Chapter 363 - 334: The True Primordial True Body
The lingering chime of the bell on the Demonstration Platform had not yet faded.
The afternoon light filtered through the misty sea of Buddha Light clouds over Spirit Mountain, scattering mottled and sacred golden radiance.
The brief rest had not cooled the fervent enthusiasm of the five hundred Arhats to seek the Dao and discuss the Dharma.
Just as 1:00 PM arrived, without any need for prompting, the Arhats had already refocused their minds, their gazes once again turning to the central lotus platform.
The withered old monk remained seated in quiet meditation, merely giving a slight nod.
This time, an Arhat with an ethereal aura, clad in a Cloud Pattern Kasaya, was the first to speak. He expounded on the distinction between "Illusory Bubble" and "Void and Subtle Existence."
Immediately after, other Arhats continued, some discussing the intricacies of the "Twelve Causes and Conditions," others debating the essentials of practicing the "Six Perfections and Ten Thousand Practices," and still others arguing the true meaning of "Nirvana Silence."
The Dharma sound rose again, even more profound and subtle than in the morning.
Qi Yun remained cross-legged, his expression serene and his gaze focused.
The sparks of wisdom from the five hundred Arhats continued to clash, and the essence of the Buddhist Dao flowed like a great river, surging ceaselessly into his perception.
At first, he could still maintain a detached sense of observation and analysis, verifying, filtering, and absorbing what he heard and felt against his own fundamental Dao Foundation, the [Daluo Heaven].
However, as time went on.
For three days and three nights, the Dharma sound never ceased.
The discourse on the Demonstration Platform grew deeper and deeper, the Buddhist mysteries they touched upon drawing ever closer to certain fundamental laws.
The unreserved outpour of wisdom from the five hundred Foundation Establishment Arhats converged into a vast and boundless "Sea of Buddhism."
Qi Yun was immersed within it, like a sponge, constantly absorbing, digesting, and integrating.
His Buddhist Dao Intent soared, purified, and thickened at an astonishing rate.
The Buddhist aura he naturally emanated transformed from its initial, superficial imitation into something increasingly refined and harmonious, as if it had been tempered a thousand times.
The Great Light Appearance behind his head became increasingly restrained and mellow. The lotuses, Sanskrit characters, and Buddha images manifesting within its halo evolved from their initial awkwardness, gradually becoming fluid and natural.
It even began to faintly resonate with a deeper rhythm of Buddhism.
His posture, his breathing, even his fingertips began to unconsciously emit a faint glimmer of Buddha Essence.
At the end of the third day, as dawn broke, the faint morning light pierced through the pale golden clouds, draping the Demonstration Platform in a final, glorious, silken veil.
The last Arhat to expound on "the dual cultivation of Compassion and wisdom" finished speaking and brought his palms together.
The high-intensity Buddhist baptism that had lasted for three days and three nights finally came to an end.
Many Arhats showed exhaustion on their faces, but their eyes shone with a brilliant light, clearly having gained immensely.
A unique atmosphere permeated the area—one of tranquility, fulfillment, and the lingering flow of wisdom.
Qi Yun slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes were perfectly clear and peaceful, showing no trace of fatigue. Instead, they held a pure, bright light, as if they had been cleansed.
His body was suffused with Buddha’s Rhyme, his aura was harmonious and complete, and the gentle Light Appearance behind his head flowed smoothly, illuminating his calm and compassionate face.
At this moment, sitting there, he truly looked like an enlightened master who had practiced since childhood, deeply studied Buddhist Skills, and possessed a heart free from dust.
His inner state and outer appearance were one, pure and free, perfectly in harmony with the surrounding Holy Realm.
Deep within the [Daluo Heaven], the small golden figure that was Cai Shen abruptly stood up, his little face showing a look of shock and uncertainty for the first time.
’This is bad!’
He stared at Qi Yun’s flawlessly natural Buddhist bearing in the outside world, his golden, illusory form trembling slightly.
’This kid... he’s been sucked in by the collective Mind Power Field and pure Buddhist Skills of these five hundred bald donkeys!’
’Is the contaminating power of the Buddhist Skills in this Spirit Mountain Sacred Realm really so tyrannical and insidious?’
’Even the Primordial True Body’s simulation is about to become real?’
He could feel that Qi Yun’s current state was extremely peculiar.
His Heart and Spirit, his Daoist Intent, and even a part of his life’s rhythm were being involuntarily shifted and settled toward the direction of a pure, profound "Buddhist Cultivator" under the washing and assimilation of a massive amount of High Tier Buddhist information over those three days and nights.
If this continued, he feared Qi Yun’s very perception would be subtly influenced until he truly believed he was "Fa Hai"!
’Let me shout you awake.’
