A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 181: Fighting Part 5

When Reurus first engaged the Vanille, there were a few things that were given away as rewards.

A variety of materials, including "Dragon Slash" shaken by Reurus, and "Magic Stone" not currently worn but used in a set of armor. Gold and silver coins in the thunderbolt "Jewels" that are the ingredients of Eliza's staff.

And one last thing - the 'jewel' of fire.

The "Jewel of Fire" given to Sarah, the Spirit of Fire, has never been used because of Sarah's ability. They didn't use magic tools like Eliza, and they didn't sell them out because of the specificity of the Origin.

Sarah, do you have the "jewel" of fire?

When Reurus asks Sarah in "Call of Thought," he asks for a hand to overturn the situation, the word returns immediately.

I told Reurus to keep it before, so I'll keep it.

Sarah answers with a strange voice.

Sarah freely manipulates flame magic to the extent that she can't understand it from a Reurus that can't use magic properly on her own. The skill will surpass not only Eliza, who acts together, but even Sharon, the best wizard Reurus has ever known.

Spirits in charge of fire may be natural in a sense. Sarah is not only capable of flame magic, but also manipulating nearby fires and detecting heat sources.

For Sarah, the "jewel" of fire is not a particularly good tool. Still, I wore it because Reurus said it, but I felt like I saw a bright light for Reurus here.

Reurus is also not familiar with the natural magic equipment called "Treasure Balls". However, as a wizard, Eliza's effects are so high that she can exercise her magic without the “cost” of hurting herself.

If Sarah, the Spirit of Fire, uses the Fire's "Ball of Treasure", she may be able to get more effects - such a cheap idea, but it is likely to compensate for the firepower that is most needed here.

(If there's a problem, it means the Gregorians are here....)

As far as the words go, Laurent thinks Sarah can't be a “prey” for the Gregorians.

Laurent's judgment was also upheld by Canna, and what she thought would happen when the Greeks learned of Sarah's existence - the likelihood that the Greeks would attack with joy and courage - was also reduced.

But what happens if Sarah uses threatening firepower here?

It is possible to defeat the slime and lower the spot, but as a result, the future targeted by the Gregorians now flies behind Reurus' brain.

(It's only by surviving that kind of trouble...)

There is no point in surviving the present (now) without fear of the future. Reurus, who concluded so, looked at the slime going up to land again and sighed in his heart.

Depending on the situation, it may be necessary to engage Canna and Laurent after defeating the Slime. Putting that in the corner of her heart, Reurus asks Sarah questions.

If you used "Fire's Ball"... how much of that slime would you be able to shave if Sarah pulled out the performance and used it “seriously”?

"Hmm... that's a tough question. I can't say for sure because I've never used 'Treasure Balls', but it's probably about the same as Vanille.... '

Reurus moves his eyebrows and glints to Sarah's voice, which conveys her troubles.

When Reurus first fought Vernier, he used his magic to “strengthen” along the way, didn't he? The one who managed to play with the big sword he used before... at least as powerful as this one... right?

Sarah's words blurred her ass because she wasn't sure. Nevertheless, Reurus was prepared for the response.

The previously confronted Vanille's flame magic - the beam - was a hotline that could only be diverted, even though the Reurus had inflicted enormous damage on Dominic's Great Sword at the time, and even after it had diverted, it still had the power to blow away the cold, solidified lava near Mount Veos.

Reurus is unable to accurately measure its power, but has determined that it was at least moderately powerful. Perhaps it would have reached the advanced level if it were bad, but if it could shoot more flame magic than the magic of that time.

That much power is enough. Let me rely on you, Sarah. "

There are plenty of chances to win. Sarah took a slight breath before accepting, as Reurus concluded.

"Nh... yeah, let me do it! Normally I was scared of spreading fire, but if the slime was against me, I wouldn't have to! I will prove that I am the Spirit of Fire, the Spirit of Reurus! You're just gonna wipe me out with my magic!

"As long as it's reliable... ahh, really"

Reurus replied with a faint smile to Sarah's light mouth. The slime that thinks the body is made up of liquid will be incompatible with the opponent, but in terms of exercising attribute magic, it will be most reliable here.

The original plan was for Reurus and the others to tear apart the slime and use Eliza and Sarah's magic to destroy the Nucleus. But as soon as I saw the speed at which the slime recovered, I couldn't take it.

If you are attacking for a long time, you will eventually be pushed out. It was inevitable because of its limited health and magic.

I'd like to propose a change of plan.

Reurus calls out to Zilba and the others who are alert to the slime.

"As you can see, no matter how much you sharpen, the slime will soon recover... that's it. Instead of spending time sharpening it, I want to sharpen it all at once and put magic into the slime to finish it off."

Reurus and the others shredded in a melee battle, dealt a heavy blow with Sarah's magic, and stung Eliza with her lightning magic. Reurus explained that it is likely to be the most successful in the current situation.

