Yomigaeri no Maou

Lesson 3: What's going on in the village and visitors

The memories of the Demon King era returned to Lulu, seven years after he began his baby life.

I can tell you that Lulu's life has changed dramatically since he survived days when he couldn't move at all and was able to walk around the ground on his own feet.

Anyway, all I could see as a baby was the ceiling and the bed, except for the acquaintances of my parents, servants, and parents who come to it occasionally.

He didn't seem to think it would be good for Lulu's body to keep him out for too long, even if he took him somewhere, and he was immediately pulled into the room, and he couldn't take much time to observe something or anything like that.

Compared to that, what about now?

You can walk around whatever you want, whatever you want, and you can go wherever you want.

Walking, that's really great, Lulu thought once again over the baby's period.

There are many things that I have learned when I am able to go outside, but the first place where Lulu lives is a large mansion there in a village in the region.

Lulu's father, though a junior nobleman, unlike regular villagers, seemed to have considerable assets and his first life was richer than that of the other villagers living in the village.

That said, compared to the way Lulu lived when he was the Demon King, it was only a slight difference, at best, living in a slightly larger house, with a lot of food, only to a certain extent.

So, fortunately, I'm not saying that the relationship between the villagers and Lulu's family was bad and not respected at all, but the majority of people who behaved amicably seemed to make life easier for both my mother and father.

As far as Lulu himself is concerned, the villagers have been gentle with me, so I do not feel particularly deprived in my life in the village.

If you dare to say it, it was only a little uncomfortable that people (human) were all, friendly, but it felt that way because it compares to how people (human) responded when they were demons, and that's more natural than being human (human) right now.

I wasn't used to it at first, but as I repeated the same thing for a few years, it became a natural landscape.

Even if your mind is Demonic, you can live with people (human beings) so friendly and without problems.

I didn't feel anything like regret that it wasn't impossible to create this kind of sight in my previous life, but I tried not to get too serious by telling myself it was too much.

It's over, you can't help regretting it.

Villages, even though they are borders, have streets passing through them, and using carriages and the like for getting to and from other villages and cities is not so disabling.

Since Lulu is old, he cannot go personally to leave the village and go to another village, but he went as far as the neighboring town.

Compared to the neighboring towns and villages, I still find the villages to be more culturally lagging behind, or less literary, but it didn't seem to be so much of a difference, nor did it seem that they were extremely poor villages.

In that way, the conclusion reached after various factual observations and considerations is to say that this village is a good one for the price.

Peace, the villagers are gentle enough not to starve.

It was an idyllic and good village to the extent that I didn't think it was a bad idea to continue this kind of life until I died.

But as a lulu, I didn't mean to.

For what, have you continued your training to this day?

It's to get out of the village, to go around the world, to travel.

It was Lulu who decided to live as he pleases, but it also included going wherever he pleases, that is, traveling.

Lulu wanted to see the world.

I wanted to see with my own eyes how the world was walking after a long feud between the Demons and the People (human beings).

To gain previous knowledge for this, Lulu asked his parents about this world as he grew up, far away.

Lulu is the rebirth of the Demon King.

In other words, not much time should have passed since the end of the war between demons and people (human beings).

I have no objection to that.

But the question was how many months have passed since then?

For a year or two, it doesn't matter.

To that extent, no matter how persecuted the demons are, there are compatriots who can survive.

If you go around the world, you'll see someone you once knew.

However, it was once said that the measure of reincarnation is not so small.

A decade or a hundred years is just the same month as a walk on a journey to the soul.

So.

It wasn't strange that ever since Lulu perished as the Demon King, a considerable number of months had passed.

I asked my parents for confirmation.

I wonder when the hell it is now, and how much of the moon has flown since the rally of war with the Demons.

As a result, it was understood that from that day on, from the time the Demon King perished, thousands of years had already passed, and that the dispute between the Demons and the people (human beings) was almost like legends and myths, the details of which were no longer known.

I also asked if the Demons were still there, but I was not sure of the response.

There is a being called the Demon Nation, but it is different from the Demon Nation as mythologically put it, and the Demon Nation that once fought with people (human beings) is now called the Ancient Demon Nation and is said to have left this world.

