Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 219: Imitation

"It's weird again. I brought you..."

Barbara stared at Zoe and Iris with a subtle look on her face and sighed.

Thanks to the struggle between Illis and Zoe, from one moment to another, suddenly, the war situation changed and the demons on the other side lost control as confused.

Barbara was probably convinced that the two of them had done something, but I can't say anything about being able to bring in a mysterious figure like this.

The person that Illis carries on his shoulder is the girl with the gray hair bob-cut, smaller than Illis and looks like a child.

But I guess it is wrong to assume that he is an ordinary child caught by Illis on this battlefield.

I don't feel any special power, but what the hell is she?

Barbara asks, shaking her neck.

"So, what's that kid? People (human), it looks like."

"Come on. I just don't get it either... at least I'm pretty sure this girl will be one of the Lord of the demons attacking this forest. After this girl passed out, she suddenly confirmed that the demons' movements had begun to get confused."

In response to Barbara's question, Iris answered as he lowered his shoulder luggage to the ground with a stiffness.

"That was a hit. I've seen this one weird too."

That's what Zoe said while observing Iris' luggage wandering.

"Weird, is it?

"Yeah. A man named the Ancient Demons, Bernfriet-Kepler or something. I've seen Lulu before..."

Apparently there was something pinning on Zoe's added information, and Iris nodded,

"Previously... I guess it was at the Asuos mine. I remember hearing about you. He said there was something wrong with him. That the man's name was Bernfriet-Kepler..."

"Really? Are you on edge or not...... I knocked him down once, but you let him get away with it. If you sold your fight to His Majesty, you should have crushed it thoroughly, but it's mindless..."

and Zoe squeezing his gripping hand.

Hearing her words, Barbara tilted her neck,

"... Your Majesty?

and crushed, but Zoe deceives appropriately.

"... never mind. Talk about this one. So, Barbara. What are we going to do now? Probably decided on the battlefield..."

If you look at the magic that is roughly but feels in the woods, Zoe also figured out which is the advantage.

There was a difference in quantity from the beginning.

The forest demons were more numerous, as well as the local interest is here.

Besides that, there was little more chance of losing than Zoe and Iris, plus a substandard force called Barbara.

To their opponents, that was perhaps an unexpected ambush.

Without Lulu or Zoë, Iris or Barbara, there's a good chance they would have won over there.

To the masses of demons, to the girl caught by Illis, to Bernfleet, the giant by sacrificial witchcraft.

All of them are threats, and the knights and adventurers of the finals alone would have had tough ones.

Even for a demon in the woods, it should have been helpless to the girl and Bernfleet's use of the degraded holy sword (AZ Helev).

That can be a deadly weapon for a demonic creature.

Nevertheless, in reality it is a worry that has already been banished.

What we should think about later is what we're going to do, and it won't be about what happens.

Barbara nodded at the words of Zoe,

"Right...... the other side seems pretty much out of control, and I think we can manage this with just the demons in the woods. I'd appreciate it if you two could get back to the finals and explain what's going on here to the city folks...... and what about that girl? You can pick it up over here and interrogate me... we're demons, so I'm not so used to that, to be honest. Don't get too much information out of me. It might be over."

Barbara says that they don't listen from the people who capture them (human beings), but that doesn't mean that there are people who specialize in it, and they don't want us to expect them if we want to hear any details.

Illis snorts because it is a story that the demon does not hear itself, and it is also natural that no one specializes in such things.

"Then let's take this girl to the finals and let the Adventurers' Union (Guild) handle the interrogation. They'll have the technology to say that, and they'll take you from somewhere they don't have to be."

The Adventurers' Union (Guild) has a wide network.

It wasn't necessarily just a collection of battle-specific people, it was a word to think that such people would be able to find them soon as well.

"Well, I guess that's fine. We'll be responsible for the rest of the party hunt. I'm not willing to let even one pass through the finals, but tell them not to break the alert for a while..."

and Barbara said to Zoe and Iris, about to disband, and a demon came running from the back of the forest.

He's not a very high-ranking demon, but he seems to be a reputable demon for the speed of his legs, and that demon, like a thin, supple bobcat, disappeared into the woods like a disease when he spoke to Barbara a couple of words.

The two conversations were not in the language of someone that Zoe or Illis could understand, but rather in something like a ringing voice, so I didn't know what that was about, but Barbara explained it to me shortly afterwards.

"Just for a second, can you help me?

Apparently, that wasn't very good news.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

Going west for a while over the finals, sooner or later, we would arrive in the underground city of Teram Nadia, but naturally a number of accommodation towns were set up on the way to get there.

One of them, Mehit, one of the closest lodging towns to the finals, was famous for its scenic landscape and its delicious cuisine with land-specific herbs, making it a good lodging town for many travellers to stop.

