Lesson 118: What Happens

The arena came idle, and Lulu and Illis left the infirmary behind.

On the way to the back door of the arena, the two discuss what to do after this.

"... you want to go straight home?

Lulu's words are about care for Illis.

Having tortured her body and magic to the limit, she thought she would need some peace of mind, and that's what Lulu said.

But Iris answers by shaking his head.

"No...... I appreciate your concern, but my body is fine. My brother-in-law is the most honorable person today, so let him go straight home, etc., and I will be indulged. It is important that we head to the…" Explorer of the Age (Elam Kupidr) "tavern without making such a choice. You will not be angry when your brother-in-law (who is here) returns, but you should still miss him. I can't trample your feelings for me..."

If I won, I would drink in the Tavern of my family (Klan) "Explorer of the Age (Elam Kupidr)", which was a promise to all my family (Klan) members and those I knew in this king's capital.

It's not a good idea to break that unilaterally, but we all know somehow that Lulu cares about Illis, so we'll also know that if we look at the outcome of today's game, there's a chance the two of them won't come.

So I don't have to go.

But again, in that case, Ilis is right, and we may all be lonely.

I'm going to celebrate the lead, but the tenant won't come.

Some may say that's okay if you can use Lulu's victory as an excuse, but that's anyway.

I wanted to do what I could, which was the real deal.

And you should go home, because the Iris himself, which is a possible reason, says it's okay, so there's only one option to take.

Whatever this is about being patient or being forced to say, from Lulu's eyes, all the wounds on Illis' body have disappeared, and the magical circulation is back to normal.

The rest will talk about spiritual fatigue, but if you think about it, Illis is a strong man who fought even out in that war in the past.

It may not be that much of the mental damage caused by this battle for her to survive that battle, which meant recovering deeply and starting to reactivate again.

In fact, while walking down the road, Illis seems in a better mood than usual, if you ask him why.

"My brother-in-law (who is here) asked me to acknowledge him as a sidekick. I feel so good. The sky could fly now."

and so on.

Using witchcraft, of course, makes it possible for Illis to fly, but I guess he's saying it as a idiom, not in that sense.

That's all I feel good about, in that sense.

And Lulu, who decided that if he seemed so well, would be fine, even took him with Illis to his family (Klan) "Explorer of the Age (Elam Kupidr)" tavern.

I don't know who the hell will pay for the liquor......

I walk out hoping the lead will never be paid.

On his way to the tavern, Illis seemed to have a lot of fun and felt like he was floating, but the long felt martial arts tournament ended with Lulu's victory and Illis' semi-finals.

I was going to tell you how I felt.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

The martial arts tournament will also remain on that night, when only tomorrow's awards and closing ceremonies will be held.

The King's office in the royal palace still had a sleepless king doing his duty while fighting the paperwork.

Whether there is a martial arts tournament or not, the King's work does not diminish.

I didn't have a job I could put behind me, but I couldn't complain more than a few things would come in the way if I didn't do it as usual.

Such a busy king's office door is knocked quietly.

The king looked up from the paperwork,

"... who?

When I asked, I heard voices from across the door.

"Your Majesty. It's Romeo. I have a few reports I need to keep in my ear..."

So I found out that the errand was related to the martial arts tournament, and the king invited Romeo to his room.

If it's a report about anything other than a martial arts tournament, a civilian packing it in the Royal Palace is about to come and tell it, but he had left it up to Romeo regarding the martial arts tournament.

Originally, it's a civilian job, but that's the kind of sharing Romeo himself made because he wanted it so strongly.

Romeo is enthusiastic about his work, but when it came to the battle, there was a slight change in character, and it was clear that there was a reason for him to offer assistance on top of his escort for the Martial Arts competition-related king's affairs.

However, that is why I did not reject the offer, because Romeo boasts a very good arm, not only as a martial officer, but also as a civilian, and it is actually more efficient to leave it to him than to leave it to someone else, plus the realistic advantage of being able to turn it around to other tasks by removing it from the work that was originally to be broken.

It's almost as close as it should be, but I never had a problem using Romeo to be true.

Such a Romeo approached the king with a strange face, and when he stood at a distance unreachable to his sword and thanked him, he placed the documents in his hand close to the king's desk, and then went back down again to begin explaining their contents.

I could have let it go right down like this, but the king is also a little tired and decides to listen to Romeo to rest his eyes for a little while.

"So, what happened?

To the king's question, yes, Romeo began to talk.

"Tomorrow's award ceremony and closing ceremony, but several of our guests have offered to be absent. Some of them have already returned to their countries…"

The report was not a particularly strange story.

The unexpected collapse of the absolute barriers of the ancient tribe (elves) has prolonged the duration of the martial arts tournament beyond what was originally planned, thus causing a number of guests to have to return to their country, each of whom already had a number of instances of returning with polite greetings and apologies.

Neither as king can we force ourselves to retain it, but we have already told the guests that we will be free if we have to return each of them at the time the game is postponed, and there should therefore be no problem with that.

Naturally, it shouldn't be like reporting it again now...

