A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 422: Withdrawal and Consultation Part 4
Eliza fell unconscious because she was shocked by what Rebecca said.
After seeing it, Reurus decided he couldn't hear “any more" and asked Sarah and Meer to hold Eliza at home, leaving the three of them and then turning to Rebecca.
"... I'll ask you again, it's not a lie, is it?
"Have you... had a reason to lie? I wonder if it's suspicious, or if she's so important... I'm curious, yes, very..."
Rebecca swollen her cheeks small in response to the Reurus, which she made sure to push carefully. However, his gaze was directed towards Eliza, who had left the scene, and Reurus changed his standing position by blocking his gaze.
"Really... okay, thank you for telling me."
However, the expression was not good.
Rebecca's right, there's no reason to lie. Without Chris and Tina, the truth was uncertain, but unfortunately neither did Chris and Tina deny Rebecca's story.
(These two have no reason to lie more than Rebecca....)
Reurus sighs small and shakes his head as he seeps through the emptiness. However, because of Slaus, I switched my mind and turned to Rebecca's back.
It was Hector who was manipulated by Slaus last night. You haven't regained consciousness yet, or you've been rolled to the feet of a winged dragon “snoozing” on the ground, and neither did your pimples move.
Though it was a hassle, Hector's clothes were worn out and he was injured on this side of his body because he was attacked many times. Jilba has healed to some extent with healing magic, but it will take some time to heal.
Considering the danger of being continuously manipulated by a slaw when awake, both hands are tied behind the back and legs are tied. Looking only at him, he looked like he had been kidnapped from somewhere else.
"How's Baron Barberie?
"I'm not awake yet."
"Time to wake up?
When Reurus asks, Chris and Tina answer. Reurus nodded in the same way, as Reurus nodded at Collard.
"If you can hear me... how do you wake me up?
Tina walks towards Hector as Reurus looks, wondering if there is a way to wake him up. Then I crouched down and thought I had touched it with my hands, and there was a thunderbolt.
"Ugh!? Huh!? What, what!?
Within seconds, Hector's body trembles and his eyes open.
Hector looked around in a panic as he remained on the ground, then noticed that his body was being restrained in an attempt to wake him up, and finally blushed his face as he saw Reurus standing around.
"Hey, who the hell are you guys? Where the hell are we?
His face is bluishing, but Hector immediately suppresses his high emotions and asks calmly. There seems to be a certain amount of courage in immediately restoring calm and questioning the properties of the Reuses. Or maybe he just tried to gather information without understanding reality.
"What do you think?
"Hmm... Shiro? I think it's good to see that you're not“ connected ”anymore...."
Reurus ignores Hector's reaction for the time being and asks, Rebecca mutters with her neck tilted small.
Rebecca says it's different from Slaus, but she's good at manipulating others. I can't be alarmed, but Reurus, who decided it was okay for the moment, turned his gaze towards Collard.
"Please, Mr. Collard."
"I threw you in the most troublesome place...."
No, it's the right material, and so on. Sigh and exhale at the divergent reels, and Collard takes a step forward. And I thought I'd knelt next to Hector, and as I woke up, I began to release myself from the rope.
"You've come here under very rare circumstances... do you remember me?
"Eh... are you... Lord Collard?
He seemed to know Collard's face, and Hector raised his eyebrows confused. Still, I think I looked around immediately, and the color that is convincing is mixed with my voice.
"The fact that you're here... means here..."
"Yes. Baron Amendura's territory, east of the Baron's territory... is still under development, a town named Speranza."
As I was building the town of Speranza, I immediately realized that I was just supporting it. Hector stares seriously at Collard's face, followed by Reurus and Gilba.
"That one... Mr. Gilba. And the Red Hair and the Great Sword Adventurer in the realm of Baron Amendora... the Spirit Man."
(... hmm)
After confirming Hector's reaction, Reurus nodded in his heart.
In the town of Lemona, it was called "The Monster Eater," but the nickname that came out of Hector's mouth was "Spirit Man."
