Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 168: Future Policy

- The patsy and the firewood were burning.

Its flames, swinging red and loose, are warm and bring calm and warmth as the cold night breeze blows with the incense of the raw wood.

Into the woods at the foot of the Logsuela Mountains, we continued to explore for a while and the sun went down.

I've fought demons several times since then, but after all, every demon has been bigger and more powerful than that in general.

I see, indeed, it would be dangerous if such demons massed and pushed over to the finals.

Even if it's just a few, an intermediate adventurer will do the trick.

Because things of that strength accounted for the majority.

In the course of my exploration, I don't seem so strong, let's just say I'm short, I went to see the little demons, but as soon as I find the Lulu in the distance, they often run away, and I haven't been able to grasp the situation in this forest yet.

However, there was definitely something wrong with this forest, and one was consistent with the three of us here.

It's a mystery whether Rigadora thinks so or not, but maybe it's not the wrong guess, as she looks like it's going to be most difficult with a plump face.

"It's so different in the woods at the foot. It could be worse if we climbed the mountain."

Lulu groans so.

It was Zoe who answered.

"Will there be more demons, or something else... I don't know about that, but I'm pretty sure it's not very good. It's Rigadora's field, and I thought it would be easier to get there... but it could be more tricky than I thought."

To the words of Lulu and Zoe, Iris thinks a little before saying:

"It's also possible that if you stay like this, you will exceed your deadline... but halfway through the investigation, it's a problem if damage occurs later. When this happens...... for once, why don't you go back to the finals?

To the sudden suggestion, Lulu and Zoe tilt their necks.

Basically, I was thinking about spending a few days in the woods and in the mountains, investigating them together and going back.

So, going back once, it's a story that wasn't planned.

Taking Lulu and Zoe's gaze, Iris continued.

"The request is a survey of the Logsuela Mountains - technically, the survey around the Logsuela Mountains, so, for once, if you tell them what you found out today as a request, it won't be accomplished. I thought it would be better to go back to reporting in earnest than to work in the form of a report summarizing and reporting on what we have investigated over a few days now, which presumably will likely exceed the deadline if we are investigating it collectively..."

What Illis meant to say was understandable to both Lulu and Zoe.

Originally, it is a request left to Lulu and the others to investigate the extent to which they have investigated and said so.

Perhaps we should proceed in the way that Illis said.

By appointment, I meant enough to figure out if Rigadora goes back or doesn't, but as far as the forest is concerned, now that it's clear that things aren't going to be that easy, the Iris proposal seems reasonable.

"Right... will you? For today - this is the time. I'll be in Nojuku..."

That's what Lulu says as he sees a flash of brilliance in the sky sunk in the dark.

Illis nodded.

"Yep. I don't mind going back now, but the gates of the finals at the heart will probably be closed, and I'm sorry to knock the gatekeepers up..."

Continue, as Zoe moves her hand.

Its hands are clenched with a short knife, cutting the demonic area hunted in the woods to the right size.

"I like that... by the way, what do we do with the grill?

I heard something while passing meat through the skewer.

It is dinner.

The cook could have been anyone, but Lulu had long depended on Illis for that area, so inevitably it would mean that only Illis and Zoe could do it.

And as a result of the consultation, the employee today was Zoe.

They could have done it for both of us, but Zoe only went round the various regions of this world for ten years on boulders, and they know the cuisine of different regions.

I am also familiar with vanilla varieties, and after wandering around the woods a little, I have collected so many different kinds of vanilla and spice dishes that I would like to ask where it was.

In addition, in ancient times, Zoe was of marriageable age, so the bridesmaid training also learned quite deeply about the ancient demonic cuisine, and she was more familiar with it than with Illis.

He didn't have time for that because Iris was a child, and in one way or another, he spent time fighting in those days.

Even so, there are many things made by the Demon King's Army, and home-cooked food is suspicious.

For that reason, he also said he wanted Zoe to tell me what he said that.

I had a taste today, so I asked them to show off their arms.

Of course, it is Nojuku.

Because of the scarcity of ingredients and cooking utensils, it turns out to be a luxurious outdoor dish, but Zoe still cooks very well.

For once, something that can be called a pot has also been set on fire.

Apparently, Illis got it at the outdoor shop in Wang Du, the crystal's magic guide machine - the shape of the "all-purpose crystal (Kohl Yakor Gebisch)" in the form of a pan.

I was surprised when I got this stuff, but when I heard how it was done, I was convinced that there were times in the modern age when there were magic guidance machines out there in the way I said so.

There are also a variety of magic guidance machines, not necessarily just for battle, but rather for household goods, which were more numerous.

It's rather conceivable that what I said is out there as a crap with no eating face in this world.

What I said is, unfortunately, not so durable, and therefore unlikely to actually meet apart from the thousands of years of months, but still this is how Illis is obtained.

It wasn't a reckless story to think that if you look, you might find it.

Next time I see an outdoor shop or something, it's only natural that I thought I'd take a closer look.

So, I waited awhile, Zoe said.

"Maybe it's time..."