Inevitably, the accommodation itself is slightly larger than other accommodation towns, ranging from luxury to bareback-only boarding houses.

Among those inns, he was a relatively poor minister, and that was the only room in the inn that seemed to stop about a stuffed traveler, looking at the whole doll on the floor with a smile on his face from one man.

Looking closely, the man and the doll were very similar, as if they were living copies, and seemed like they could stay in a little better inn if they had arms that could make a doll like this, and it was odd why this man was staying in an inn at such an end of the day.

But the man doesn't look particularly uncomfortable, but rather stares at the doll in a good mood.

How long would that have lasted?

Suddenly, the doll shuddered when it bumped all by itself, and then when the pigment fell out and the whole thing stained gray, it melted and collapsed.

I must have tilted my neck if there was anything watching this happen, but only a man stays in this room.

Nothing questioned, and the doll returned to the earth mass entirely.

Then, strangely enough, the look on the face of a man who had an uncomfortable grin that was not here earlier changes all the time.

Suddenly, it was such a look, as if it had returned to me, that reason returned to my eyes, and besides my thoughts, I became something neat that I could see the man's face was in order.

Then the man, for a few seconds, observes the puppet's collapsed dirt mass,

"... Hmm. Shattered... destroyed without a trace."

and nodded like any other HR.

Then shake your neck loose and continue.

"Oh my goodness. I thought I could play a little more, but it seemed as wasteful as I'd expect... and then... at best, did I just say sacrificial witchcraft? That girl is apparently unconscious too, and the demons are losing control..."

Saying so, the man took out from his nostrils a bunch of little stones, turned them into small mountains and stacked them on the floor, putting up his hand with some spell.

"... be made, life, crumble by my call, take the form I desire..." Melting rebirth ""

Then the stone mountain starts to move as if it were conscious, breaking its shape, and merging.

Sticking together, eliminating its boundaries and thriving it was still like a water demon (slime), but the shape they eventually took is something different from a water demon (slime).

"Not bad...... well, I guess I just said time buying is at best. There are ancient dragons in that mountain."

In front of a man is a doll that mimics a dragon, made of stone that is about half the size of the man's back length.

It was incredibly quiet and still moving until just now, but its eyes glowed red and felt willing.

"Well... let's be satisfied around here this time. The next time you see it, you have to have a more interesting offering. They're going to be good material..."

That said, a man touches a dragon doll.

Then the dragon's eyes began to shimmer.

"Of course, as far as I'm concerned, you can fall down here."

The man laughed and stared at the doll.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

"Is this...!?

I stared at it as Illis opened his eyes.

The same applies to Zoë and Barbara.

Why, because what is in front of me was something that did not exist until earlier.

It's a dragon.

He was an undressed dragon that gave rise to rocky bodies, bird feathers, and huge horns.

"Rock Dragon...? No, if so, it should be a rock to the wing. And horns..."

When Zoe snaps, Barbara snorts, too.

"That's not a dragon. Something more... nasty. I'm a dragon, I know. They're not creatures of the same race."

"So what the hell is it?

When Illis asked, Barbara replied.

"According to reports of demons watching the whole thing, the opponents they were fighting collapsed and merged."

to that answer, Iris was convinced that

"Is it sacrificial magic? I didn't know you were going to use it over here... but it's a little incomplete..."

From the knowledge of Illis, sacrificial witchcraft is highly complete, given the effects of witchcraft itself, except in that sacrificial witchcraft is extremely scary, but it has to pay a great deal of costs.

Thus, something that occurs when it is exercised (...) is rarely easily counter-productive, which is why even the ancient demons feared it.

But the dragon in front of me now is just a little too dressed from that point of view.

The whole creation itself, too, but I don't feel intimidated as if it's a strain.

I know a great deal of magic is gathering, but I feel that power squeezing rapidly as if air were coming out of the balloon.

Can I once call that sacrificial witchcraft...

But Iris immediately shook his head,

"No, let's leave that in itself for now. I've never been over to clean up fast. Mind if I just knock you down?

And when Illis said, Barbara said,

"Of course. That said, don't destroy the forest too much. That's why I need both of you."

I said.

Barbara is an ancient dragon (Enchanted Dragon).

If you care about that, you can also burn this land down.

but even though this is temporary, it is the land she rules, and it makes no sense to destroy it.

That's why I'm still looking like a person, and I guess I'm willing to keep fighting.

And when it comes to fighting that stone dragon in that state, it could only take a little while.

That's why Zoe and Iris.

The two nodded to Barbara,

"So do you want to do it"

"If it takes the three of us, it'll be right there."

I said and laughed.

Barbara answers that.

"Please, don't break the woods, okay?

Illis and Zoe didn't realize that there were some serious worries about the words.
