Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 158: Stopped Sights

"... that happened"

Zoe exhaled and emotionally said so when she heard all sorts of things from Lulu and the others about what happened during the martial arts tournament, what the Virgin did, and what the hell Rigadora was.

Next to it, Solange hears an interesting story, with the expression, but he doesn't look so surprised.

It's what I've been thinking since Zoë woke up, but Solange is quite calm listening to all sorts of stories about Lulu being the Demon King and the Ancient Demons.

Lulu is concerned and asks.

"Solange... aren't you surprised to hear about us? It's absurd, don't you think?"

It was a direct ball.

Solange is

"No, there's no way you're not surprised. It's just, hey... it's this year, and I'm just stuck more than a young kid. And since my mother fell asleep, I've been looking into all the ancient demons for myself. Among them...... there were many stories of the glory and prosperity of the ancient demons. Terrible magic, and the brave men who fight it, to the high technology that is so impossible to reproduce in modern times. It was something I was looking into for my mother, but even without it I enjoyed looking into the ancient demons. Because they felt an indescribable charm saying they lived a long time ago. As for the battle against the brave, the general legend tells us that the ancient demon tribe had a non-existent, most of it in the abstract, but occasionally, there is. Anecdotal… it was the people (the humans) who fought the Ancient Demons in bad faith, and the Ancient Demons were only being driven to fight for their own survival."

Listen to that, Lulu and Illis are surprised.

"That's surprising. All the pictures and fairy tales that are out there, and the legends that tell us about ancient times, were just like telling us that the ancient demons were evil incarnations."

Basically, the Lulu and the others were looking into and reading what they would normally look for and get.

There, hoping you might have some tips.

But for the most part, lies and exaggerations were noticeable, and there were only a few things that seemed to be true, and only a few of them were already known.

Solange listens and snorts about such Lulu's investigation.

"In my case, I walked around the world and asked around about the ancients of various villages and settlements. It doesn't look like it's in a book or anything... that's what I heard and collected. Well, after decades of collecting it, I couldn't hear a big story, but the general image of the ancient demons in modern times was enough to suspect that it was actually wrong."

When Lulu asked, curious as to what the story was, Solange continued.

"You don't think it's very big... legendary race, didn't you? It's a really normal story - that's the kind of everyday story that people (humans) spend, where the protagonist is told as an ancient demon, or something like that. Even now, the original protagonist of the famous story was not a human race (human), but an ancient demon race, or something like that. For example, there was a tendency for stories to come out of magicians who realized phenomena that were so unrepeatable to modern magicians. Talk about the protagonists of tragedies that destroy people using mind-boggling magic, and stories about a great magician who can go everywhere in an instant."

Transfer to psychic witchcraft.

Indeed, it is supposed to be unusable by modern people (human beings).

There is one exception, but that is generally the case.

Solange continues.

"It's just... I knew I didn't know how the Ancient Demons were doomed, no matter how much I looked up there. I didn't even know how to treat your mother's illness... I guess there's hardly any more information about the ancient demons. It can only be passed on in detail, by mouth."

Assuming that's the case, we don't know what happened to the ancient demons, no matter how much the Lulu's are going to look into.

Then I'm in trouble.

That's why Lulu said.

"No, where Solange hasn't looked, there's still going to be, isn't there?

"... well, that's right. That's not all I've done, either. You had to work to eat. But... do you have any idea?

"There's nothing there. We've given King Leonard permission to inspect the Royal Palace library."

When he heard that, Solange said as surprised.

"Is that true!? That's not so easy to forgive... oh, a prize for a martial arts tournament?

He is an unapologetic old lady around leaning his neck but quickly reaching the right answer.

"That's what I'm talking about. I'm too busy to show you yet... don't you think it's possible there?

"Right...... right. I can't say there isn't. I don't know what it is, but it's definitely packed with Kingdom history. It's a great place to look into the past."

Lulu was relieved because Solange said so after a few thoughts.

Because if you say you've already looked into it or something, the clearance you get can be pointless.

Then says Illis, too.

"There are possibilities for ancient demon-related ruins that will remain everywhere. Isn't that why you have any information on that ruin where Mr. Zoë slept, too?

That's what Lulu was thinking too, wondering how it was, and the three of us saw Zoe with Solange.

Zoë is

"Right. There's nothing there. Because I looked it up, too. It's just... there wasn't any more information there than I said. At best, there were still a few still images left in the central magic machine."

"Still?

"Yep. It was a lot of nostalgia, though it might be odd for me to say this because it was only about a decade ago at best...... here it is"

That being said, Zoe took out something like a glass plate from her nostalgia.

If you look at it, there were definitely still pictures there, with nine ancient demons staring at this one.

Iris sees it, keeps his mouth shut,

"... this to Your Majesty... father. And Grandpa Mutos... and Sister Lene."

That's what I said and smiled.

I guess because everyone in the still looks like they're in a pretty good mood or having fun.

At the center of the still, Lulslia-Nord, the magnificent demon king, dressed in black and dressed in silver hair, stares at this one with an ironic grin.

There is just one next door, a red-haired man burning like a flame, shouldering with the Demon King, and behind its oblique side stands an amazing old man with a wand flashing a terrible glance.