Romeo explains to the king who looks strange.

And to the word, the king understood Romeo's concern.

"Among those returning to their country is the Virgin Temple of the Holy Divine Church. We're leaving King's Landing today."

The Virgin, now the most important dignitary in the Games.

That she would return without waiting for the closing ceremony.

It is no longer obvious that it would have come with some purpose, but to say that we will return has already achieved that purpose?

Satisfied only with the incident that supposedly took those adventurers and knights away?

No, then you should have left at that point.

The reason I have to bother until today and not wait for tomorrow to go home......

And think about it, I had one thing in mind.

"After all, it was that Virgin who snuck into the back of the arena?

The fighting tournament is over, and we've already received reports from Lottos, who went to see how the ancient tribes (elves) are doing, but somehow they say that all the magic traps that were behind the arena, precisely on the aisle to the basement part of the arena they call it, had been unlocked.

Some of them are offensive traps and boundaries that are also different from the absolute barriers they have had this time, which would mean they are quite hand-worked if they were to have lifted it.

And it's not just that, it's scary because there's no trace of it.

As for the security of the ancient clan (elves) 's secret technology, they had problems of their pride and the nature of the trap itself, which did not put people out of the kingdom, but were nevertheless explained by the court magician that even one of its scales was quite protective in the fold of a tour accompanied by a court magician once.

If whoever breaks it is the Virgin......

But there is no evidence.

Moreover, the Lottos and other ancient tribes (elves) say that there is nothing stolen, and that no one has come across the Virgin.

A thief who doesn't know what the hell he snuck in for, but it won't mean he hasn't really done anything.

It is a report of the return of the Virgin on the arrowhead, which I thought we should pay close attention to.

There was also enough smell.

"... you planted something? Will something happen at the awards ceremony…"

To the king's twinkle like solitary, Romeo says with a hardened expression.

"Again, does His Majesty think so too..."

"You thought so, too, and you brought the report, didn't you? I also believe that there is no mistake in that presumption... but to retain or attempt to arrest the Virgin..."

"You have no proof..."

Romeo said so bitterly after succeeding first.

Thoughts are the same for kings.

If I can, I want to restrain the Virgin, put her into torture or whatever, hear the whereabouts of the knights and adventurers who have been exposed, and shake and ask her what the hell she's up to and say she's going back to this time of year, etc.

But the real problem, the Virgin, is treated as a hero in the holy kingdom of Arca, and even more so as a high priest of holy divinity.

It is not difficult to imagine what kind of accusations we would receive internationally if we did such things without any support or evidence.

"If it's all calculated and carries things... no, I guess it's all calculated. Horrible woman... though, I can't even go and make him carry everything the way he wants. Romeo, keep an eye on her until she leaves the country."

Romeo nods and answers to the king who said so while touching his jawbeard.

"Ha. We've already shadowed it"

"So, there is... just work fast. And tomorrow's award ceremony..."

"On that, with me and Ias at the helm, even the Kingsguard knights are going to put the armed men on guard. Also, if we tell the extraordinary adventurers to be somewhat vigilant..."

"Hmm... with that much preparation, we can finish the award ceremony without any problems, or... no..."

Even the Kingsguard knights of the kingdom of Leonard, if they include dozens of hand-worked men, plus more than one superior adventurer, plus those led by each of them, are on such a level that they may be dropped if they are small nations.

If you gather all this power and let it hit the guard, you can say that whatever happens, it can be dealt with, I guess the rough guy says, but the king still feels something on his chest that he can't take.

I didn't understand why I felt that way, but he believed I would just say that something was going to happen tomorrow.

Because he has always understood very well in his life that the sixth sense thing he feels when he says this is that he cannot be an out-of-the-box fool.

Romeo also feels some anxiety about the King's seemingly inseparable look because he knew that such things could divide life and death on the battlefield.

"Something to worry about...?

That's what Romeo asks, the king replied.

"... there's a lot of chest noise... what a silly story..."

That being said, that tone is not very much, but it is not like telling a joke.

But the king shook his head slowly and shook off such a look, then changed the story.

"This story ends here more than I can think of any further response. Later, Romeo, let's hope the Kingsguard knights, including you, work. … so, about tomorrow's award ceremony…"

That's what the king started talking about, it was about Lulu.

As a special commodity, the winner can exchange words directly with His Majesty the King, and in doing so, he can ask for one favor.

The king asked Romeo what Lulu wanted and could predict.

Romeo seems to have had a little fun with the unusual story, but he answered with a little thought.

"... the title, etc... no, it's hard to imagine that that invisible boy who's not going to succeed Sir Cadisnola would want what he said... this is a surprisingly difficult issue"

The king looked satisfied and said to Romeo, who answered so with a truly troubled face.

"Right? I've been thinking about it for a while too, but I can't imagine... Tomorrow, it's fun to think about what's going to happen and whether it's in a good or bad way... at all. Trouble."

To the king, who said so in a sarcastic tone, this is where he laughed, Romeo had a tight grin, and as a result, the king laughed at him.

I thought Romeo understood the difference in the size of the vessel.