’Foolish child, why don’t you—’
Cai Shen stirred up a thread of pure Emperor’s True Spirit Power and, aiming for the depths of Qi Yun’s Purple Mansion, was about to deliver a head-clearing, enlightening shout!
But just as this shout from the True Spirit was about to erupt—
’Elder Cai, I’m fine.’
Qi Yun’s calm Heart Thought echoed first within the [Daluo Heaven], clear and steady.
In the outside world, his eyes were still full of compassion, his Buddhist appearance solemn.
But inside the [Daluo Heaven], the manifested body of Qi Yun’s Divine Soul Origin quietly appeared.
It still had the same monk-like appearance as his external body, sitting cross-legged in the center of the Realm Heaven, which resembled primordial chaos.
Buddha Light swirled around it, more intense and pure than on the outside. The ancient aura of the Great Brightness Sect intertwined with the essence of all the Buddhist Skills absorbed over the past three days, forming a dazzling Buddhist phenomenon.
However, at the core of this blazing Buddha Light, a trace of ice-like clarity shone from the depths of Qi Yun’s Divine Soul’s eyes.
It was the absolute lucidity of Qi Yun’s true self.
Untainted by any Outer Dao.
The True Spirit power Cai Shen was about to unleash came to an abrupt halt. He stared at him in bewilderment.
"You...?"
Qi Yun’s Divine Soul body didn’t explain, but simply formed an arcane and ancient Seal Technique with his hands before his chest.
It was not a Buddhist Sect hand seal.
It was the fundamental Dharma Seal of the [Daluo Heaven].
"Commanding All Skills, evolving all forms."
"Primordial true meaning, dividing Yin and Yang."
Amidst the low chanting of the spell, the extremely blazing Buddhist light and the vast essence of the Buddhist Dao surrounding his body began to fluctuate violently, converging and collapsing!
The [Daluo Heaven] trembled slightly, and the chaotic airflow accelerated, as if providing the most fundamental support and crucible.
HUMMM!
It was a clear, resonant hum, carrying a naturally-formed Dao Rhyme.
A figure slowly separated from Qi Yun’s body, stood up, and walked out.
It was a man dressed in simple white monk robes, his face serene, his eyes holding endless compassion and wisdom.
His features were identical to Qi Yun’s, but his temperament was completely different.
It lacked the sharpness and calm hidden deep within Qi Yun’s true self.
All that remained was the pure, harmonious, and universally compassionate bearing of a great Buddhist master.
A clear Light Appearance naturally hovered behind his head, far more solid and ancient than the one manifested outside.
At the core of the Light Appearance, the faint illusory figure of the Great Brightness and Power Arriving Bodhisattva sat cross-legged, its virtuous might immeasurable.
The white-robed monk brought his palms together in a slight bow toward Qi Yun’s true Divine Soul. A smile touched his lips and his eyes were gentle, but he spoke no words, as if everything was understood without them.
At the same time, the previously silent [Magic Technique Panel] trembled slightly in Qi Yun’s consciousness.
At the top of the panel, the entry for [Daluo Heaven] suddenly flared with an unprecedented brilliance.
The brilliance flowed and gathered, slowly condensing below the list of magic techniques, in a blank area, into a new line of text that flowed with a faint, golden-white light:
[Great Brightness Shizhi Dharma Body]
’This time, I really must "thank" these fellow Buddhist Cultivators.’
With a flicker of his Heart Thought, the white-robed Dharma Body that had just separated and solidified—identical to him in appearance but with a compassionate temperament—transformed into a gentle stream of Flowing Light and merged into the [Daluo Heaven], ready to be manifested at will to walk the world.
The aura of Qi Yun’s true Divine Soul body grew even more profound and lofty, as if he were seated upon the Daluo Heaven itself, above the source of the Ten Thousand Laws and all phenomena.
As his eyes opened and closed, chaos was born and destroyed.
They reflected the myriad scenes from the three-day Dharma assembly, as well as a deeper Daoist enlightenment.
’If not for this Dharma assembly, which gathered the wisdom of five hundred Arhats and the pure Holy Realm Buddha Rhyme, constantly washing over and immersing me with a massive amount of the essence of the Buddhist Dao... how could I have elevated my simulated Buddhist Dao Intent to such a pure and profound state in such a short time?’
He murmured to himself, his voice echoing in the vast expanse of the [Daluo Heaven], carrying a trace of the clarity that comes from seizing an opportunity.
"And I would have been unable to unearth the... true wondrous use of this [Primordial True Body]."
His thoughts raced back.
Ever since he had condensed the [Primordial True Body], he had always thought that this Dharma Body, as one of the [Dharma Bodies] needed to achieve True Monarch Samadhi, had its core marvel in the ability to "simulate and transform into all the Ten Thousand Laws and Daoist Inheritances at will."