Across the Demon King, just opposite the red-haired man, a skinny woman with a finished beauty who even feels like a crop is laughing at the noise with a sword and cane on her hips, beside which a boy with that face crouched and hands on her cheeks.

Whoever I look at, I miss it.

I never thought this stuff would remain in this era.

"... when I see all this, I feel like we're all still alive and well"

In that still was clearly the Demon King and his eight sides.

Where I took this, I can see the city walls that look familiar on the edge.

It would be a suburb of the Devil's Capital Kranu.

I do remember taking these things there.

"But I didn't know you even had it in print"

Lulu sighed and said so.

Zoe said that this was what was left of the machine in the ruins, so I thought I wouldn't have to bother to print it on the glass plate and carry it around.

I don't know if my luggage is in the way.

But Zoe shakes her head and says.

"No. I appreciated my own good fortune when I found this from that ruin machine. Honorable, to His Majesty the Demon King... and then it was never possible for the neighbors to gather in one place to take still pictures like this. I'm pretty sure the Demons bought these when they sold them at the time. That's how valuable it is."

Zoe, who speaks that way, looks very excited and Lulu pulls a little.

Then Lulu told Iris,

"... Really?

and asked in a whisper, Illis replied.

"Yes... your brother-in-law (who is here) will change his meaning a little, so let me just say here that his similarity was not so much out there at the time. The same goes for everyone in the vicinity...... so if there were anything that was gathered in one place like this and filmed in such a way that we could see each personality at the time...... as Zoe said, I think what we would have bought no matter how expensive would have been endless"

"... so much value for something like this...!?

Lulu stares at the still so much that the hole is about to open, he says.

I do remember that this was the only time we all fit in still images like this later and earlier.

Some say they were busy, and in the first place, because they weren't all the type to say windmill temperament or calm down at times like this.

So I'm sure it's rare.

But I didn't think that was why it was worth so much.

I miss it a lot and it makes me feel sad...

As Lulu thought about it, looking at the burnt glass plate of the stills to be corrected, his owner, Zoe, looked a little worried, and it was in his eyes that he was holding his hand, snagging and touching his mouth while unraveling.

"- What's up?

When asked so, Zoe seemed spicy to say,

"Oh, you know... don't break this, okay? It's important. Is that important?

And I said it like a child deprived of a toy.

From that tone and expression, I can understand you saying that you really care about this glass plate, and Lulu sighs again,

"... ok. Here."

I said and quietly handed him the still.

Zoe respectfully received it, gently to handle the broken goods, then began to wipe it with a soft looking cloth that she did not know where she had removed the dust and dirt from the plate, and finally gently wrapped it in a cloth to make her nostalgic.

I knew it was muscular.

Then, as Ilis quietly approached Zoe, he borrowed his ear and whispered.

"... burn me up too..."

Lulu wasn't particularly earful, but he still heard me.

to the words of Illis. Zoe said,

"You can do as many as you want if you go to that ruin, so leave it to me!

And I strained my chest.

Solange, who had heard about those two as well as Lulu,

"... you used to be so popular"

and smugly, so Lulu says,

"I didn't even know..."

And he came to me with a grunt and disappointment.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Then we talked about a lot of things, but what Zoe wanted to hear was what Lulu and Illis were going to do.

First, I plan to go to the Logsuela Mountains to return Rigadora, but I also don't have a detailed plan for afterwards.

Explain to the mess.

"I haven't peeked into the Royal Palace's forbidden library yet, so I'm going to start there... but then I don't plan on saying this in particular. As much as I'd like to go to different areas to find traces of the ancient demons, if you dare. If you're an adventurer, you can flutter at the Adventurers' Union (Guild) and think you're just fine for it."

"Heh... that sounds fun. When I lived with Solange, too, I had been away occasionally and looked around a lot, but I knew it was fun. There were a lot of things that weren't there before... and it was a fresh experience to be able to deal with people (human beings) without any obsession..."

Lulu says to such a zoe.

"Zoe would come, too, wouldn't she?

Naturally, I would, so it was a dialogue.

But Zoe says in a slightly lost way.

"... I said... here, if I could live with Solange..."

It was an unexpected dialogue as well as a well understood one.

I was able to reunite with my stepdaughter, who once lived a peaceful life with me.

So I want to live with you.

It is an extremely natural emotion.

However, Zoe added a word.

"Of course, if Lulu can tell me you need my help, I'll get there no matter what I put down"

and.

That was from loyalty to the Demon King.

But for Lulu, that's something we don't need now.

For Lulu, who thinks he was once unable to send a peaceful life to the people who should have sheltered him, Zoe wanted him to live the peaceful life he should have been able to live.

So I thought it would not be a good idea if he wanted to travel with me out of loyalty and duty.

For that reason, says Lulu.

"No... Zoe. I know I'd be comfortable with you... but you'll have a family. Together, there's a family I want to live with. I think I should prioritize you."

I guess Zoe understood Lulu's intentions, which she told him that way.

Nod slowly,

"... yeah. Sorry......"

And I apologized.

Solange looked at such a zoe with a subtle eye, but neither Lulu nor Illis realised about it, and they went back to the village.
