaze of pity and mockery at the kneeling middle-aged man in front of him.

That was the best moment ever for the weak who have endured it.

Reversed position.

The margin and superiority of being strong melts Julianus' heart sweetly.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I worship your face and I am delighted."

"So, what the hell is this time for? Also, have you come to our country to recommend surrender?"

A painful irony leaked out of Julianus' mouth.

It was only a few days ago that Fort Notice, a rear supply base in Ortomere, was reported destroyed by the true hands of Ryo Ozawa without skin.

As a result, the Imperial Army of Ortomere, which had been attacking Fort Ushas, had cut off the supply line for food and supplies and isolated itself within Zaluda.

That suggests that nearly 60,000 generals of the Altomere invading army have become bagged rats.

No matter how big the army is, the fact that it was cut off from its own country is heavy.

Regardless of the Commander's class, it was visible that unschooled conscripted peasants and clever mercenaries were upset by the opportunity.

Under such circumstances, there is no way that the Ortomean Empire would send a messenger or anything of a surrender recommendation to Julianus.

Impossible surrender recommendation.

The fact that Julianus himself had spoken of it echoed Sudo's ears, becoming above all a painful irony.

Most importantly, Sudo has read through the motion of Julianus' heart.

I never feel angry about this extent.

Sudo slowly looks up and opens his mouth to the poor clown who sits in front of him.

"There is no such thing. Suggested surrender, etc…"

Sudo shook his face to the side with an absurd look on his face.

"So what did they come to do? I can't believe I'm here to talk about tea and drink. I don't think you can afford that right now."

The pride of hiding at the ends of the word.

To Julianus' words, Sudo unwittingly smiles bitterly.

That's just one win.

But no one knows what this victory means.

Until now, it has always been the side of the Ortomere Empire that has taken the lead.

When and where to attack. Whether or not you can hold that choice largely dictates the trend of battle.

In that sense, now that Fort Notice has fallen, the Union with Ortomere and Zaluda as its heads. He said the offense had been replaced.

Sudo desperately cuts up the laughter that comes in at Julianus' desperate attempt to reveal such an unseen joy.

(Stupid man...... just clown. Even though it is also a victory gained on my own......)

Indeed, there exists an aspect that the kingdom of Zaluda has been lit with a light of hope.

Given the current situation on the Zaluda side, where even the territory continued to be eroded by Ortomere, this backward blockade operation was considered a reincarnation hand.

But that doesn't solve all of the problems we have right now.

While there are problems to solve, there are also piles of problems that make it more difficult to solve.

Above all, it is fatal to say that the Kingdom of Zaluda itself did not unlock the situation.

(Now, will you recognize what says Zaluda's position on being placed?)

It is true that the situation has been reversed and that the Ortomean army is now in a predicament.

But that's only temporary at times.

"It's up to me to end this unfortunate battle today."

Sudo slowly opens his mouth to separate one by one.

It's as if embarrassing a deafening toddler.

"What?

Not knowing the meaning of Sudo's words, Julianus frowned.

"To put it bluntly, my Oltomere wants harmony with the Kingdom of Zaluda"

The moment Sudo uttered the word harmony, the killing raged from Henschel's body standing beside Julianus.

Cold blizzard-like killing slaps Sudo's skin.

(Aren't you stupid enough to expose your anger on this occasion...... sweet)

Even though we were able to gather some information and anticipate it beforehand, both Henschel and Julianus were calmer than we thought.

But if you want to win in diplomacy, it doesn't make sense if you can't hide your heart.

(It's called Julianus, it's called this guy Henschel, not worse than I thought. There's plenty of room for negotiation on this)

Sudden rapprochement negotiations told by the side of the Ortomean Empire that has attacked.

It would be natural for anger to come to the depths of Henschel's heart, a Zaluda person who has been unilaterally attacked and ravaged by the land.

Still, piercing the faceless on the surface is due to Henshal's strong self-control.

Evidence that I understand that being emotional doesn't mean anything.

That implies that there is room for negotiation.

(There's no bargaining, no shit if you're cut off by passion.)

If only we could talk, Sudo was sure of his victory.

"Excuse me, I don't know what your words mean. What the hell does that mean?

"It means as it is. Your Majesty, the Ortomean Empire wants a temporary rapprochement with the Kingdom of Zaluda."

An unwavering light in your eyes.

"Sounds like you're serious..."

Seeing that Sudo's words were not false, Julianus took a deep sigh.

What comes to mind is awkwardness.

While invading other countries, Julianus was frightened through anger by the shameless attitude of conducting rapprochement negotiations even if he saw the situation as unfavourable.

"Do you have any idea how this battle was caused?

"Of course, Your Majesty. Our country has attacked your country."

Sudo answered Julianus' question plainly without evil.

That's an expected word.

There's no way I can negotiate diplomacy with a soft nerve that upsets me to this extent.

Confidence until arrogance is what counts.

"I didn't expect to cut harmony out of the Altomere Empire side while I knew it..."

The unwavering light of strong will in Sudo's eyes.

Something more arose in Julianus' heart.

That's a glimmer of anxiety I felt from Sudo's attitude.

"Shameless..."

I guess I got zero by accident.

A small twinkle echoes in Sudo's ear from Henschel's mouth, which sits next to him.

"Do you really think our country will listen to such stories?

