"Huh?"

No, did she forget something?

Meimei suddenly lifted her head from the book and remembered she promised to make breakfast for Dan Tingye tomorrow, but there were no more ingredients in the fridge!

She quickly closed the book and grabbed her bag, running out the door.

Once she got outside, she realized it was already dark. There was a large supermarket near her residential area, just a ten-minute walk away.

After purchasing ingredients from the supermarket and storing them in the fridge, Meimei lay back in bed with her book.

She set an alarm early the next morning, waking up early to prepare breakfast.

Just after packing breakfast, she received a call from Dan Tingye, "I’m waiting downstairs for you."

"..."

Meimei was stunned for a moment, just about to speak but found the call had already ended.

She puckered her lips, grabbed the lunchboxes, locked the door, and ran toward the residential area entrance.

Outside the residential area, she indeed saw Dan Tingye’s car parked by the roadside. The window was slightly rolled down; just as Meimei ran out she could see his dazzling, alluring face bathed in sunlight.

He was squinting slightly as if dozing off; the sunlight fell on his face, emanating a porcelain brilliance. Just looking from afar, he seemed almost divine, making people afraid to approach, lest they disturb him.

Meimei had just taken a few steps when she noticed he suddenly opened his eyes, staring intently in her direction.

Meeting his dark eyes, her heartbeat skipped a beat, an indescribable feeling grazed her heart.

"Tingye, why did you come so early? I’ve already packed breakfast; I could have just delivered it to the classroom." Meimei approached holding the lunchbox, a gentle smile on her face.

Her slender body looked somewhat frail, yet her face carried a captivating resilience, and the determined light in her eyes made it hard for people to look away.

"I’m hungry."

Dan Tingye’s eyes sparkled; seeing the lunchbox in her hand, his gaze softened, and a smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

He reached out to push open the car door, signaling her to get in.

Only after Meimei sat beside him, smelling the faint fragrance emanating from her, did his taut nerves slowly relax.

Last night, he had insomnia; her independent figure as she left school kept circling in his mind. He was worried she might once again secretly hide somewhere to cry like before, so he couldn’t control himself and followed her the entire way.

He watched her nonchalantly enter the bookstore, buy books, and then return to the apartment.

Until it got dark, she hurried to the supermarket, buying a lot of ingredients to take home...

Dan Tingye certainly knew who those ingredients were for. Imagining being able to eat the breakfast she prepared for him the next day kept him sleepless, waiting downstairs at her apartment overnight.

In his mind, he continuously imagined her busy figure in the kitchen...

"This box is for you. I don’t know what you like to eat, so I made a variety of options. If you don’t like any of them, you can let me know, and I’ll make different ones tomorrow..."

Meimei didn’t notice his odd expression, casually opened a lunchbox, and handed it to Dan Tingye.

"What about the other two?"

Dan Tingye glanced at the ones she placed aside, realizing there were actually three identical lunchboxes—she made three sets of breakfast?

"These are prepared for Jiang Nan and Youyou. I thought since I was making it anyway, I’d make two more for them." Meimei replied with a smile.

Dan Tingye’s expression instantly darkened!