Removing the lid of the pan made of crystals, the smell of stimulating appetite spread around, along with the fluffy hot air.

If it's a sharp demon with a sense of smell, I don't feel like I could just drop by, but is it the power of vanilla?

There were no signs of demons around.

Even if it smells good to people, it may be an unpleasant smell to demons.

However, Rigadora is not particularly nasty, waving her tail and staring at the pan.

For Rigadora, that pot seems like a treat.

Looking forward to the meat skewers of the demons stabbing around the fire as well, is it adorable that the saliva is drooling?

"It's not as good as my specialty water-cooked... but I don't think I can eat much else. It contains ingredients that we don't really use in modern times, and it's packed with ideas from different regions."

In fact, the smell was a great nostalgia for Lulu and Illis.

I used to eat a lot.

Even in modern times, Illis was trying to reproduce it, but it was so different now that he gave up.

But now I know why.

The ingredients were different.

Iris said he had some preconceived notion or somehow was trying to make it out of something that was in circulation in modern times.

They explained the ingredients one by one and I finally figured that out.

Some are considered poisonous in modern times, but it means that they can be eaten with proper treatment.

I also thought about the possibility of telling people (humans) that they are poisonous and have no problem with the Demons, and I asked them, but Zoe has already confirmed on that point, so it is ok.

I just wanted to ask you how you checked, but you probably fed the animals, etc.

I wouldn't be using Solange for poisoning.

"When two women lived together, occasionally the impudent came. I invited her home for a delicious water cook. Few of them escaped with their stomachs down."

Smiling so, Zoe winked and looked at Lulu and Iris.

I guess you're talking about the time I lived with Solange.

Sure, Zoe is a luxurious woman who doesn't look strong all the time, and Solange is now an old woman of terrible force, but fifty years ago she should have looked like an easy girl to handle.

It is not strange how much the undelivered come when such two people live in the back of the woods.

I'm not impressed with using it for poison viewing - but if you say you deserve it, that'll be it.

"I didn't give you anything to die for, either. At best, it was enough to break my stomach a little or make me dizzy. Not one of them is dead."

That much mercy seems to have been on the boulder Zoe as well.

That's all I heard, and Lulu and Illis put their hands on the pan with confidence.

The taste was very delicious and it tasted like my eyeballs were getting hot.

Zoe was in a panic about the reaction of the two exaggerated, but you know how it feels.

"I'll make it for you anytime from now on... because I'll teach Iris too. I'm glad they say it's delicious, but I'm confused when I'm so impressed..."

He said with an indescribable face.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

The next morning, the Lulu decided to return to the city of Final.

I haven't climbed the mountain yet, which makes it insufficient as a report content, but I also wanted to discuss the future, so I'll have to give up there.

During the night, the three of us took turns, but if we all want to sleep, we can sleep, but we have a body that doesn't require a lot of sleep in the first place.

Besides that, it was so much Zara who was in the army and worked without sleep for a week.

Lulu is a paperwork as Demon King, but as much as Zoe and Illis continued to fight people (human beings) in that state, he can afford just about a day.

I was therefore able to spend the night without any danger.

Final gatekeepers looked strange to the three of them back in the finals early in the morning.

Generally speaking, when you say an adventurer who has been asked to cross the day, you often don't come back until about noon, and when an adventurer who doesn't, in some circumstances, doesn't come back until morning, he finally does, largely because he is in a state of exhaustion.

But Lulu and the others are all fine, and it seems unusual as adventurers to come back at such a time.

However, I was surprised when a public tale told me about the forest that I should also tell soldiers who protect the finals.

"Cyclops cattle (catbrepas) on stone statue demons (gargoyles) over five meters? Is that true? It's..."

Lulu and the others thought that was the level of demons coming out around the Logsuela Mountains, so they leaned their necks against the reaction.

Then the soldier explains.

"No, whatever the mountain is, don't look inside that big guy in the woods at the foot. Of course, I don't know because I haven't been able to get into the woods lately... at least not before. If that story is true, it's quite dangerous."

and.

Then,

"You only met a demon like that once? Or many times......?

He asks, so Lulu said.

"Many times, yeah. I didn't feel the impression that it was a particularly powerful demon. Instead, I thought it was usual for those powerful demons to appear in those woods... I guess not with that face..."

The faces of the soldiers who were hitting the response looked very serious, and the other soldiers who were listening behind the Lulu's story looked similar.

Lulu continues.

"Detailed reports will be made to the Adventurers Union (guild) from now on, so they will also be communicated to the Final's National Army through the country. … just be very careful because that's what you say"

Tell him so.

When demons from the Logsuela Mountains come to the finals, it is the soldiers packing them as gatekeepers who stand on the arrow.

That's why I didn't have to tell them in particular, but I did.

They nodded to Lulu and then started consulting him.

Probably going to increase the number of soldiers hitting the gatekeeper.

There are plenty of them in their current state, but they think there might be less demons like Lulu's.

Lulu and the others confirm it and then go inside the finals.

The place to head is naturally the Adventurers Union (Guild).

It goes without saying that it is first to report on what we have seen and then again, to explain that we intend to go into the mountains.