A few months ago, Julianus would have jumped at this story.

But the balance of battle leans heavily toward Zaluda's side.

Julianus did not bother to feel the need to receive harmony at this time.

But Sudo opens his mouth without ever being upset by Julianus' words and without ever stopping grinning.

"Yes, if you understand your country's position, I am sure you will accept it."

"What do you mean?

"There's nothing like this either. As far as I'm concerned, I've come to your country to help you.

Julianus forgets to yell for a moment at Sudo's attitude and words to his arrogance.

I didn't know there were people who behaved so arrogantly before the king of one nation...

Still, Julianus cannot be ordered to cut off a rude man with a gentle grin in front of him.

It was also a hunch to be called the survival instinct of a cowardly fool.

"Is His Majesty not mistaken in the first place? … that you have gained an advantage"

Sudo's lips hoisted and an annoying laugh arose.

That's ridicule.

It's pity for the fool who can't speak for himself.

"Are you telling me you're not? 60,000 Ortomaire troops were cut off from their home countries and no longer bagged rats. Besides, if you think about the fact that supplies tend to lag behind due to the surprise raids in our army, you're starting to see the bottom with the supplies that we have stockpiled in the army."

Julianus felt a little anxiety about Sudo's strong attitude, but tried to remain calm at all costs.

"There's no food, and you can't satisfy yourself with a replacement weapon? So no matter how big an army you are, you're a tiger with a stakeout."

"Sure, that's not true. As His Majesty said, our army will soon wither. But if His Majesty thinks of himself as an advantage when it comes to that, it's nothing but fantasy."

(That's a good point...)

A stream named Negotiation. Sudo felt it plugged into the water point with his skin.

"Master Left. How does His Majesty intend to end this battle in the first place? Do you really think you can destroy my Oltomere?

"What?

Not knowing the meaning of the word, Julianus lurks his eyebrows.

"It means as it is, Your Majesty. There are three ways to end the war. Either defeat and eradicate the enemy before it is completely skinless, lose to the enemy, or negotiate and reconcile in the middle of the battle...... Now, in what way does Your Majesty intend to end this battle?

Win, lose, or draw.

Although there are actually a few more variations in each of them, these three situations are the only ones that are possible, in short.

"It's..."

Julianus jammed his words into Sudo's allegations.

That's because they pointed out my lack of vision.

Recently, Elena and the Zaluda Army, who received reports of the fall of Fort Notis, have inflicted less damage on their enemies by crossing spears with the Ortomean Army, which has begun to pull the army backwards.

The trend in the battle was certainly beginning to lean towards Zaluda's side.

But that is only a limited one: this battle.

Inside Zaluda, independent aristocracy has been assigned, the Kingsguard Knights and the SS Knights under the royal jurisdiction have done little damage, reducing their power of war, and the reinforcements of neighbouring countries, which are the outline of the request, will never admit anything like an invasion of Ortomere.

Under these circumstances, there was no way we could have conducted a counter-invasion operation into Ortomere.

We cannot destroy a giant beast called the Altomere Empire if we are not directed at our soldiers inside the Altomere.

In that case, there are two remaining conclusions.

Continue the barren and winless battle until the day Zaluda perishes, or cut off and bring in harmonious negotiations in a few places.

In that sense, it is a great step forward to say that the Messenger of the Armistice has visited this occasion, which has only ever been visited by the Messenger of the Surrender Recommendation.

"Let me ask you again where you understand your position, Your Majesty. Can you keep fighting without a chance?

That is the temptation of the devil.

To Sudo's words with a gentle grin, Julianus had no more skill than to snort silently.

On that day, enthusiasm was covering up Peripheria, the capital of the Kingdom of Zaluda.

No, this is nothing just about Peripheria. There will be sights everywhere in the kingdom of Zaluda.

The dark clouds that covered this king's capital until the other day will be clear proof.

On both sides of the boulevard that runs through the center of the Wang Capital, there are surprised people standing side by side.

Without distinction between the young and old, they even swept their hands toward the soldiers marching in front of them, both toddlers drawn by their mothers and old men with their canes, cheering them with mouths.

"Hooray! Long live the Kingdom of Zaluda!

"God bless His Majesty! Glory to our country!

People stand on the boulevard with a full grin and mouth the words of victory.

The other day, the battle against the Ortomean Empire, which lasted more than a year, ended in the form of harmony.

That means that the various taxes that have been imposed so far as special wartime provisions will be undone and the conscripted husbands and sons will return.

Bring them hope that they can return to their former peaceful lives.

But there were people unrelated to the atmosphere of the castle city boiling with such cheer.

One is the king of this country and the man who made this decision.

He had now lowered his back deeply into the bench installed in his own office and looked up to heaven.

"You think that's the right decision?

A deep, sinking voice.

It's proof that I'm not confident in my own decision.

"I don't know..."

Under Julianus' squeaky gaze, Henschel slowly shook his neck to the side.

"I've earned the time for now... that's all true"

"Time…?"

The Imperial Army of Ortomea is beginning to evacuate outside Zaluda.

It is possible, albeit temporarily, to earn a few years depending on future negotiations.

It would also be possible to twist out the time needed to rebuild the depleted Knights.

"Don't waste your limited time..."

Henschel nodded deeply at Julianus' words.
