Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 38: Preliminary Round I

The next day, that is, the day of the first round of the martial arts tournament, a few of the people I knew were at Lulu's house for breakfast.

The acquaintance is three Gaya boys, and three Rusty boys.

There are also other Kyou and Fuuka that live in, a large area of ten people in total.

Naturally, we can't have everyone on the table we normally use, so it looks like we're pulling another table out of the house storage and forcing them to create a 10-person long table.

By the way, the Gaya boys, and Rusty, each came separately, but it would have been rather inevitable given the time to start the game.

Rusty and the others were here first, so at the same time confirming it was amazingly solidified, however respectful, they are seniors belonging to the same family (clan).

The surprise soon unraveled, and then mainly Gaya and Rusty started demanding breakfast from Illis.

To see the other facial expressions, they came here with the intention of eating them, and it was clear that they hadn't eaten them yet.

Lulu was born to leave it to the servant about the meal this way, and since Illis woke up from the ruins, he couldn't make a decent dish or anything else because he had relied on Illis.

This is why, inevitably, Illis will make it, but it is this number.

Lulu gets worried about Iris,

"Hey, you okay? If you can't, you can say no..."

I said.

But Iris says he has no problem, shakes his head, and disappears straight into the kitchen.

Then came out a meal for a number of people soon, and Lulu was surprised at the hands-on quality of it, but if we listened in detail, he'd been promising to take a meal with us in the morning of the first round for a long time.

I didn't tell Lulu because I wanted to surprise him a little.

In fact, Lulu was surprised that Gaya and Rusty and the others came, but he was more than happy, so there's nothing particularly wrong with that.

Besides, once again, it was interesting to hear what the Gayas think of Rusty, what's going on with the Rustys, etc.

Together, Kyou tells us all sorts of stories about distant lands he's traveled to so far, so everyone was intrigued and asked.

The most accustomed to traveling in this is, in fact, Kyou, who has the most missing personality, and it seems somewhat hilarious that she talks about such things as how she feels about traveling.

However, still, what I'm saying is largely correct and informative, and it's been a good time for me to think about the various things I'm going to have to do as an adventurer.

In that way, after a while of bickering, the topic naturally moves on to the first round of the Fighting Games.

"It's okay that this badge is a kind of sensor, right?

Asking Rusty as Lulu looks up with a badge given to him by the receptionist in the arena, he nods and answers.

"Oh, it's a kind of magic trick. The body of the person you're wearing looks slightly radiant. So you can't mistake the contestants for those who don't."

Sure, I can see the body of everyone here shining slightly.

Slight red to edge the body.

You can't possibly see this wrong.

"We talked about collecting five badges... what's that?

Mi will answer this question.

They weren't able to make it to last year's martial arts tournament, but they are familiar with it as if they had been explained in detail to those people.

Lulu had also been briefed by the arena receptionist, but the implications I am hearing for confirmation are also strong.

Because the Gayas may remember it halfway through, there was no consideration.

"Five, to be exact, by sundown, right? That means if you have all five badges, including your share, as of sundown, you win with it. If we had collected more than five by then, it wouldn't make sense if they took them away. On the other hand, if your badge goes to zero, if you take it back to five by sundown, that's fine... once you activate the marking magic, you'll have about a day."

Since the receptionist instructed me to keep the badge on as of morning, did it start at a certain time?

I guess it means that even if you remove it from there, the effect will remain persistent.

That's why you can't run away and hide because you're not a contestant.

It's hard to imagine anyone doing that on purpose in a situation where they have to collect five badges, but after collecting them, it would make sense to hide.

Maybe it's a thought system about the area.

And the last thing Yuri said.

"That's the general rule. And then, don't break the city, I guess. It's usually not a problem because of the tension, but you have to worry about powerful magicians (...) or something."

That's what I said and stared at Lulu and Iris with meaningful eyes.

They both nod with strange faces.

Apparently, the Gayas didn't notice such silent interaction between Yuri and the Lulu, laughing.

"Haha, that's none of our business, Senior Yuri"

"That's right ~... nothing wrong"

That's what Yuyu said following Gaya Boy.

Those were the three Rustys staring at those two with a subtle face, but they looked like they were on the thickness of the skin on the faces of Lulu and Iris, who kept eating meals with a face like nothing, and then they gave up and seemed to decide to move on to another story.

"If you say that, you're gonna get Kyou, too, right?

Rusty asks Kyou, who is eating rice.

Looking at such a slight appearance, it doesn't look like a martial arts tournament contestant from anywhere, but it's an unmistakable fact, since they actually did register to appear at some point and have a solid badge attached to their clothes as well.

Kyou swallows what was in his mouth, then sips a drink before answering.

"Yes! I'm leaving ~! I look like this, because I'm pretty strong!

Mmm, it's not very reliable to say how cute it is to wave up your fist and answer that, but I can't criticize it.

However, still, everyone here knew that she was of some strength.

Because even though it hasn't been so long since I've been in Wang Du, I can hear some of her martial arts traditions in the tavern.

Compared to that, Lulu and Iris are the two of us who can say that their strength and rating are the opposite, and they are making a firm and persistent request, but they remain underrated because they refrain from doing anything particularly fancy.