If we were to interpret this in line with reality, it would mean that the demonic tribe that was defeated by man (human), all of which was uprooted by man (human) and vanished from this world as a race.

But I didn't want to believe that, and I couldn't believe it.

How is it realistically possible for people (human beings) to overwhelm the Demons, destroy one and only, etc.

No, it won't be possible, it was Lulu's conclusion.

It would not be possible to say that in that thought there was no desire to believe so.

However, the Demons have a long life span, and their vitality far outweighs people.

It was natural to assume that it was impossible to do anything on a boulder to make it disappear without one person left.

Hearing this fact, Lulu had one, a goal.

Demons, let's look for the survivors of the ancient demons in their current language.

I'm sure the numbers are small.

But it shouldn't mean there's not one.

Believe that, go around the world and find it.

There is also the question of what to do after that, but for now, I really wanted to confirm the fact that the lifeblood of my former compatriots is still preserved.

Because I think that is the responsibility of those who once led the Demons.

To this end, Lulu's magic manipulation techniques, which he has worked out over the past few years, have reached considerable levels of sophistication.

Of course, it should be said that compared to the Demon King era, it is nothing more than a poor, big mess, but it is a big difference compared to right after birth that I made it so.

At least, it can now be activated without problems for basic life magic, and to some extent for attack magic.

When it comes to mass extermination magic, it is unknown whether it can be used because there is no place where it can be practiced and I have never activated it since I became this body, but I felt the feeling that it would never be usable.

The magic that was so hard to get through is now pretty much getting through to the body.

Not as brave as he was when he fought the Demon King, but he has reached a level where he can be used in combat.

It was thought that at least we wouldn't lose as much as some low-level demon.

If we go at this rate, the day we can leave the village will not be so far away.

To be honest, I feel like I could manage to some extent even if I just left, but there would be no place for a seven-year-old to work even if he left the village.

For once, I have eyes on how I make money after I leave the village, but it will be difficult without any back shield.

This means that Lulu will have to stay in this village for a few more years, even though the days of travel are not far away.

However, life in the village isn't bad, so it's still not bad.

Until now, I have behaved as a normal child, so I have been able to have a few human (human) friends in the village as well.

Today, I had just promised to play with that friend, and now I was walking to a meeting place for that.

It's a little late to leave the house, but it's a margin of error.

After a while, I reached the place and saw three boys and girls waving from there towards Lulu.

"Lulu! You're finally here! It's too late!"

One was Rusty, a boy with a vibrant looking red hair.

At the same age as Lulu, that's one of the longest-running childhood friends in this village I've known since I was born and have been with this far.

There is now a slightly grumpy distortion of the thin and scattered face.

I guess I'm flattered that Lulu has been delayed.

Lulu apologizes honestly and strives to stifle that anger.

"No, I'm sorry. If I'd read the book, I'd be totally out of time."

Lulu's house seems to be an aristocratic house, albeit inferior, with some collection of books.

My father spends part of his salary on books because books are expensive, not something he can buy inside, but still have the necessary upbringing.

Lulu had his parents teach him the letters so he could read.

So, I was given permission to read a collection of books I have at home whenever I want.

"What's a book... is that fun to read? I knew you'd be an adventure if you were a man! Let's go to the woods, to the woods!

Rusty was in a good mood as soon as Lulu apologized and said that.

He has a dream of leaving the village and becoming an adventurer in the future.

A profession that did not exist in the days when Lulu was demon king, but in this day and age, adventurers, there was a special profession that was said to have emerged.

When asked why such a thing was needed, Lulu was surprised to learn that, unlike in Lulu's time, modern times had seen a significant increase in areas where maps were inaccurate or unexplored.

In the past, even where people were entering, there were many areas that no one now knew about, and the profession of adventurer was created in order to explore such places.

"Adventure is adventure, Rusty. You still haven't passed Mr. Patrick for swordsmanship. When the hell is Rusty going to leave the village?

That said, it was one of Rusty's childhood friends who made the promise today, Mi, a cute girl characterized by dull blonde hair and a bright look.