Reurus, who judged it likely that he was “sane” from the reaction, turned to Neddy, who had stayed here in the hope that Hector would be restrained with wings if he came out.
"Nice to meet you, Baron, my name is Reurus the Senior Adventurer. This is Neddy the Spirit."
"... hello?
When Reurus introduced him, Neddy greeted him for the time being as if he didn't know what to say. Hector pays his thanks to Neddy.
"Excuse me for dressing like this... no, why are you really dressed like this? And my whole body hurts... where are your women?
Hector looked down at his body as if confused from the bottom of his heart, and then turned to Rebecca and the others.
"Hahaha, this woman is a traveler who stopped by this town... don't you remember why she dressed like this?
Collard answers Hector's questions and quickly changes the subject. Hector wandered his gaze to explore his memory.
"What happens when I wake up next to a town in neighboring territory... last night... last night? No, wait... last night... yesterday... today..."
Apparently, there is no clear memory of being manipulated, and Hector narrows his eyes whispering with bumps.
"When is today...?
Hector says, turning his expression into something stunned. So when Collard told him the date, Hector covered his face with both hands as if he had heard an incredible story.
"For the past month or so... my memory is vague... last night... I wonder if it was last night, but it's like I fought a terrible creature... ah... my flank hurts strangely..."
(... speaking of which, I thought you were beating your flank with the Dragon Slash.)
Even though Slaus was manipulating it, Reus thinks it moved a lot after he hit it with the Dragon Slash. At the same time, Reus thought it would be helpful if he didn't remember exactly what he had slashed with the Dragon Slasher.
"I want you to listen carefully... a bloodsucking species appeared on the Baron's territory, manipulating many people, including you. We had a fight last night, but we couldn't get rid of it, we just had to rescue the Baron."
"What... there's a bloodsucking species in my territory? Such an idiot....."
Hector opens his eyes wide when Collard explains in a painful way.
"What do you think is stupid? But it's true. There was a sudden break in support from the town of Lemona for the construction of this town... and I thought it was strange and asked Leurus to find out."
That said, Collard explains how he brought Hector here.
Of course, Rebecca and the others are Gregorians, but as the story progressed, Hector's complexion turned red and blue.
"It's hard to understand... but this missing memory..."
Hector wandered his gaze with half-heartedness.
When I wake up, I think I'm in captivity, my whole body is ragged and scratched, my memory has been vague for about a month, plus a powerful bloodsucking species has emerged in the territory I rule to manipulate the people.
You can't be convinced immediately by listening to me. However, it doesn't make sense for Reurus and the others to take Hector out on purpose and tell such a story.
"Do you remember anything about that bloodsucking species... Slause?
Despite Hector's emotions, Reurus asks for information about Slaus.
The appearance of the slaw was similar to that of Hector. I mean, I don't think it has anything to do with anything.
Where they came from, how they dived into the town of Lemona, and why they looked like Hector.
There are many things to be concerned about, but Hector, who was questioned by Reurus, simply distorted his mouth bitterly.
"I can only say this happened when I noticed... I'm sorry..."
Hector talks like that, and Reurus pulls back honestly. Because I didn't think Hector would hide it under the circumstances.
"For now, let's take good care of it. I have to change my clothes...."
Collard stood up with his shoulders bent, encouraging Hector to look down. And he walked toward the city.
(... no harvest, huh? No, you just realized there's a good chance he wasn't manipulated?
Is it still related to the distance from the town of Lemona, or did Rebecca decide to “overwrite” it even if she was manipulating it?
We'll have to wait for Hector to settle down before deciding what to do with the town of Lemona.
Reurus looked at Rebecca and the others as he remembered.
"Last night, I couldn't ask the situation alone, but I didn't hear what you were up to. You said you came here to investigate as a job, but isn't it strange that the bishop works in multiple places?
As a result, there was a nasty enemy named Slaus, but Rebecca and the others said they were investigating because of the massive movement of monsters such as Griffons.
The cause was Reurus, but I thought the bishop had a weak reason to move more than one.
That's why Reurus thought it was a good opportunity to question it.