It is also obvious that it will change dramatically with the Martial Arts Games, but it is not interesting to expose it now, and I promise to keep it to myself.

So those who know were the two who came discreetly to this day, without anyone speaking.

Besides, there are two verses that think that it doesn't matter if they are rated higher or lower.

There was nothing wrong with that story.

That way, the peaceful meal is over, and we all start to arm ourselves.

I'm not even saying that what you're wearing is poor minister, but it's quite what a rush wears.

I have a good feeling about it, so I can tell you I don't have a choice.

Naturally the longest-earning Rustys will be the most luxurious, but still not a great deal of gear.

The usual witch clothing that leads to Kyou says it's not a problem at all, although it makes me want to ask if it's okay with the chest patch and bow.

I don't know if you intend to avoid all of your opponent's attacks, or if there are any other ways, but Lulu didn't pay particular attention because you felt firm confidence in that face and seemed to have no problems as declared.

After the arming was over, everyone headed to the front door with a tight look.

In front of the door, stop just a little bit.

Outside the house, they are all enemies.

I can't help but fight right away.

Because that's what I think.

But there is no real danger of it.

Anyway, the Rusty's people, who know that the choice equates to suicide, suggested the rule that residents in this setting should have no fighting if they met all over the city, especially because they had no reason to say no.

All accepted that if we could, all of us, we should have met in the main election, or something.

Every year, it would be pretty harsh because most of the only people in the main race were more powerful than senior, but it can't even be said to be impossible depending on the way they fought and the combination.

Aim to win when you leave.

That was the thought of everyone here.

"Well, let's do our best"

On Lulu's way to the city, looking back and saying so, everyone nods and jumps out towards each battlefield.

Gone first were Rusty and the Gayas.

Rusty's, plus the Gayas seem to have a policy of getting over qualifying at the party.

That's not forbidden, so there's no problem.

However, Lulu, Iris and Kyou are each going to challenge each one entirely individually, running to separate compartments in the Wang capital.

That speed is about the same for all three, and if the beholder saw it, he would have been surprised at the high strength of it.

But there was not a single one watching it.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

"Uri ah!!!

A light-handed sword is swung down.

The owner of that weapon was a boy of the same age as Lulu.

While slightly deflecting his body as he reads the orbit of the sword, he looks familiar to that face in his eyes and finds himself an adventurer boy.

Its strength is far lower than that of Rusty, and still lower than that of Gaya, such.

In other words, he was as good as rushing out, and he was still a boy to come.

So it's extremely easy for Lulu to beat him up, which is nothing but a weak bully given the difference in strength...

"That's the kind of tournament. Give it up."

Boosh, and so groaned, Lulu pulls out the sword he lowers to his hips, and pushes his patterned head into the boy's belly to prune his consciousness with one blow.

The boy sank and fell on the spot without being able to confirm what had happened.

Lulu removes his badge from the fallen boy's chest and sticks it in his pocket.

Because there's a rule that you have to keep your own badge on your chest, but you don't have to.

Now there are two badges in Lulu's possession.

You can collect all five, which means you can take three more.

So Lulu tried to run out for his next prey.

But I guess he was aiming for alarm at the moment he took the badge.

Feeling signs of sorcery activation in the distance, Lulu flies away from the spot.

Then, where Lulu had stood before, a bullet of fire jumped in and made a scorch over the cobblestone of the king's capital.

The rule is that the city won't hurt you, but that seems acceptable, especially if you don't hear a stop from somewhere.

While he thought it was an out-of-the-box rule for a long time, Lulu stared in the flying direction of the fire bullet and checked for magicians.

But how well you hid, there's no one on the spot anymore.

From the magic used, I guess it wasn't released by so many powerful people, but it was probably the type of maneuver used to challenge them.

That's why Lulu ran away as soon as he made sure he avoided it.

To that judgment that gives him a sense of the future inside, Lulu gives praise for his actions and decides not to dare chase them.

I understood that if I applied physical enhancement by magic right now, enhanced vision and explored magic light by badge, I could undoubtedly catch up in a few dozen seconds, but I also don't look good about being a leap forward to weak bullies.

We knew there was nothing to see as a weak bully, even if Lulu now chased after a junior adventurer, but shall we call it the possession of those who were once demons?

Something like a code in himself refused to go into the action of saying so.

Nevertheless, I understood for myself that the code was not so strict in that I dropped it without even making a great deal of effort to the boy swordsman earlier, but I self-defend myself that this is fine because it is a matter of mood.

Shall we look for and aim for even intermediate adventurers next?

It was fun walking around the city thinking about that.

Initially, it is rare, such as a junior adventurer who can walk around the city in the first round of a mixed qualifying round with a strong man smiling like that.

Normally, all of a sudden, it's something you walk scared of worrying that a superior being will show up and crush you, and the Gayas and Rusty should be wandering this city with more or less that kind of feeling, even if they left so bravely.

But Lulu didn't have any such mood.

Because all those who walk around this city now are just his prey.

No wolf can smile in front of a flock of sheep.

I mean, it was nothing more than that.