He's the same seven years old as Lulu and Rusty, but the way he sees it maybe because he's a girl is more realistic than Rusty.

That said, I still can't deny being a little childish.

From her words, I felt fear that Rusty would leave the village.

It's more obvious than seeing fire that you have a love affair for Rusty in your eyes, which is why I guess you want Rusty to stay in the village all the time.

I know how that feels.

However, the word was rather counterproductive.

Rusty is thinking of learning swordsmanship from Lulu's father, Patrick, and leaving the village by that arm, but Patrick wasn't sweet.

Patrick gave Rusty a few conditions for leaving the village.

It's about gaining some skill and being able to hunt low-level demons who live in village forests on a regular basis by their arms.

That is a medium tough challenge for Rusty, an ordinary villager who is not particularly talented, and for that reason Rusty seriously repeats his training every day.

Nonetheless, Patrick rarely praises people, so I guess Rusty is starting to rush.

Sometimes I was foolish that I couldn't get a pass forever.

Rusty pointed it out there.

A slightly more sinister atmosphere will flow,

"Well, well, okay? Dreaming is important. I don't think you'll ever get passed, and then you just have to think about it again."

It was Yuri, the last one I promised today, a girl two years older than Lulu, who flaunted Mi and Rusty that way.

Grey smooth hair is beautiful, eyes pale, a girl with medium beauty.

Makes me imagine that she'll be quite a beautiful woman in ten years, but she's also in love with Rusty again.

I wonder why Rusty has so much, but there's an atmosphere in Rusty that I can't let go of somehow.

I guess that kind of thing distracts these two girls.

Lulu used to hang out with these threesomes in the village.

"I hope that day comes... rather than that, didn't we meet here today because something happened? I haven't heard why yet."

That's right.

Rusty told Lulu yesterday to meet here tomorrow, but he didn't tell me why by saying it was "fun after tomorrow".

Just to play, I knew that that didn't seem like a reason because Rusty seemed to have a lot of fun in promising about today, but I didn't realize why.

After all, he didn't tell me when he asked, and Lulu couldn't know why he needed to get together here, but Rusty laughed and said to the question Lulu asked again.

"Oh... Actually, my father at the inn said that an adventurer is coming to this village today. It's real!

To the words, Lulu, Mi and Yuri open their eyes.

Adventurers are inherently specialized in exploring untouched areas and ruins.

They also seem to work as escorts for the merchants, travellers and chores, but they rarely ask so many country villages.

But it wasn't so much that he didn't ask me anything, but that low-level adventurers sometimes came with pedestrian escorts.

It's just that Rusty is not like that kind of adventurer.

He said "real".

These are words referring to those of the adventurers who have activities that can truly be described as adventures, which are at the top of the list.

Of course, it's not that lower adventurers are fake, but they often say that in the sense that entities differ little to say "adventurers".

Hearing that, Lulu understood why Rusty was a little excited.

He's exactly the boy who's looking to be a real adventurer.

That equals a hero coming to the village.

So we got together on purpose.

I guess you have the soul nerve to welcome the adventurers who will be coming at the entrance to the village and listen to all the stories.

"If that's true, isn't it dangerous to get too close? Adventurers say there are a lot of rough guys."

I'll give you a heads-up.

The real adventurer, whoever he says, is strong.

For this reason, it was a story that few of them had a slightly unattended character and did not have to go into violent action.

Of course, if they go too far, they will be penalized by the union for being only unionists belonging to an organization called the Adventurers' Union (Guild), which will deprive them of their authority as adventurers and make their activities impossible.

So, there are limitations, but they tend to be missed if they treat approached children somewhat badly enough.

That's why it was a caution.

He said, "It's okay! Adventurers are strong and noble! I don't believe in violence!

That's what Rusty says and doesn't work with.

Mi and Yuri look a little anxious, but Rusty says that's not in his eyes.

Well, this must be what a dream boy is, and Lulu sighs.

Look at Rusty like that, and if anything happens, I give up if I can help.

It is unknown to what extent my powers work, but I would be able to prevent them if they were about a modest attack on a child.

That's how he followed Rusty running out with two girls at the entrance to the village.
