Chapter 165 - 113: Seeing Luo Qingyi Again
"You’re like a lingering ghost!"
"You’re the one who’s a lingering ghost! No... on second thought, it’d be better if you just scattered."
As he spoke, his saber left its sheath with a CLANG. He leaped up, and in the blink of an eye, his mid-air slash was upon his opponent.
The young man’s expression changed. It was already too late to dodge.
He immediately crossed his arms before him, and a DING rang out.
Li Tianxin’s saber came down, striking squarely on his crossed arms.
Once again, it was blocked by something unknown. The blade simply couldn’t cut through.
However, the Inner Strength infused in the blade forced the young man to his knees with a THUD.
The resulting shockwave from the blade first shattered the surrounding tables and chairs.
The handful of subordinates around him were also forced back.
Blood trickled from the corner of the young man’s mouth. He had been injured in the very first exchange.
He roared furiously:
"Together! Kill him!"
The moment he spoke, several men leaped into the air, attempting to ambush Li Tianxin from behind.
A cold smile touched Li Tianxin’s lips. Just as he was about to move, he suddenly heard a thunderous shout:
"Despicable cur!"
Following the shout, a figure shot up. As he flew through the air, he clenched a fist. With a WHOOSH of wind, he threw a heavy punch.
One of the men trying to ambush Li Tianxin took the full brunt of the attack.
He was sent flying sideways, crashing violently into the corner of a counter. By the time he hit the ground, he was barely breathing.
Seeing this, the young man’s other subordinates were enraged.
"Mind your own business!"
Several of them immediately flew out to deal with this interloper.
They hadn’t expected, however, that this man’s fighting style was so incredibly fierce and direct.
He met force with force, ignoring the weapons striking his body and felling one man with each punch. In just a few moments, the young man’s subordinates were all lying on the floor.
Just then, a saber came flipping through the air and struck the man on the back.
But with a RIIIP, the blade only slid across his back, tearing a gash in his clothes without causing the slightest injury.
Beneath his outer robes, he wore a suit of treasure armor, impervious to blades and spears.
Li Tianxin glanced back.
"You?"
"Luo Qingyi?"
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow as well.
Ye Jingshuang also recognized the man. Back when Jiang Ran had taken her to Cangzhou Prefecture, they had been outside a teahouse where Cheng Jimo, disguised as a lady, was luring out experts from Feiyun Stronghold.
At the time, this man had been hiding in a tree, but Cheng Jimo had seen through his cover, and a fight had broken out.
Ye Jingshuang herself had even joined forces with him to fight Ghost Seven.
’But... so his surname is Luo?’
’Has Jiang Ran met him again since then?’
She suddenly remembered that Jiang Ran had even poisoned him before...
As these thoughts ran through her mind, she heard Luo Qingyi laugh.
"Brother Li, it’s been a few days. I trust you’ve been well?"
Li Tianxin nodded, his face cold, and glanced at Zhang Zhihua.
"Not particularly..."
As he said this, he spun his saber, and waves of blade energy suddenly surged forth.
The young man under his blade was already struggling to hold on.
Now, struck by this wave of energy, he could no longer parry and was sent flying by the attack.
Several new gashes from the blade energy now marked his body.
’These two men’s martial arts are far superior to ours,’ he thought. ’If we truly clash head-on today, my chances of survival are slim to none.’
As he looked down, his eyes happened to fall upon a rope.
He immediately reached out, grabbed it, and yanked. Zhang Zhihua had been about to run to Li Tianxin.
Instead, she felt a powerful force pull her, and she fell helplessly into the young man’s grasp, his hand closing around her throat.
She was instantly immobilized.
"Stop!" the young man shouted.
Luo Qingyi turned to look, his brow tightening.
Li Tianxin pointed the tip of his saber toward the ground and stared coldly at the young man.
"Let her go. Otherwise, you won’t be leaving here in one piece."
"Hahaha."
The young man laughed maniacally, the blood on his lips adding to his savage expression.
"If I let her go today, I’m the one who’ll be left in pieces.
"If you’re not afraid, then come on. Death is death. At least I’ll have a delicate beauty like her to accompany me on the road.
"I won’t be lonely on the Yellow Springs Road! Who knows, by the time we get to the Bridge of Helplessness, we might even be a family of three!"
"Bah!"
Zhang Zhihua was furious. "Don’t you dare spout such nonsense."
Hearing this, the young man just smiled.
"You don’t believe me? If things continue like this tonight, I won’t get to see my Young Master anyway. With you in my hands, they’re afraid to act. So how about I take my time defiling you right in front of them? That would make all this trouble worthwhile.
"Afterward, even though I’ll surely be executed when I see the Young Master again... I’m going to die anyway, so why should I care? Right?"
As he spoke, he reached out with his other hand, about to touch Zhang Zhihua’s stomach.
Luo Qingyi’s face darkened.
"How dare you!"
Li Tianxin, however, just watched coldly, the light from his saber pulsing unceasingly in his grip.
He stared intently at the young man’s arm, as if he would sever it in the next instant.
However, just then, the expressions on both Li Tianxin’s and Luo Qingyi’s faces changed simultaneously.
They went from fury and coldness to utter shock.
The young man’s actions were all a ploy to find a way to escape.
So, naturally, he was paying close attention to the changes in Li Tianxin’s and Luo Qingyi’s expressions.
Seeing their expressions change so drastically, he froze for a moment. Following their gazes, he realized they were both staring at something behind him.
He couldn’t help but be taken aback.
"That look in your eyes... are you trying to tell me there’s someone behind me?
"We’re not exactly fresh-faced novices in the martial world. Isn’t that trick a little... clumsy?"