Relying on the Primordial Immortal Light and the foundation of the [Daluo Heaven], he could indeed freely control and simulate the Magical Power, aura, and even Divine Technique characteristics of other schools, as if donning a series of perfectly deceptive cloaks.
This ability sounded extraordinarily mystical, enough to deceive even the heavens and allow him to handle all sorts of complex situations.
But deep down, Qi Yun had always felt that if this was all there was to it, it seemed... a bit underwhelming.
His fundamental Daoist inheritance was the supreme Daoist mystery based on the [Daluo Heaven].
This Dao encompassed everything and commanded all laws; its potential and heights were far beyond what ordinary schools could compare to.
Spending effort to simulate, or even deeply study, other Daoist inheritances and Dharma Lineages could certainly be convenient in specific situations.
But in the long run, wasn’t it putting the cart before the horse?
Was he supposed to scatter his precious cultivation energy to study a hundred schools and become a "jack of all trades, master of none" imitator?
This question was like a thin thorn buried deep in his Dao Heart.
Until now, when he had used the power of the [Primordial True Body] to simulate the heritage of the Great Brightness Sect and delve deep into this Buddhist Cultivation Buddha Country.
At first, he still saw it as nothing more than a sophisticated disguise technique.
However, the three-day Dharma assembly, the unrestrained torrent of wisdom from five hundred Arhats, and the pervasive, all-assimilating, majestic Buddha’s Rhyme of the Spirit Mountain Sacred Realm had nearly turned his pretense into reality, to the point where his Divine Soul and Daoist Intent showed signs of shifting.
But crisis was also opportunity.
A more fundamental, profound sense originating from the deepest part of the [Primordial True Body] was suddenly stimulated and illuminated by this extreme external pressure and internal accumulation!
The Ten Thousand Laws turning at his will was merely a superficial manifestation!
The truly tyrannical aspect of the [Primordial True Body] lay in its "Primordial" true meaning.
The beginning of all things, the source of the Ten Thousand Laws, without attachment or hindrance, capable of deriving ten thousand forms.
It could also... divide into ten thousand bodies!
Its true purpose was not to imitate other Daoist inheritances and become a hodgepodge.
Rather, it was to understand the essence of a particular Dharma Lineage and Daoist inheritance, and after raising one’s cultivation accumulation to a sufficiently profound and perfect state, to condense a complete body in form and spirit, one that could continue to cultivate and advance along that inheritance’s path.
The [Daoist Inheritance Dharma Body]!
This Dharma Body was like an independent tributary flowing out from his "Primordial Source."
The tributary has its own riverbed, water quality, and even its own flowing momentum.
But ultimately, it originates from the main river, is governed by the main river’s fundamental will, and will not usurp the host’s position or contaminate the original source.
A single one was the ultimate manifestation of a Daoist inheritance.
And the potential of the [Primordial True Body]...
"Other Foundation Establishment Masters, even those with unparalleled talent and heaven-defying opportunities, are limited by their Dao Foundation and their soul’s capacity. In their entire lives, they can only refine and condense a single compatible [Dharma Body]."
Chaotic light swirled in Qi Yun’s eyes as he deduced the full picture behind this earth-shattering discovery.
"But I..."
With a flicker of his Heart Thought, the insignia representing the [Great Brightness Shizhi Dharma Body] glowed faintly deep within the [Daluo Heaven].
"As long as the conditions are met, and I comprehend the essence of a path to a certain realm, I can... condense a second, a third... and theoretically, countless different [Daoist Inheritance Dharma Bodies]!"
This was the true tyrannical power of the [Primordial True Body]!
Each Dharma Body could reach the pinnacle in its own exclusive Daoist domain.
And his true self would be enthroned high in the [Daluo Heaven], commanding the Ten Thousand Laws.
He would sit and watch his many bodies enact the Dao, as all streams return to the source!
This trip to Spirit Mountain, a blessing in disguise born of serendipity, had allowed him to break through such a crucial barrier on his Dao path!
Qi Yun slowly exhaled a breath of formless air. Inside the [Daluo Heaven], this breath transformed into a wisp of Dao Rhyme like that from the beginning of chaos, and spread out.
"A Daoist Inheritance Dharma Body appearing on the [Magic Technique Panel] means it can also refine Dao Intent Spiritual Objects to be upgraded."
"This Spirit Mountain... is truly a land of treasure."
Back in the outside world.
Qi Yun slightly raised his eyes, looking at the surrounding Foundation Establishment Arhats as a smile slowly formed on his lips.
This was not a smile commonly seen in this Buddha Country.
But in the Northwest, it represented a famous name.
The Wuji Holy Sect!
...
