Chapter 4 Final Story [Back Table] Part 3

The country existed in the southwest of the western continent.

An urban state developed around a temple based on majestic marble.

While the southern kingdoms and the Kirtantia, the corner of the three mighty nations, are on the snubbing border, the country has survived for many years while maintaining its independence.

No matter how the borders of the neighbouring countries change, there is no impact on this land.

Even the Ortomean Empire, a central champion, is unwilling to lay a hand on the land, although it has defeated the southern tip of the harbour city craving.

Just a giant beast who keeps sleeping quietly. But once you wake up from your sleep, the fangs of the beast will cleave off all the continent with ease.

The name of the city is Menestia, the Holy City.

It is the castle of God dedicated to the light god Meneos and the home of the Order of the Light God, which stretches its roots throughout the Western continent.

But when I say temple, it is not an absolutely inviolable sanctuary.

In a world of war, authority and abstract divine power alone cannot defend themselves so much as a denomination.

White Asian castle protected by deep moats and high walls. And above all, the eyes of the guards who are in charge of guarding the land are sharp and steep.

Wearing thick iron armor, the tip of the axe spear in his hand emitted a sharp light.

And the light that dwells in their eyes patrolling all over the town, which extends radially around the temple, is filled with ragged desire.

Human beings unrelated to the mercy and mercy that those who serve God are supposed to have.

And the soldiers are not the only ones to dwell such a light.

They're like a bunch of hungry wolves.

It's a bunch of fools who mistakenly assumed that they had God's blessing and that God would forgive them for everything they did.

They cry out the name of God as a tool to satisfy their own desires.

And deep inside the city's center, the most noble man in the city sat back relaxed in a lavish chair similar to the throne and listened to reports from his men with pleasure as he wrapped the glass in his hand.

This luxurious coat features a white tone and gold thread. The gloss that the coat emits is silk.

It is a true representation of a man's status, along with a tiny cane of jewels erected beside him.

"Ho, you think Ortomere pulled more soldiers than Zaluda?

"Yes, Your Holiness... Moore, who was the head of the defense force, was taken over after the destruction of Fort Notice."

"Any damage to the soldiers?

"According to the tip-off, the siege was spared because the Altomere side brought it into the ceasefire negotiations as soon as it was blocked from the rear. But still, it was raided by an army led by two men, Elena Steiner and Ecclesia Marinelle, who said that roughly 10,000 damage had been done."

The man holds his lips up and laughs at the words of an old man kneeling in front of him.

The laugh is truly the devil's mockery.

Most humans would shake their bodies with fear just because they saw the look on their faces.

But seeing the Lord's malevolent grin did not move the old man one eyebrow like Nobu did.

"I see... 10,000. Given the power of Ortomere, I can't say it's fatal..."

"We've lost Fort Notice and we've been ashamed of all the supplies we've been storing."

"Well, you'd be right to pull an army... both countries"

"Yes."

"The king of Zaluda looks like a man."

"It was rumored to be a foolish king, but why not?"

To the old man's words, the man nodded contentedly.

Because that is proof that an old man kneeling in front of you is a man who can use it.

A truce based on the destruction of the siege of the Ortomean army. Besides, he has returned the Ortomean army out of the country unharmed before negotiating.

If you look only at that part, Julianus can only be truly the King of Fools.

On the surface, it was only natural if Ortomere unilaterally trampled the land and sent the enemy home with nothing to gain.

Ordinary people would ask the Altomere side for compensation to make up for the damage at all.

But there's a pit there. It's a trap set by the Ortomere side.

When comparing the national power differences between Zaluda and Ortomere in the first place, many people are unaware that the negotiations are pointless.

There is no point in just making any promises. For the first time, there are penalties for breaching a promise.

The easiest thing to understand would be the law.

The law makes sense for the first time with the physical power of police power.

A being who searches for and punishes people who break the law. For the first time with it, people try to keep the law.

It doesn't make sense if only the law exists.

And that's the same thing as negotiating.

It is true that the negotiations assume that both parties will abide by their commitments.

But what if there was an overwhelming difference between the two positions?

Parent-child relationships, teachers and students, presidents and new hires. And big and weak countries.

Each one has a different scale, but nothing of the essence changes.

In this case, the national power of Ortomere and Zaluda is adults and children.