"I don't mind changing the plan, but can you really shoot the magic that can take down that slime?

Kanna asks with her eyes peered, but that's a natural question. Originally, Eliza and Sarah's magic was part of the operation, but the slime they were fighting was unusual.

It is true that the Reuses can be shredded as quickly as possible, but can they be finished in a “decent” way? This is the time to fight together, but Kanna and Laurent don't know much about Eliza or Sarah.

I can't believe that Elizabeth and Sarah's magic will pass through the slime, even if I can see some skill in pre-engagements.

"Cut my trump card... I think I can use the 'Ball of Fire' to shoot flame magic with all my might, so I think it's quite powerful."

For that reason, Reus decided to tell him about the fire's 'jewels' to persuade Kanna and Laurent. I can't say more because Reurus is not familiar with magic equipment, but when I heard Reurus's remarks, Canna and Laurent looked at it with surprise.

(The reaction is bigger than I thought. "Treasure Ball" is such an amazing tool?

As far as the two reactions are concerned, they may prove powerful enough to wipe out the slime, as Sarah said.

To the extent that Reurus thought so, the expression of Canna and Laurent was moving.

"Why do adventurers have 'jewels'... I'd like to ask a lot of questions, but should I stop now? Laurent?"

"From what I've seen, I think there's a good chance that a red-haired lady will win if she uses the fire's 'jewels'. The problem depends on the quality of the" treasure ball "...."

So he cut off his words, and Laurent saw Chilari and Reurus.

"... you don't even look like the kind of guy who makes a claim in this situation without winning? I don't think it would hurt to stay on board with me."

"If we don't get on, we won't be able to defeat the slime... and if we recover so fast, we won't be able to cut it with a sword alone."

Slowly, however, she looks at the slime that is definitely closing the distance and says that she is in trouble.

Too huge for a sword. If they don't move or fight back, they'll be able to cut it out over time. But that's impossible.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's strange that I don't have any objections from you... hey, 'Rabies'"

"... if you need to disagree, I will."

"I mean, she has that much power. Hmm, whatever your Reurus is, I know your power well enough to hate it. If you say so, it will be enough to trust you."

When she said so, she stood up with a double sword as she watched the slime approaching as it sounded. Laurent also stood up for a curved sword, which was his specialty, to follow such a cannon.

"As always, we cut from the other side. I've left it up to you."

If you say so, Kanna and Laurent rush out. Reurus glanced at the backs of the two running away and called out to Jilba while carrying the "Dragon Slash".

"Let's start by pulling the slime into the land as much as possible. I'll do my best from there."

"I'm worried about their eyes, but I can't help it. If it came true, I wanted to hide Sara-sama's power....."

Jilba didn't say anything more because she knew she couldn't get rid of the status quo without taking down the slime.

There is still “room for deception” about Sarah's identity, rather than declaring that she will use the fire's "jewels." It is a Reurus that I want to think so.

(Survival is a prerequisite... and there's no deception or shit when you die.)

Lead the slime to land and use your best efforts - "Caloric Release" to shred it as quickly as possible.

Originally, "Calorific Release" was not suitable for use for a long time. If I hadn't finished the slime, I would have been at a disadvantage all at once, but I had no choice but to bet more than to be pushed out over time.

Sarah, get ready for the magic. And tell Eliza that you can shoot magic anytime. I will guide the slime to you, so I will travel at a distance. "

Ryokai! Come any time!

Reurus calls Sarah in "Idea Call" and urges Gilba to run away. Then the slime followed it, making the giant stupid.

I knew I was on the move after Reurus!

Magic and sound make me feel bad! Damn, it was the edge, but be a little vigilant!

With the magic of the slime behind it, Reurus spits evil in his heart. When you recover, do you think there is a “reason” enough to chase after Reus, that you don't have the intelligence to think, or that you can kill him by pushing force?

I don't understand Slime's thoughts, but I can't run away forever. After confirming that the slime was about 500 meters away from Lake Mersena, Reus stopped the running leg and turned back to the slime.

Scaffolding is not only bad for grass and soil, and there are few things that obstruct vision. To the extent that tall trees were scattered, it was impossible to lose sight of an approaching mountain-like slime.

"Suu... hah... alright!

Reurus takes a forward lean position by kicking the ground in to calm his breath. Then he held the Dragon Slash on his right shoulder and squeezed the handle with both hands.

Eliza and the others are behind us, so we can't back off. I don't intend to go any further than I've decided to play a short-term finale.

― Caloric Release .

Gakin, the sound of the gear meshing with your brain. At the same time, the whole body of Reurus is filled with magic, increasing its physical abilities to areas that cannot be reached by "strengthening" by "contract".

Normally, even a comfortable "caloric release" doesn't know how useful the slime giant is to the opponent. Still, Reurus held a special determination in his chest - kicking the ground out.
