A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 396: Collard in Trouble Part 2

A week has passed since Reurus and the others went to the city of Lemona.

And the time promised by Saniel, a merchant of the city of Lemona, passed.

"After all, the deadline has passed....."

"Ahh....."

Reurus nodded to Eliza as she gazed westward from the town of Speranza and agreed.

As the day passed and the promised date approached, I had the idea that maybe. Saniel said she would visit the town of Speranza “at the latest” within a week. Reurus thinks it's probably useless to wait.

(I wonder how sweet it would be to wait another day and come...)

Though for a short time, the impression of speaking with Saniel did not appear to be the type to break the promise. It would also be true that the lord was trying to prepare his own troops without escorting them.

That's true of Saniel, but as a merchant, I thought I'd keep my business promises.

(Does that mean something happened on the way... you said you'd call the lord again, so something went wrong there?

If there is a phone used in my previous life at this time, I can contact you immediately, but Reurus frowns. There is also the magic of "ideological call", but it is impossible to use it instead of a phone because it cannot be connected if the distance is too far away.

"Will you go to that town again, or will you choose another way... it's up to Collard to decide."

That's what Eliza says, but she's wearing a travel costume so she can deal with anything after the deadline. It was the same with Reurus.

Reurus looks at Eliza "as usual” and leans her neck inside.

Time passed since “that night," but Eliza never did the same thing again. I don't visit Reurus' room late at night, I don't smoke blood.

I don't know if Eliza is careful not to repeat the same thing herself, or if she's just not feeling that way, but at least in the last few days, she hasn't been rolling around on the floor again.

(Seems to have recovered, but as far as Mr. Collard's story goes...)

Reurus murmured inside, saying that there are many mysteries about the bloodsucking species.

Regarding information that manipulates multiple attribute magic, at least Eliza has never shown such signs. Even when you use lightning magic, if you don't have a dedicated wand, you'll “self-destruct.”

I'm worried about what happens when I try to use other attribute magic.

But the ability to manipulate others...

(At that time, you were able to stop moving... I felt like I could move if I used 'Caloric Release', but I had a hard time moving just a little on my own...)

I have feelings for you. I can't deny that Eliza is beginning to exert her powers as a bloodsucker - but the question is, why was that “timing”?

It has been less than two years since I met Eliza, who is also known in this world as an adult. Height and other growth are very slow, but since it involves the physical characteristics of the individual, the revulsion is not mentioned in depth.

I also told Eliza what Collard told me, but I didn't really remember when I visited Reurus' bedroom, and I certainly didn't remember stopping Reurus.

Therefore, confirmation cannot be obtained even if the information is obtained. I did not come out of the speculation that it would probably be a power as a bloodsucker.

(Perhaps the Gregorians know more about these things....)

Reurus smiles a little bitterly at the thought that comes to mind.

If you are a Gregorian hunting around strong monsters, you may have information about various monsters. However, given the events of the past, it is likely that the encounter will develop into an instant killing.

(Gregorians who seem to be listening... I wonder if Laurent is walking around...)

Reurus remembers the face of a Gregorian who seems likely to be the only one to talk about it, but somehow he is once a friend with a blade.

When I met Laurent in the castle city of Accra, the knee of the Count of Velg, I was quite fond of him, but Reurus thought it would be an exception.

Laurent must have behaved like that because of the “bomb” called Rebecca.

(... you want Sophia from King's Landing to explore it? But I don't know that person either....)

Then came Sophia, who was a spiritual teacher at the cathedral in King's City.

If Sofia had told me she was getting information from the Gregorians, she would have been able to pull it off.

The question is, is Sofia not trustworthy?

(The name 'Spirit Man' has also spread... if it has a negative effect on Eliza's body, I'd like to do something about it...)

When I ask for information about the bloodsucking species, I think that Eliza's information might be leaked to the Greeks. I couldn't trust Sofia enough to think so.

(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….)

Last time I went back to Laval Waste City, I didn't get caught, but I think Reus wants to see me next time.

But first, we'll need to deal with the "immediate problem."

"... you were here."

It was Collard who said that.

In order to take charge of the construction of the town, emphasis was placed on ease of movement rather than metal armor, and she wore clothes made of linen that were still fine even though it was dirty, but the expression was stiff against its lightness.

"This is about the town of Lemona, right?

"Hmm... I wonder what happened after the promised date."

"What do you mean?

Are you going back to the town of Lemona for confirmation, or are you going to ask Natalia for instructions? When Reurus leaned his neck, Collard stroked his chin.

"I've been asking a merchant who recently visited this town to make a few changes to the next delivery. I wanted each merchant to share in the delivery of the materials that were supposed to come from the town of Lemona."

"... you think the town of Lemona won't be easy anymore?

"I broke my promise twice, not once. There are places where we have to split up if we have no choice but to receive support, but for the second time...."

Apparently, considering that a “second time” could happen, Collard was talking to other merchants about the accommodation of materials.

"I don't think we're running out of materials right now, but given the speed with which Dwarves are built, it's better to have a lot of materials... except for these people, Miss Mear, who are too short to handle..."

Collard has far-sighted eyes. Dwarf temperament is very easy to get along with as a revulsion, but it seems to be different from Collard.

"If you get angry, why don't you hit each other? I think they'll figure it out, too.

"I've already beaten each other several times....."

"Ah, that's right...."

Apparently there was a chance to beat each other while Reurus didn't know. In the case of Reurus, we were able to solve the problem without developing into a beating, but that would be the result of the “way we met” and the temperament of each other. They shouldn't have judged each other to be dangerous.

"Well, that's why I can't expect you to bring the materials from the town of Lemona... Can you go to that town again?

Are you going to raid me?

"It's different!

When Reurus joked with his face, Collard shouted as if he was in a hurry. For this reason, Reurus immediately raised his hands.

"I'm kidding. It's a monster eater joke."

"I didn't know what it meant, but what I wanted to say was communicated...."

It does not seem to be an immediate retaliation because you broke your promise. I don't suppose there's anything I can do to help each other when something happens.

"Back to the point, even though Baron Barberie broke his promise, was the merchant Saniel going to deliver the materials?

"It looked like I talked to you, but...."

"If so, then...."

Collard snaps his chin, showing the object in the realus.

"If they don't come, would it be one hand to go shopping from here?

What Collard shows is a truck with a horse connected to it. The Reurus who saw it raised his eyebrows small.

"... is that okay? If the promise is broken, this side will be in a bad (fresh) shape.

"At least this is going to be a straight line? Besides....."

So, surprisingly, Collard had a “bad face.”

"I broke my promise twice and came to buy the car from the other party. I'm looking forward to seeing how much you can discount me."

"... is that so?"

Collard says he's using his opponent's fault to buy materials cheaply, not with complete goodwill.

"What if they mistake you for wanting materials?

Eliza, who had been listening until then, asked strangely. Collard looked worse and worse.

"Anyway, you don't have to buy it at that time. All you have to do is whisper to the merchants that you will buy from other merchants who visit this town and that you will tell them" why it happened ”."

"I see... I see."

"I'd like to go to the negotiating table, but I'd like to leave it to the Reurus because I have to coordinate with other merchants. I just want it to be as valuable as possible... can you do me a favor?

Reurus nodded with a bitter smile against Collard laughing happily.

Collard has prepared a place to drop it this time, but if anything happens in the future, Reus thought that he would pull out this story and buy it cheaply.

As for the horse that tows the wagon, there is no problem if Meer is left with the rope.

Thus the Reurus departed again for the city of Lemona.