Assuming that some sort of negotiation has been concluded between Ortomere and Zaluda, whether Zaluda has the power to just fulfill it and let Ortomere fulfill it.

It is not that promises are not made between the strong and the weak.

There is plenty of room for negotiation if there is to be a Zaluda for Oltomere.

But not in this case.

If you try Oltomere, you don't have to worry about Zaluda's complexion.

The man sitting on the throne advances his thoughts as he slowly turns the glass in his hand.

(You can't do it first. And Julianus noticed that. I don't care what kind of negotiation you make. When you end up being trampled with force)

It is a completely different question of whether or not it will actually be paid, assuming that we can take a long time and get a lot of compensation from Ortomere.

Many people don't realize that.

Because I innocently believe that the promises exchanged are bound to be kept and kept.

"Before we start the negotiations, let us pull the armies of Ortomere from the country anyway...? Well, that's not a bad decision."

"Yes, it would take a long time to restructure the armament even with the Ortomean army sitting inside Zaluda all the way through the negotiations, and it would also be a clear appeal to have the Ortomean army pulled against the country"

"You think there might be a man among the nobles who feels hope and helps?

"At least I was wondering if it was more likely than Ortomere's presence in the country"

Regardless, it is unclear how effective it would be under the circumstances in which there are many aristocrats on the Ortomean side.

But the fact that in any way you let the Altomere Imperial Army pull off should be one of the weapons that will persuade the nobles as one solid achievement.

It's a little bit of a glimmer of hope for Zaluda.

"Yes, if you keep fighting, Zaluda's defeat will be spared. Even if the siege extermination measures succeed, there is no reason for Ortomere to remain silent. Besides, that measure could have taken out Chardina, the general."

"Um, I guess it's supposed to be a welcome development"

If you take the head of the enemy army, the battle will end if it were meant to be.

But in this case, that only speeds up the next battle.

"You can never call it a good measure if you think about it in Zaluda's shoes. Of course, even with your hands still hanging around, the results are the same, so it would be a siege because you don't have a choice..."

"If my beloved daughter and one of the royal families were to be defeated, the emperor would abandon the domestic situation and give top priority to the Zaluda attack."

"Yes, perhaps a second formation should have been formed without standing for months. But then you won't be ready for Zaluda's side in time. It's possible that he was thinking of measures to combat it, but he thought there was a better chance of winning eventually than he was forced to stick to it than the Oltomere side had applied for a truce."

"I chose to buy time for the final victory, regardless of the immediate victory...... um, that's not bad"

"Yes, it's not bad. Just..."

"The more desperate the king of Zaluda tries to survive, the longer this battle will be. And is that what they're looking for?"

"Yes, prices across the Western continent have continued to soar without ceiling since this battle began, and even as far as the handlers have looked into it, a breathtaking number of their chambers of commerce have been profitable. Perhaps this truce has also moved behind their hands..."

"You're like a bald eagle with rotten meat."

A painful sarcasm pops out of the mouth of a man with a slight grin.

But it was certainly a good word for a man who used the battle as food for his own gain.

"I thought you were right under the Holy See"

No way I'm sending out a messenger to Zaluda not to fight any more, and it doesn't make sense where I put it out.

The survival of the kingdom of Zaluda is not so important to both of us, because if we make it Julianus, king of the kingdom of Zaluda, the survival of our own country is our top priority.

After a long silence dominates the hall, the man opens his mouth more or less.

"Is there any way?

Yes, sir.

"Ho."

"Have you ever heard the name Christoph Chamber of Commerce, based in the fortified city of Ipilos?

In the words of the old man, the man shakes his neck beside him silently.

There can be no such thing as the name of a small chamber of commerce present in a region in the ear of a pope that houses the Congregation of the Light God.

"What happened to that Christopher Chamber of Commerce and the others?

"We're using the same methods they used to make huge profits in this battle."

I heard the old man's words and the man's eyebrows moved pickly.

"Are you one of them?

"I don't know about that as it stands, but there are aristocrats who seem to be working hand in hand with that chamber of commerce"

That much, the man could understand to take hold of what the old man was thinking.

"I see, I shake that nobleman and see how he reacts..."

"Yes, if you're one of them, you can monitor the trends, in case you're not one of them"

"Will it be a good pawn"

"Yes."

"That's good. That's good. So let's just say we go."

The man claps his hands and laughs.

Only a man's crazy laugh echoed between the thrones.
